And yes the only reason that sounds obvious to me about Khushi being sad at the news was because, as you mentioned, absence of her parents.

I noticed this too... and i guess she is disappointed that she will have to share her special day with someone else. I personally don't like the whole idea of godh barai and mehndi on the same day, its not fair on Khushi.
