I slowly started to lose my interest in the serial the day they started to play around with KKG's character and they made her run while stationery in that absolutely cringe worthy episode. After that it has been a steady decimation of her character making her lose all the distinctiveness that made her interesting and vibrant, they took away her moral beliefs her integrity her free spirit her defiance her cheerfulness her peculiar charm and what made her so intriguing and appealing to both ASR and Shyam only to replace it with someone so pale so diluted an antithesis of who she once that if some one were to start watching this serial this year would easily assume she is merely the arm candy for the male protagonist and not a parallel lead
Today folks moan what so great about the other soaps but from what I gather plenty- the women have been shown to make progress carve their own path of dignity and respect educate themselves fight against an atrocity and injustice even within the moralistic constraints of a family saga but here only in IPKKND will you have the reverse- from mind dazzling to mind numbing She behaves absolutely like a silly goose of a girl laps his insults and his condescension as something to be cherished has convenient amnesia does not mind playing the fool has forgotten the contract is now too childish and ridiculous is so submissive to her husband that even the caricature Bahus are protesting on what pushover she has become and all that is occupying her mind is SR
I did not like the double standards exhibited either in her suicide bid and his revelations one was treated as a comedy the other a heartbreak and now please correct me if I am wrong but I thought one of the reasons KKG was hired by Anjali last year was to explain the various customs traditions meaning and sanctity of marriage to La . In fact there were some meaningful tracks one with La and a couple with ASR where she explained the concept of marriage its relevance and importance and today the CV's have shown her as a silly ignorant girl who has absolutely no idea that the Saath pheras have to happen for a marriage to be sanctified. She who was appreciated by Nani for being so traditional and aware of the various rituals and rites last year is suddenly shown looking all shocked and stunned like she was hearing all these rituals for the first time in her life .Dhokla Bride suddenly looks more intelligent in comparison now
A new low in her character degradation and a cheap ploy just to bring in some cute moments for a flirty track No wonder the TRP is stuck at 2.5 absolutely no respect or regard for her character portrayal I know asking for a steady story line from CV;s who have trouble remembering what happened 2 days ago much less last year is a bit much but this is ridiculous

Can any one care to explain what happened between her grudging shot that the contract marriage would end in 10 days and the woebegone feeling she is experiencing over the fact that the marriage rites were not conducted properly day before yesterday and ASR was bloody condescending in that scene If my partner ever used that patronizing tone with me he wouldn't know what hit him
They both have been through a life and death experience together and nowhere do i see his acknowledment of what she went through to bring him back nor how he nearly lost her He treats her like a puppet on a string and he the master of her every move not nice and expected better from him and certainly not this craven capitulation by her
I used to feel teary eyed in the past during all the emotional moments now I just speculate how many glycerin bottles and saline solution was used in the making of the scene
I used to find many of the characters well etched last year but lately all of them have a very OTT artificial feel to them

Folks can all ooh and aah about Dadi but again I find her portrayal overtly dramatic and too philmy to feel any proper respect. She does not evoke any response as I don't connect which was never the case before Forget Arnav and Khushi , remember La Buaji and Garima (of yore before they were reduxed for the benefit of the male lead), Shashi, the 2 girls who worked for ASR group they all made an credible impression on me
NK was the last decent entry into this show others have all been mere add-ons in the TRP game

IPKKND may be the first serial in history that actually turned its biggest USP the unique female lead apart from the male lead into a trophy adjunct for the hero and made her as insipid as yesterday's tea, these days I see her only as his personal cheer leader his masseuse his private entertainer his arm candy his libido teaser KKG the other half of this story has been discarded into history
It drove out the mass women viewers it drove out the level headed viewers it drove out the viewers who were interested in watching a female lead who seemed unlike the other stereotypical sacrificial victims and members can argue till kingdom come about the unfairness of TRP's and every other lame excuse but bottom line is this serial has now been reduced to one of a marginalized value meant only for a niche segment Good is the enemy of the best in this case both the G's are the enemy of what this serial could have been- all the potential was there last year and now another one will soon bite the dust due to a gigantic ego and unwillingness to read the handwriting on the wall and change
