We are slowly learning the story of Arnav Singh Raizada. (I know Doods has already laid out the past but I'm only going with what's been revealed to us so far) The 14 year old boy who had to witness the suicide of his beloved mother, had to endure the suicide of his father and then was thrown out of his home with his elder sister by their uncle. Had to go through the heartbreak of his sister's wedding being broken somehow. And that's when that 14 year old boy took the responsibility of his family on his shoulders and became a hard man. Arnav Singh Raizada needed to be strong but he confused them and with each blow made himself harder. He took the burden of his whole family as his duty and that Duty became heavier than a mountain. He forgot how to laugh, all we saw from him were smirks in bitterness. There were no tears left in him. He was Fire and Ice. The old wounds were always there, but they became distant in that hardness. He was too hard already, and he wouldn't have stopped until he was stopped by Khushi Kumari Gupta on a fateful night 14 months earlier. And in these months she peeled off layer after layer off him, bringing out the inner core. She taught him to laugh, to cry, to apologise, to sympathise and finally to Love. She shattered that hardness and Arnav Singh Raizada finally become a STRONG person. A person who is not afraid to show his love for his wife in front of the whole world, show his fear of loosing her, show his tears, realise his mistakes and to apologise for them. Now he needs to be stronger than ever because there is a storm coming their way. A storm which threatens to destroy their lives. But Arnav will not bow down to this menacing storm. He will sway with the sudden blast but he will not break down or shatter. This strong man will endure, will protect his beloved from all the blows, will persevere and will rise up stronger and more powerful. He has finally found love in his life and love is making him stronger.

What is inside Arnav? Nani, Anji, Mami, Akash have all seen an aspect of Arnav, a part of him but Khushi is the only person who has seen what is actually inside this enigma of a person. Now she knows him inside out, understands him and will never let him go even if circumstances separate them for some period of time. I know a lot of people have compared him to a lion or tiger at a point of time. But I disagree. Do you all know that lions are not the most courageous animals in a jungle, they hunt in packs, preying on animals where they are sure of success, they move away in the sight of danger, they are social animals. It is tigers who are solitary hunters, courageous under fire, who walk in by themselves in danger even knowing that they might not come out from it alive. They prey on animals a lot bigger than themselves. It's because that is their nature, they have never known otherwise. So lions might be the king of jungle but tigers will always be the real rulers. Somehow I feel Arnav Singh Raizada is a combination of both these majestic animals. He is strong and courageous but he also values and cares for his family.

We all know that Arnav is a just and righteous person but he is also a pure soul. He will realise the implications of his actions against Khushi by forcibly marrying her. I love this character to death but I will be the first person to say that no matter what the reason, no matter how good his intensions were, what he did was wrong, very wrong. Plain and simple. There is no other way around it. And that is why he will take all the blame of the world on his shoulders and defend and protect Khushi, her dignity, he will fight for her against all odds and make her his forever.

Lastly, we have had lots of discussions last week about Wedding Rituals, Marriage, Love. Actually I have stayed away from most of these discussions until now. What I'm going to write is just my point of view in this matter. Don't mean to offend anyone. My marriage was arranged and I did not know my husband at all before I got married. After getting married one day out of the blue he asked me a question. Apparently during the ceremony I didn't say any mantra (verses) out loud. He asked me why I didn't. For him these verses were very important and he made sure he said them all loudly as he was very proud to be getting married to me. My answer to him was, do all these verses really that important? How much do these man made verses matter? The moment our hands were tied on top of the "Jal Ghot" I knew I was sanctified to you by fire as our witness. I accepted you in my mind, in my heart as my husband. And Now I know I belong to you mind, body and soul forever. Isn't that more important than some mere words? After that we never discussed this issue again. But I have seen lots and lots of weddings. Ours is a huge family and I love to attend weddings. I have seen so many Panjit Jis (with due respect) who themselves cannot pronounce the Sankskrit words properly let alone understand them. And they are conducting the weddings. And pheras, when I was going round and round I was a lot more delighted to see my whole extended family coming together dancing away rejoicing. I think they were more happy that finally she is gone from our hands. But was I thinking about the sanctity of these pheras? Do I even know what all the pheras actually mean? I would have to google it. And as I said earlier I took 14 so I have to make some extra meaning for those extra ones now won't I? What I do know is that I am trying to be the best wife I can be in my married life. I try to be sincere and honest in my relationship and that's the best I can do. I am by no means saying that rituals doesn't matter. I mean my younger sister will hopefully get married in a few years and we are already planning her wedding cause she is the baby of the family.
