Understanding Arnav Singh Raizada

Standard Disclaimer- Just because i am going to try to decode a fictional character, i am in no way supporting domestic violence, mental torture and the like.

What drew me to the show? I can say it was the fighting soul of Khushi. But i would be lying. Arnav was the reason i started watching IPK. I maybe be shallow, but that's the truth.

For the last few episodes, i felt that Arnav going overboard with the blackmailing. I felt that now would be the right time for Khushi to give him the finger and walk out of his life forever.

There is a saying that there is nothing great in a divorce, but the greatness is how long you tried to keep things together. (i would refer you to my disclaimer again)

Today i saw an Arnav who deaperately tried to keep his marriage together. His method was down right wrong but his intention to keep his wife with him was not.

This was Arnav Singh Raizada's first sign that he has completely and utterly accepted his marriage to Khushi. A man who hated the with every fiber of his being the concept of marriage stood before Khushi and asked HER if it didnt mean anything. Anybody who says Arnav is back to square one, there is something for you to consider.

He is not the.ideal man by the long shot, but he is a man who desperately wishes to keep his wife with him, and that has to count for something.

A divorce cannot take place when there is no marriage... their marriage was not solemnised the way normal marriages are... Is this marriage for real? where are the witnesses or where is the marriage certificate?

This is how I see it.. They were both bound by the terms of a contract which they signed in February.. sure Khushi had feelings for ASR before the marriage and continues to do so... ASR too had developed feelings for Khushi but, the fateful night put everything asunder.. this proved that ASR neither trusted nor had faith in Khushi...

Khushi had always wanted her prince charming to come asking for her hand.. she had imagined that her marriage will be one of love... all her dreams came dashing to the ground with this contract...

While living under the pretext of a marriage with Khushi, we saw ASR having feelings for her but were they feelings of love...? ..He confessed his love for Khushi when he was kidnapped.. was that an honest confession or was it a signal for Khushi to let her know he was in trouble? If you remember he kept asking Khushi how she knew he was in trouble... It was not very clear if that was an honest confession. sure he behaved like a doting husband on his return but the last few episodes did not show us a doting husband trying to woo his wife but what we saw was the Businessman ASR in action...

he did not miss the opportunity to tell her Aranav Singh Raizada is never wrong.. I wanted to correct him right there by telling him that he made many blunders if he would care to reminisce the past... Now who's the one with the ego?

Yes we are told that he truly loves her.. is it so? if so, why did he not love her before the kidnap track? Were his actions that of a man in love with his wife? Why did his heart not break to see her sleeping out in the cold or when he hurled those harsh words at her.. why did he not suffocate to see her being abused by their families or when he treated her callously?

You do mention here that he is trying to keep their marriage in tact ... did he try doing so before the exposure of Shyam ? This is a recent development... rather than making him apologise for his crimes the writers are making him appear like the victim, while all along it has been Khushi who has been victimised... wasn't it Khushi who was trying to keep her marriage in tact? How long can she live with the pretext?

He did not spare her even after Shaym was thrown out... he was the first to blame her and tell her that he wished they had never met.. Now, does that sound like a person who is trying desperately to keep his marriage in tact ?.. they may be words spoken during the heat of the moment but out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh

If he is trying to make amends, why can't he be forthright with her? Why play these silly games...? He knows how much the institution of marriage means to Khushi...till today, he has not uttered one word to assure Khushi that he will legalise their status.. that this marriage is for keeps and he will fix it.. his actions are more like that of an egoistic husband who wants his wife to return home at any cost... they don't show his love..

Talking of divorces, I too have read somewhere that When two people decide to get a divorce, it isn't a sign that they "don't understand" one another, but a sign that they have, at last, begun to. 😆

I truly believe that reconciliation begins with an apology...

lemme just point out something.. Today I could not understand ASR at all.. Actually I did not understand the episode at all...
Questions:

why he is not starting his ill-make-u-mine-by-10days ? Is it the correct way? what is d urge to get back her in d RM? he have special planning over there?

why is Khushi so adamant about not spending the 10 days in RM?- exactly how she's gonna manage her family after 10 days..

a big question why this last 10days has so much significance suddenly than the last 5 months and 20 days..

if u know d ans pls let me know...

I understand ASR and I'm with him... Just sometimes, he behaves so strangely with our Khushi that I just get irritated with him! At the end of the day, I love him more than ever! Yes, me too! I found Arnav the most attractive at the start of IPKKND... but now it's both ArHi! Love Khushi loads too!

I am definitely no expert when it comes to analyzing ASR and I'm pretty sure there are tons of opinions on the crueler side of his nature. BUT what drew me to his character is that he is so genuinely vulnerable about his feelings for her that he lashes out like a wild animal. The Arnav we see today has been tamed by Khushi but she can't see past the recent hurts he's doled out. Yes he'll never be an ideal husband. Maybe he'll never fit the perfect mold. But in his opinion she's stuck with him and he won't ever let her go

The man fighting for his marriage, the man threatening,using his vices to keep khushi with him- Arnav Singh Raizada is a man in love.
