Sushpective: One good reason to watch IPKKND?

Hi Guys...

So for past few weeks the core IPKKNDians have really been enjoying the show (not all of us...but I think many of us)...In fact on Monday I wrote this episode was a perfect 10 and many agreed so...I get the sense that we havegenerally been enjoying...right?

Well...The TRP moved a total of 0.2 points...from 2.5 to 2.7...anda lot of theories have been floated on why...

My take on it...(not based on how I feel...because...I obviously thought...past few weeks have been very interesting...but based on what I hear from my folks in India)...is

My mom is not watching the show any more...or does not like it a lot...because she thinks Arnav is too controlling...She didnt like it at all...that he plucked Khushi out of a gathering...when something important was being done and "ordered her" to go inside the room...Thats how she sees it...Now we can all argue that Arnav is too nice...and that is not what he stands for...but believe it or not guys...Khushi not objecting to being ordered turns my mom off...GO FIGURE😆😆😆 Jokes...apart...I think the point is not about Arnie becaus ewe know how much he is doing for Khushi's wishes...the point my mom is making is that Khushi's character needs to be stronger...She is too easily dominated...

My sister is not watching...because the scenes were too much for her to leave the TV on when they were showing SR than the kisses ...with her kid being around...I wonder how many people feel like her.

My sis is also quite upset about this whole Shyamu thing, the video cameras and all...I agree...that Shyamu makes no sense...He is a far fetched character with very basic style of villainy...You know...lying, cheating, framing...kind...I want villains who are more believable...you know people who others tolerate not because others are just plain stupid to figure out what he is doing...not one time but multiple times...

I forawrded all the scenes today with Anjali and Shyam...UGGHHH...who wants to watch that...!

I think most people want to watch characters who are NOT STUPID! And characters who stand for something ...

Who you can follow how they feel...even if you agree or disagree with how they feel...With all my dislikes for dadis character...as such...I know exactly how she feels and where she is coming from...

But In IPKKND...there are many characters who dont make sense consistently...

This includes Khushi...who seems to be driven by one thing one day and quite different the other...Thank GOD...she is making sense now...We now know where she is coming from...what was bothering her and how she feels...Would it have hurt to make it more clear from the beginning so that people didn't become all confused?

Shyamu has never made sense...so he wanted Arnies property, his girlfriend and keep his wife? And why DID he kidnap ARnie...Did they say that?

Anj making sense? Let me not say anything more...

How about Payal...? Hasn't she bounced back and forth between a self absorbed sister and a caring one...for no good reason?

For all the reasons not to watch IPKKND...there is one good reason to watch it...and that is...

If only they can hold to the chracterization...and not show STUPID...It might just work for more people!!

Any way...perhaps not something people may want to talk about any more...but just wanted to share...😃

Hi Sush,

I too have been checking on my mom , who is as one would say a TRP aunty which to me is a person who regularly watches and follows shows. She started watching IPK after she got to know I was a big fan.

Her earlier comments were How pretty are the two, Is Anjali Arnav's real sister , Shyam is such a creep . She related so well with the cahracters. She continues to follow the show and her comments are How pretty are these two , Where is the baby bump , and why are they jumping from dadi's past to Garima's past ? Now sounds confused about the plot. Poor thing tunes in to see what next will happen to Arnie when he broke down saying - "My mother committed suicide" and to know what really happened to the poor boy to find him planning his suhaag raat in the next episode.

Even today she said she is waiting to see what hapens in the mandir with Garima & dadi and was disappointed again and I had to pacify her into saying The wedding has to happen before all this comes out.

Mu point Sush , the erratic handling of tracks . leading one to a point of anticipation and then dropping it off cold. Just like the many attempts of Arnav's to kiss Khushi.

My One good reason - HAs always been ArHI and SaRun. As characters and as actors I feel their hardwork and effort . even today in an interview Sanaya says "that I dont know why the TRPs are low but we are working very hard ..I am working very hard and enjoying myself ..." There are days of brillaince like Monday & the picture you posted and then there are days as today with Shyamu. And you know I skip his scenes completely ...

YOu took a break from the show for a couple of weeks and I know other have too .Also I remember you saying that you tried watching few others with your family back in India ...If you have been able to come back ..that says a lot the Pull the show has...

So what is your real one good reason Sush !!! 😃

My Goodness...I have committed the cardinal sin of pointing a (perceived) flaw in Arnav on a day like this when he went out of his way to please his lady love...I might just well...shut off the computer and go to bed...who would want to respond to THAT!😃 ...

i think this is happening because we are not getting the connection to the characters - the indepth feeling if you know what i mean.

After all that asr has done to her - i cant remember even one episode where they really focused on khushi's feelings and thoughts - they probably gave like a five min focus and then moved on to other things.

After asr forcefully married khushi the cv's turned totally to comedy and if i can remember correctly the only touching emotional scene was when both of them were drunk for holi.

In the old episode they focused so much on feelings and sometimes a whole episode was dedicated to khushi or arnav thinking about their last encounter- so we felt the connection with them - what they were feeling.

I hope i made some sense here- but this is my thinking why people are not clicking with the show anymore.

I joined the show late and i am now catching up on the old scenes and it was totally different then to now. I love the show now still but there was magic in the old episodes.

i seriously dont know Sush what to say for this post..

TRPs..i dont believe in this..but for TV world that is the exam results..

i am watching this show for ARHI..their character growth..now with each lovey episode their understanding, love is growing million folds..all past memories r being openly addressed..😳

Waiting for coins, kangan truth to come out..😳..want arhi to make up for the past things..

Now khushi wants to do something for arnie..make a gues..but will not able to match CVs thoughts

I must agree for one point that is CCTV..also what is shyam's intention??? what is anjali believing

Great post! I love your mom...she is absolutely right! Khushi's character needs to be stronger on the show, and consistent as well (praying to the CVs here).

You have said it so well @OmaRamdass!! I didn't think I wanted to see Arnie apologizing too much...because I know how he felt...and I knew he was making amends even if he didnt apologize vocally for hurting Khushi...They focused on his feelings...(well not as much they did in the past...but they do focus on him)

But they don't really focus on showing khushi's feelings much...do they? It would have been nice to see what Khushi was thinking when she ran away multiple times...It would have been nice to see that she wants to love him but feels confused/ hurt by all that he has done...I would sure love to see episodes devoted on her than all other stupid "plots" they come up with...

Sush, I joined the forum in end of October and your posts were one of few which managed to catch attention.

To your topic here, i say that its the perspective of looking how things are working in the characters. I don't take character sketches given before into hand when I watch a show. Till now, I have seen immense progress made in the show.

The thing that lacks in IPK is inconsistency in editing and execution. The way of showing can improve the episodes in a lot of ways. It is just this inconsistency that blocks out viewers, because till now, IPKKND has maintained to walk on the plot they gave to us and are sticking to the tagline.

Honestly not a single character makes sense these days - may be ASR is an exception (not that I support him, but he is in character from the beginning).

But I still watch this serial because of the leads.
