What I LOVED: 29th August 2012
Okay!
So , we started with a Arnav & Dadi dhamaka-vey
Went on to Shyam's Dhol-vey
Ended with Rabba-vey – finally!
All is well that ends well!
Progress Points
1. Arnav Dadi face off; Nani pacifies for now
2. Shyam plants another trick to harm Anjali
3. Khushi's Mehendi function begins
Favorite Scene
Arnav: Try & understand; we want to forget the past and move on. We are happy now. Let us be.
Arnav & Khushi
Ah! The Mehendi night!
Arnav lands despite everything as soon as Godh Bharai is over, right in the middle of Mehendi ceremony. He stays up only for his sister's ceremony, but when it comes to Khushi's ritual, he has to be present. He has to sit there with her as she gets her hand henna-ed.
He wants her to have LG on her hand. Looks like, the name's grown on him. He now loves being called Laad Governer by his wife.
It was another Aww! scene!
The girl: what alphabet do you want?
Arnav: LG
Khushi: LG?
Arnav: Laad Governer!
Khushi: Don't listen to him. You write A.
Arnav: Ah! You have A in your name. Khushi Kumaari Guptaa!
It is curious that Khushi is the one who harps about following all traditions and ritual, it is Arnav who had noticed and remembers that he's already followed all of them with her.
Barring of course the one he keeps trying for and fails (I've lost the count now, how many… 8 or 9?
Wonder if he gets thru with the only tradition he's interested in - of kissing his bride - before the wedding day.
~*~
Anything that messes with his first attempt to be happy and live his own life - is surely going to aggravate him no end.
Arnav & Dadi Face-Off
ASR started off with a bang-on question - What are you trying to do?
Interestingly, Dadi Ji (though she did not let her link with Shyam be revealed) did not mince her words or her intentions. She's made pretty clear that she's not hearing a single word of what Arnav is saying. She is not even reacting to the words 'Lied, cheated, Cheap (ghatiya)'.
She's rather bent on her wish to call Shyam back in RM - because it is the 'right' thing to do.
Arnav followed it up with another bang-on question - How can you even think of bringing back a cheap man like Shyam?
Arnav, Buddy, another possible question might've been - what makes you think calling Shyam back is the right thing to do? None of us said Shyam was even close to 'right'.
Dadi ji evaded Arnav's question totally. She didn't answer him 'how she thought so'. She simply focused on the rightness of a woman having her husband with her when she was expecting his child because he was her husband, her life partner and her future.
Somehow, the fact that this husband is called a 'liar' and 'cheat' is a no, never mind to her. It seems she's expecting Arnav to say all that he did.
Makes one wonder:
>> Shyam must have done something to prove to Dadi ji that he truly loves Anjali.
Maybe he even had to work hard to reach Dadi Ji. It wasn't easy reaching her if Arnav could not reach her (but then Arnav may not have used force or trickery to meet his grandmother if she was unwilling to meet; she only had to say No to stop Arnav.)
>> Has he told Dadi Ji the same or similar story that he's told Anjali?
Dadi ji, who feels that Arnav and Anjali lost their parents, probably, think that Anjali should not now lose her husband, and her child should not lose her father.
Arnav makes it very clear that he's trying to move on with his life and he'd rather not be reminded of the past. He tries to make her see that their lives are at a point where things are taking a turn for the better; they do not need anything to spoil their joy.
His plea to his grandmother is really what Arnav is trying very hard to do right now:
Try & understand; we want to forget the past and move on. We are happy now. Let us be.
Dadi ji, however, has her own ideas about happiness and moving on, and she is certainly in no mood to 'letting him be'.
Dadi states – she does not want that one mistake by a person should wreck Anjali's future. She does not realize that she is that very 'person' who is making the 'one mistake' that would definitely wreck Anjali's future, starting from the very present.
When she finally does walk away, she's still where she started from. Not budged an inch!
Arnav is trying to get across to Dadi Ji and failing. He does not know she is being handled by an unseen enemy.
Arnav & Nani Ji: Heart to Heart
The sad part about all this is that the sister for whom Arnav is fighting with all he has does not trust him, is not with him, has turned away from him; however, the saddest part still is that she really does love Arnav a lot and does not mean him any harm at all.
This is going to hurt Arnav a lot. He is - for the first time - he is trying to live his own life. He has found someone he loves and who loves him. He is getting married to her and has for the first time, perhaps, dreamt of having a life as normal as everyone else's.
Nani Ji focuses on Arnav's happiness from his perspective: You are getting married and you're going to be an uncle.
She totally understands his heart when he tells Dadi Ji that the family took a long time to get over whatever happened in the past. She totally agrees with his desire to move and even wants him to.
As Nani Ji puts it: You live your life your way – it is as though her very heart blesses Arnav all the happiness and joy in the world.
Perhaps, this is what Nani Ji has strived for all the years she spent bringing up and supporting Arnav and Anjali - that one day they'd be free from their past and be able to enjoy and live the life they have as they deserve to.
Arnav doesn't even need to make an effort to get across to Nani Ji. She knows and understands.
Every time Arnav answers Dadi Ji, Nani Ji scolds Arnav and asks him to keep quiet. She is doing this because she knows Arnav will listen to her. Even though, Arnav is very irritated and he even justifies himself that he isn't starting it.
As of now, she's being the peacekeeper. However, whenever Shyam would be discussed, Khushi's mention will need to be made. Oops!
She finally pacifies Dadi ji by promising her that they'd discuss Shyam's entry in RM, though Arnav doesn't look very happy with this promise. He doesn't want to discuss this again.
Curious Bits...
Arnav storming downstairs
... with NK and Akash in tow
NK: Arnav how can you come downstairs. You'd need permission.
Arnav: I don't need anyone's permission.
Nani ji's thought of having the 'boys' participate in the 'jalsa' is against the 'discipline' of Dadi ji; though in here, Nani Ji did it probably on her own – without consulting with Dadi Ji or thinking that she might mind.
Way to go, Nani Ji. This is your house, please treat it as yours!
Nani ji supported Arnav. Mami Jaan and NK followed
Akash: Everyone loves Bhai.
Fandom: Bless ya, Akash! Yes, everyone does love that man!
Arnav, Buddy right after you've done a 'who'd stop me', you've come up with 'I don't need permission'.
It's cool you have supporters.
This time again, by the way, Arnav has come to the main scene 'right on time'.
Garima's Choice
Garima's expression was rather pained when Arnav mentioned:
>> The incident that happened 14 years back
>> The facts he mentioned about his Mom, the trouble with her marriage, and her death
Of course, it is a secret (still) what exactly happened, Garima somehow feels she had done some 'bhool' all those years back and she needs to apologize to Dadi Ji - translates to guilt.
Yet, what is contradictory is:
When Garima first saw Dadi ji and heard Khushi defending Arnav by telling Bua Ji that his Mom had committed suicide, Garima was angry - translates to having been wronged.
Two Probabilities might be computed:
1. Garima was wronged, and she did something (because she was angry at being wronged) that became a mistake for which she needs to apologize.
Seems unlikely, because Garima doesn't look like a vengeful woman
OR
2. Garima made a mistake, but she didn't know so - she was wronged. However, she condemns herself and feels the need to apologize.
Probably! This is more like what happened with Khushi. She made a mistake by getting engaged to Shyam, but she didn't know so. She was cheated and wronged.
She has again decided to be quiet for Arnav's sake.
Very much like Khushi's situation before Arnav married her.
When Khushi's truth came out, and when Garima's truth comes out - the situations may not be very same though. To begin with, Khushi was dealing with Arnav, who by that time, was in love with her.
Garima is however dealing with Dadi ji - vast difference.
Predictions
1. NK's prediction: 'dhaar' is visible (Sharp Edge)
2. Mami Jaan's Prediction: 'Exit before Introduction' seems to be coming true as of now, as Garima again is hiding herself. But the day is far from over as yet.
The Cheap Creep
1. Snake-wa you cheapster!
The moment this creep entered the RM, the first thing he stared at was Khushi.
2. Another CHEAP trick. He's sprinkled broken glass over Anjali's door mat.
Shyam, seriously! GROW UP!!
3. Though he has also fixed the lights. He has planned multiple things that if one fails, there's a standby. Something ought to work.
4. He's being smart too. He doesn't forget keeping his promise to Rani Sahiba about coming to Godh Bharai. He makes sure she gets the message that he came as her promised.
If forcing entry into RM, but he's already preparing the way inside as well.
5. Shyam cannot leave RM if he has to make all his plans work. He should try to stick around to see if his plan has gone through properly or not.
Others
1. Bua Ji did not let Garima get out of the picture - got her back.
2. Mami Jaan nearly went to Shyam, but turned her back to him.
3. HP removed two trays full of flowers.
Why did I notice this? Am not sure, but it's stuck around in my head so here it is in the WIL too!
Precap
Last seen, it was tut-tut-ing Shyam's cheap trick.
On the Side
The IPKKND Animal Kingdom
Man, if Fandom has dubbed ASR as a lion, Khushi as a Tigress, and Shyam as a Snake ... what are others?
Umm.. let's start from the start:
Arnav Singh Raizada: Lion - I am the king, I rule here.
Khushi: Tigress - I'm totally unafraid and fiercely loyal
Anjali: I used to call her Dove, but – erm... I think Peacock is better. Pretty on the face, but has feet of clay, vain
Shyam: Snake
Mami Jaan: Somehow, a cat - very loyal to the family, demands attention, and cannot stand competition
Bua Ji: She somehow reminds me of a very happy and wise Mama Mirabel (this has nothing to do with size), who isn't afraid to put her foot down to protect the good and the right
Nani Ji: A very brave and responsible Lioness, rather royal too!
Dadi Ji: A rather Holier-than-thou Ferdinand the Bull - I shan't move and you can't do anything to convince me otherwise!
Is it any coincidence that Dadi Ji is like a Bull and Arnav's favorite color is Red!
No wonder she charges at him.
