For all those who are blaming ASR for not revealing the truth behind the contract marriage...about the blackmail that ensured Khushi's acceptance...there is a reason behind his silence...
As much as I have seen his character..this man fears no one...absolutely no one...so he scared of facing the consequences is totally out of question..he is anything but a coward..and he cares a damn about anyone's judgement...and another facade of his character...every time he makes a mistake and realises it...he immediately confesses and asks for forgivenss...and punishes himself severly for the same...so he does know he erred...and no its not his pride or ego that is stopping him from coming out with the whole truth...
In case of Dadi...she is already anti khushi and pro Shyam...asking for him..wanting him back...this much he does know...and if he reveals the reason behind Khushi and his wedding...he will have to confess that he thought khushi and shyam were having an affair ...and that will be disastrous for Khushi...he knows that the moment he talks about his suspicions albeit wrong...Dadi will literally kill Khushi...(its a different story that Dadi might be aware of the distorted shyam version of it)...Dadi is already freely assassinating Khushi's character on the marriage issue...if the shyam khushi fiasco does surface...khushi will have to face worse...and truth be damned...she will be accused...tried and hanged by Dadi's andha kanoon...ASR dare not rake up the shyam cess pool...lest some might splatter on his own Khushi...hence the reason has not been forthcoming
He knows he erred in his judgement..but the moment he acknowledges the premise behind the wedding he also acknowledges that there were causes that led him to believe that Khushi and Shyam were having an affair...which will indirectly lead to Khushi Shyam grey zone again..is it smart to confess publicly hey i forced her to marry me coz i thought she was having an affair..so her behaviour and relationship were suspect?? (just imagine mami's reaction to that one..will such a confession be advantageous to Khushi or more damaging has always been my question...it all depends on an individuals interpretation)..its like opening a Pandora's Box...and why in the world would he even want to go there now...she has paid heavily for his mistakes...why would he want her to be judged again...why would he subject her to more speculation and scandal ...
Notice the contradiction here...he easily and gladly informed Nani (one elder of the household) of the facts ...while he totally refuses to get into this at all with Dadi (the other elder)...its not about him...its about them...coz he knows that nani will be fair and understand...while dadi...š¤¢
Also he has a tendency to keep the younger members out of issues..not wanting to break the family's harmony..and as someone who has had to forcibly step in the shoes of the head of the family...it is some what justified...he did inform the eldest of the family about the facts...that was his responsibility and duty...the rest he believes need not know coz it will only cause pain...be it his di..akash..nani..payal..all will suffer, so silence is golden..the same characteristic we observed today again...his silence regarding dadi's behaviour...he just shut up... not wanting to disrupt his family's happiness and peace...the least known the better...
I am not saying that he is right..neither am i justifying his behaviour..just trying to present his pov...based on his character...
