Shashi Gupta is the backbone of the Gupta family. He may be vulnerable but he is the force that gives the Guptas strength. He is the embodiment of righteous power that the Guptas drew strength from. He has taught all of the Guptas, be it Payal, Khushi or even Garima that never give up. He taught them that righteousness prevails. He is always there for his family. His mere presence gives them courage.

On 14th February, Shashi was the only one who stood beside his Khushi. Why? Because he believed in her righteousness. He knew that his daughter could do no wrong. He listened to his heart and followed his brain. He is the only person in the entire show who has always followed his first instincts and those instincts were completely accurate and just.

His heart told him Shyam wasn't trustworthy and his brain found out why. Yes, he paid the price, but Divine Intervention will give him his dues many times over.

On Khushi's wedding day, he was the only one who saw the pain. the helplessness and the desperation in his Bitiya's eyes. He knew, from a first-hand experience, that there are times when a human being is forced to endure this that they have no choice but to. He stood by his daughter's side and was the sole reason why Khushi didn't wither away that very night. He gave her the strength to fight and battle her way forwards. And all he had to do was place his hand on hers. That was enough for her face to break out into a smile in the midst of all the pain and chaos surrounding her.

Today, he did the same thing. He placed his hand on Garima's when she is in distress and her face breaks into a smile because there is someone who is there beside her.

So long as he is alive, the Guptas will not crumble. Why? Because he is the one on whose lap the Guptas cry on and share their deepest sorrow, fears and pains to. So long as he is there to put his hand on theirs and convey through his eyes that he understands and supports them, they will not crumble.

Khushi is Garima modified. Her ability to love unconditionally, her ability to sacrifice readily, her ability to look at the good and her instinct to put other's happiness before hers, these characteristics or guun are all in Khushi. Today, the pain, the desperation and the love pouring out of Garima was the exact same that came out of Khushi when she tried to stop Arnav from leaving for London. It was identical.

Khushi is Garima's life. She is everything Garima lives for. She can do anything for Khushi. I wrote this before and I'll write it again, the thing Garima fears most is to be unable to face Khushi's mother after her death and tell her that she failed to ensure Khushi's happiness. That is all she wants: her daughter to smile and be happy.

Garima loved her sister, immensely. She sees her deceased sister in Khushi and in Khushi's smile. By safeguarding Khushi and her happiness it's Garima's way of making up for being unable to have saved her sister, even if it might not have been Garima's fault.

Only an aunt can give hugs like a mother, keep secrets like a sister and share love like a friend. -(I have no idea who)

Buaji was always strict with Khushi, but her love was always immense. She loves Khushi like her own. When she found Shyam lurking around their house and lusting after Khushi, she threatened him like no other. She gave it to him left, right and centre. (It's a different matter that he didn't pay any heed to her). She will make sure Khushi gets married off as happily as possible. I await the day when she finds out how Arnav married Khushi and what she went through in his hands, and the truth about the past. She will be armed with her trusted belan and on that day, she will spare no one, not Arnav, not Shyam and certain not Subhadra Devi.

Khushi is like a sponge, in literal context of the word. She soaks up everything around her and traps in her, be it positive emotions or negative emotions.

From Shashi, she learned about righteousness and goodness. She learned patience and honesty

From Garima, she learned about love and sacrifice.

From Buaji she learned about perseverance, hard-work and laughter.

All these qualities, she possessed naturally. But by growing up surrounded by such goodness, the qualities she had only grew till in surrounded her like a halo. Everyone was drawn to her and that's what made her irresistible to everyone around her, be it Arnav, Shyam, Nani, Anjali, NK, the Guptas or even Mami. No one could resist laughing along with her if she was in the room.

Take Mami for example. She may be acidic, but I believe she does care. She definitely does care. When she heard the whole "divorce" debacle, she was furious at Khushi. But when Khushi walked in injured, scarred and muddy, she was amongst the ones who ran to Khushi and expressed her worry. That is the love she has for Khushi. She doesn't show it because naturally she's angry at Khushi. She thought Khushi was her partner and she meant what she said. From her point of view, if Khushi had told her the truth from the beginning, Anjali wouldn't be suffering as much as she did. And today, she was beaming with joy when the Goad Bharai and the Mehendi was arranged together.

The point I'm trying to make is that EVERYONE can't help but love Khushi because her goodness surrounds her like a halo and her light touches everyone's souls. And it because of this every reason why she is Devi Mayya's favourite child and she is Arnav's heartbeat.

Now on to one of my favourite characters: Anjali. The term she wished to be called is "Rani Sahiba". She wants to rule her Kingdom. She wants to be loved and she wants everything to be picture perfect. There's no problem in that.

The problem is that the picture doesn't exist. It never has and it never will. She thought that Khushi was trying to break that illusion. Hence the mild animosity. But Khushi managed to make her realise that her fears were unfounded. But it is not Khushi who is in the way of rebuilding her glass castle. No it is someone much closer to her heart: her Chotte.

She knows that Arnav would rather kill her than let her be with Shyam. She knows it. And she also knows that SHE cannot survive without Arnav. Shyam she can make do of, but not Chotte. So she is trying to keep Chotte in the dark and sees Shyam underhandedly. She knows, that if Arnav finds out, he will pull away from her, maybe for good. Because if there's something that Arnav Singh Raizada won't stand for, it's betrayal. So what if she's "Sab se sayani Di"? It's because she is "Di" that he will be shattered. Well, "Di" I really hope your illusion shatters soon. I am your ardent support, more than most of the fandom I assure you. But I don't like double standards. I understand your psychological disposition and if need be, I can actually defend your current actions. I truly can. But I don't approve of deliberately denying what's in the mirror.

This for the Raizadas. Not the Maliks, i.e. Nani, Mami, Mama, Akash and Payal. The thing that is in common in all of them is their loyalty, their love and their righteousness. There is an element of... how should I put it... detachment amongst them compared to the Guptas, but one cannot deny that love that they have for each other.
