Dear Saomom, Dorindakate,
Age is indeed just a number and you will be amazed how much we have to offer. I do not generally post but some of the more established members of this forum wanted me to post to encourage other matured members to do the same.
I am currently recuperating at home from a heart attack because I am told I work to hard! I am totally a career person and I am known to be a force to be reckoned with in a boardroom. I tell you this because I would be the least likely to watch soaps more so an Indian soap since I cannot speak the language.
I love the imperfect characters of Arnav and Khushi and as life have taught me ... Do not meddle in husband and wife affairs. I could not understand what the all the uproar was about Khushi coming back to RM or if she slept with her husband or who's right or wrong! So I decided to write my thoughts!
The rest, as they say, is history!
I have sent you buddy requests so that we can stay in touch. If ever you just need to talk please know that I woud be very happy to get to know you better.
Do stay in touch.
Maya

For drama's sake, we can justify everything because at the end of the day, its far removed from our daily bread and butter and lives. We have the option of walking away anytime we want and engaging back in when we want. Thats why fiction is justifiable in any shape or form (including 50 shades of grey).

However, if we are comparing the characters on screen to our off screen experiences or conversely projecting our experiences to on screen expectations then for every person who loves and adores ASR, there will be another who cannot stand him. Its just our diverse experiences that make us that way. We see what we want to project on the on-screen characters.

The bottom line is, if someone is enjoying the character of ASR, there are others who absolutely cannot relate to him. and conversely, some adore khushi while others can't stand her shenanigans. Thats just the way it is.

However, we cannot prescribe our experiences and way of life to others and tell others that ASR is right example of a man. To some it may be, to others it absolutely isn't.

I say this because I have seen my friend suffer abuse at the hands of a guy like ASR. The characteristics were so similar, that she stopped watching the show because it hurt. How do I tell her that ASR is the guy for her?

Also, the big question still remains. Nobody asked Khushi what she wants. ASR got his way but did not pause once to ask what she wants.

At this point, I agree to disagree because the ASR projected on screen is obviously interpreted differently by us.

It was fun debating but knowing my expectations, i know i will not be changing my mind anytime soon. :))

Really love you for this post Maya! Very well said👏 You too, Sammy👏 Its just very difficult to find such mature insight into the story - the favorite show of all ages!

Yes, experience teaches us to see beyond, and when we start seeing beyond, any relationship grows beautiful and strong. Its about understanding each other, about accepting one another as they are and being there for each other. We can bring-in ego and punishing the other (tit for tat), but life THAT IS just a span of time given to us, is much more meaningful!

I am very very happy and proud to know members of my IPKKND family like you two (Maya and Sammy)! Take care.😊

Thank you for your response, I appreciate the respect in the discussion and I am so sorry about your friend, I can understand now why you are so adamant, life deals us such blows at times, it scars you and it is so sad when it plays out before you, it is like double jeopardy. My life with my husband who was very much like ASR was so different, he had all his traits but did he ever have a heart of gold, he was tough on the outside but soft as a teddy bear on the inside, after he passed, everyone who attended his funeral services wanted to say how he touched their lives and the one thing that was said that stood out in my mind came from my sister, she said if their were more people like my husband no one would starve in this world. SJ I always love reading your post because you bring a smile to my face everytime, you are my Russell Peters, we may differ on Khushi and Arnav but our hearts is in the right place. I understand Arnav because I see so many good traits in him like my husband but I do respect why your feelings on this character is so strong and I totally understand that as well.
