Very well-written and a much-needed post... I myself joined IF almost 2 months ago, so I'm still comparatively new here... Till date, I've only made one post (as a topic-maker that is) and that too was just my introductory post (I guess that was against the forum-rules) because I didn't want my 1st post to be on someone else's thread (Yeah, I'm a little vain, I guess...) and people here were kind enough, so I got 2 pages of comments :-) But after that, I have solely restricted myself to commenting on other people's posts and trying to get familiarized with members here... I still don't have any intentions of starting any thread (God, I sound like a sucker, for other's posts that is...) but I'd just like to share my experience with newbies - try commenting on other people's post (one whose views matches with yours) and get to know more people, and then if you make a post, you might get noticed (well, that was totally my opinion...) And, most importantly, one has to be patient and persistent :-)
