Anjali getting more screen space-is tht the prob??

I have been thinking for some time what the problem with the show was... one major prob is with the editing and direction about which I will make a detailed post... a long pending one!

I am not a fan of Barun or Sanaya as per say... besides the fact that they have given a face to the character's of Arnav and Khushi making them enjoyable to watch.
I am making this disclaimer upfront to drive the point that unlike people who are crazy about them... I as a viewer want a good storyline and if the support characters can add on to that I have no problem.
Infact I always felt the makers failed to develop all the characters and give meat to them from the beginning, which is why they are at a point where the others seem more like annoying hindrance than contributors. If you see the other shows... all characters were developed and grew together, which is why there is not so much hue and cry about who gets more screen time. The production house tried to encash on Arnav and Khushi from the beginning and gave them the entire stage and thats what the audience is got use to now and you cant blame them. A lesson for your future shows I guess!!😊

However, when the screen is taken on by Maami, NK, Buaji etc. we, at least most of us have an enjoyable time. We are not crying about the leads not being on the screen enough! In fact we miss them when they havent had a scene for a long time. I am particularly fond of Mamaji, whom I terribly miss. For me he is one of the most sincere and bang on characters' who stole my heart with his intoxicated dance during Holi 😊

Yet the name Anjali who is suppose to be the parallel lead seems to make everyone's blood boil these days... Wonder why??
I dont think it has to do with Daljeet asking for more screen space, or her interrupting the romance, or her casting an over shadow on the impending wedding!!

I will tell you why I dislike her with a vengeance.. always have too...

She doesnt fit into my mental model of how a woman should be... she isnt a good role model... I cant identify with her!
Her overly sweet demure... tendency to blindly trust and have that pati parmashwar attitude.. and always playing the damsel in distress is what doeskin sit well with me. The portrayal of this helpless, hapless, with brains smaller that pecan woman is not what the show's viewers can identify with.
The reason many started watching the show was because the strength a character like Khushi showed. She was noticed cause she was way different than many female characters introduced on Indian tv. Many who never watched a serial before started following this one because it seemed we are different. And Anjali's chracter of late just goes against that philosophy they set to prove.

She is everything you tell a woman not to be... and with a majority of woman watching the show.. it affects our sensibility more cause you want to shake her up and say get a life!
