Months ago..in November 2011..I saw a promo playing in Star Plus...where a visibly devastated,suave,young guy is questioning a petite girl standing in front of him..both looking hurt..both in anguish..in pain about why she got engaged to someone else other than him??I had seen numerous promos of different SP shows play out before..I had ignored them in my own cynical manner..But that day..that particular day..Something shook me..Maybe the handsome guy...maybe the fire in the chemistry between the two leads,maybe the dialogues...or maybe just because of the scene itself..I fell in love with this Odyssey called IPK..😳

Cut to 1^st August 2012...It's been months...The months between have been turbulent..sometimes sunny...sometimes overcast with clouds of Misunderstanding...sometimes utterly nonsense...Sometimes the leads' performance or sometimes the execution have been a sore point with me...But what has remained true to the core and has always stood out??Well my friends..you guessed it right..Has the story of two "star-crossed"lovers changed??Nope..Not for a moment..And today..I got my answer to my love for this show...Today once again IPK justified why it is different!!😃

I am running a fever guys...But after watching an episode of such immense pulchritude...My excitement to reserve a space and post my two cents about the episode has reached at fever-pitch...I won't be going into detailed analysis...Just the points that shook me...

"I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you" -Friedrich Nietzsche..

I hope I don't have to explain who the above quote stands true for..Years ago..When I was six years of age..I had lied to my parents...The lie wasn't damaging..Infact it was totally insignificant...But my father didn't talk to me for a whole day...I didn't cry..I was just hurt..It stirred my young psyche.. Today as I look back...Do I get the reasons behind that behaviour of my father?Hell yea!!

Khushi probably has the purest heart in IPK...The innocent child woman is the last person to think about herself...Whatever comes upon her..She has always put up a jaunty and zany face and fought through every peril...Orphaned at a tender age..She has been lucky enough to be brought up by a loving family..She has received high moral values...Culture and traditions are held in high esteem by her...So far everything well and good...

But what makes her lie then??For a girl with such high moral values...Isn't it a bit strange that she's lying at every point!!She's lying to every single person around her..She's lying to her aged Amma-Bauji-who definitely is not in the pink of his health...She's lying to the loving Naniji'...she's lying to Di..she's lying to Jiji-Jijaji and hell yea...The most important person in her life.Arnavji...

Now I know one can counter my point saying.."She's lying for a purpose..she's lying to cover a stigma'"But friends'what have we learnt when we were young??A lie is a lie...Whatever the circumstances might be...Resorting to lies can never be fruitful..On the contrary...it can always make a pig's ear of a situation...Today once again she was misunderstood by Anjali...In turn...She jeopardized her husband's relationship with his sister all over again...One lie to cover the other..She lies about going to the hospital..then she fakes a fracture...How can one justify all the lies??Tell me friends...at the end of the day..Is she playing fair??She's probably committing the biggest blunder of her life by taking refuge behind a stack of lies and some more lies...

The jist of what I mean is..Khushi has been wronged by Arnav many ways..But the world is not Arnav...She's like an open book to Arnav...He can see through her lies...and he can make her realize her lies..He'll scold her...but would also be her mirror..Just like today...But the whole world is not her Arnavji..No one will care to bring her out of her ocean of lies...specially the people who feels that their trust has been broken by her...

A year ago..love blossoming in the life of the suave and young businessman ASR seemed a chimera...That distant dream was brought to life by a nave girl called Khushi'If ASR was the answers to Khushi's prayers'Khushi was probably the dreams of the late mother of ASR for her beloved son come true...

And indeed love has made the astute ASR travel a long way...He has fallen for Khushi in a very unique way...The tough crust that enshrouded his soft heart wore away...It took time...but it did go away'And today he's left with love,love and lots of love for his Khushi..

Cut to today's episode...I know many are upset with the way ASR behaved with Khushi...Now if you watch the last 5 minutes of the episode with all your rapt attention..I hope you'll get all your answers...Every single dialogue spoke of the anguish...the pain that both these lovers have to go through...Fate has a cruel way of playing its cards...Even a few months ago..ASR wanted "Chutkara"from Khushi...and today the same man has to eat his own words...he has to stop his wife to give him "chutkara"

Yes..Today every single words spoken by ASR was cruel,hard-hitting..but my friends...if you try to read between the lines...you'll see what was this man trying to do since the beginning..He knows his wife too well..He knows his soft,mushy words can never bring Khushi back to RM'and so he has to go the hard way'Make Khushi realize'"Tum har kam akeli nahi kar sakti.."indeed'Khushi can never ever sever all ties by herself...She can't get away lying...She can't run away from the man she is destined to be with!!

That's ASR for you guys!!Cruel,arrogant,cynical but always speaking the harsh truth!!

In the middle of all the serious talks..Let's not forget ASR wiping those tiny droplets of water from her neck..A small but significant scene...Once again it comes dows to realization...ASR wanting Khushi to realize that HE affects her'as much as she affects him..That the feeling is entirely mutual..That the passion is burning inside BOTH of them...

What can I say about performances...Barun Sobti..If possible take back your words..when you said.."Anyone can play ASR.."It must be the joke of the century...😆Anyone can definitely play ASR..but no one can breathe such a life into ASR as you do!!For a year you've basically lived the man...I don't have many words to praise your acting skills!!The smooth transition from humour to intense drama was absolutely eloquent👏

Sanaya..Once again she has justified her role'You shut your critics once again...You're a comedianne per excellence...But you excel in intense scenes too..Way to go girl!!👏

I was in a mood to send my personal "love letter"to Arshad Khan..But I guess we have a telepathy!!Today's execution improved by leaps and bounds'👏

Though believe me...You can still do better!!😉

Anjali is not my forte...So am not touching that point...Not when I'm running a high fever and watery eyes😃

Guys...for the wonderful episode that today was dished out to us..I could go on and on...But let's call it a day today!!😉

Never did I think when I started watching Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - did I think that I would see Arnav Singh Raizada fight for a relationship which he did not believe in much. Never did I think that he would want to hold on to the love of his - in any way possible. Never did I think that I would see the man understand any other human being so well than he understands the love of his life. I don't care who says what - I am AGAIN a proud fan of Arnav Singh Raizada today! His honesty, his struggle, his fight - and the growth in his character as a human being and as a lover just to win his lady love back at any cost - is just awwable!!! ❤️

It is said that everything is fair in love and war - and for the first time it is the male lead of an SP show who is standing by it and proving it. Hats off creatives for giving me a character like Arnav - ASR and chotte and thank you Barun Sobti for executing it so brilliantly. Never I have cried for a character the way I cry for you and today again you made me cry! Kudos to you!!! 👏 👏 👏

Coming to the episode ; What may I say!? It was perfect in every sense again! Loved it to the core because it had 3 important things that I always put up when I discuss the episodes here :

1) Khushi still has a long way to go to understand Arnav and see through him. His basic persona is what she cannot understand - and I feel there is lot for her to learn about him and see through him completely. If there exists a confusion in his mind about his behavior towards her - that is enough proof that her understanding needs to improve a lot more than anyone can think.

2) Khushi's lies - however for the good they are - a lie is a lie and it comes out - and they make things worse. She needs to learn from her mistakes.

3) Arnav's understanding of Khushi may not have been there before but now it is the only thing that is there - he knows her and understands her - like no other. The only thing that he needs to concentrate on is that Khushi needs words and with the way his character is growing - I am sure that is not far off too. The other thing - the contract is not the only reason - but so is her sacrificial attitude.

Now finally coming to this whole track - However much I loved it - Because if one thing that was not done was that ASR's character was not butchered - I kept thinking to myself that what sort of a way is this to woo a lady!!? Because if anything that was happening was - that was Khushi getting riled up and irritated by him and nothing else. Sure if she concentrated a bit she could see his desperate attempts to just be with her - but chalo for once I will give her that benefit of doubt and ignore the fact of her understanding him - Arnav's attempts were just making her explode and now win her over.

Then I put on my thinking cap and thought about it a lot and realized that the answers have been there always. Arnav knows why Khushi left - where he does not know that one reason is Anjali - but he does know that the other reason is the contract. As of now he is working on the "contract" matter. He knew he had 12 days with him - one day he spent with Khushi at Gupta household and the other day he acted like a pig trying to blackmail Khushi into coming home with him.Oh wait!!! Coming home with him!? That is what he is doing. Its not like he is not wooing her - he is - he is flirting with her - touching her - raising her heartbeat - but his prime focus is as of now on getting her back to RM and nothing else. He knows he cannot stay back at GH to woo her - because Anjali also needs him - he needs Khushi at RM to make things work with her - to discuss them out and to finally make her his and that is all he is playing at. Look at all his dialogues since the past few days and you will know what I mean.

Now what makes Khushi tick!? We all know she is a fighter - and when she fights she does not give up - and more than us Arnav Singh Raizada who has always been on its receiving end - knows that. He knows that Khushi will not give up without fighting but he is also aware what ticks her and when and how she will give in. He uses her own sacrificing ideology to get her to do what he wants. With Khushi blackmailing always helps. Just like it worked today.

Now I wondered that why did Arnav blackmail Khushi with her family - did he not once think of the consequences!? But the absence of the rest of the family ticked me. He blackmailed Khushi left right and center in the absence of her family and that is when Khushi gave in. She had to - when ASR is at work - he knows how to deal! ;)

So this is my understanding of why ASR is not wooing her gently but blackmailing her into coming into RM. Hope this does shed some light onto his plan and what his intentions are. 😊

Now let's come to the episode - Finally!! Phew! 😆

Arnav and Khushi - they fight - they squabble - they insult - they do everything that a normal couple does but that does not stop us from feeling the love they have. The underneath current is always visible. I will confess and all here know that I always see it more from Arnav's side - but well cannot deny that it is a love story and that is there.

What I loved in the episode was the DESPERATION with which Arnav wanted Khushi to come home. He will do anything to have Khushi back at home and he does not care how. All his dreams - his happiness - rests with the fact that Khushi needs to come back home and be with him. It was there in that one dialogue ;

"Waapas aajao mere pass"

With Arnav - he is quite aware of Khushi's feelings for him and he also knows what is bothering her. He has still not realized the Anjali angle but he is quite aware of the contract angle and he knows that being bonded to him by a contract is what is stopping her from accepting him. He knows that there happiness lies with each other and no one else and that is why he is doing everything to bring her to him - to not care about what could happen in those "10" days. He needs them to "discuss" and sort out what has gone wrong and not give up. He wants to hold on to her in every way possible and he is trying his level best to make her understand that he is nothing without her.

Arnav is a man of few words - he expresses in his own way - subtly but beautifully. Many scenes touched me today - First - his caressing her neck as an answer to her question that why is he doing what he is doing. Beautifully done. This is his one way of expressing his desire to be close to her and be around her - and most importantly physically. Secondly, He turns his back to again lie to her - sadly she could not see through it - through his lies - of his frustration to get her back home - to just be there. Thirdly, Him coming in excitedly to pick her up and waiting desperately for her to go with him - the disappointment when he realizes that she is not coming. Fourthly, His concern and fear when he realizes that she is hurt. He is scared for her - and he understands her lying ways when he realizes that she is lying to him again. He hurts himself to just call her bluff - Fifth, When he tells her that "bas - sab khatam?" - He will hold on to her - and he wants the same from her. He understands that they are in a "sauda" in a "contract" - but when he as accepted this relationship from his heart - he does not want to think about it. He wants to think about the future and nothing else.

"Khushi ye sab hone dogi tum!? Humari shaadi yuhin khatam hone dogi?"

The acceptance of Arnav Singh Raizada of his marriage to Khushi and a hint for Khushi to understand that how much this marriage means to him and how much he is holding on to it. A hint for her to understand that he lies - he bluffs all the time to maintain the sanctity of the marriage.

"Itna easy hai tumhare liye?"

"Ab humara inn sab bataon se koi matlab nahi hai..."

"Koi matlab nahi hai!?"

AND then he plays his masterstroke and rightly so : They need to stop lying and they need to stop playing games with each other and just let the truth flow out. Once that comes out they can easily stay separately. He also tells her that he is done with lying - and he does not see that as an appropriate option for the future. She again in her good - decides to hide back the truth - (which will bite her again later) - and agrees to go back with him for 10 days. But for him these 10 days dont matter - what matters is that she comes and he makes her his own. The desperation - the frustration - the love - the care - the concern - all there only for her to be back with him. He will keep fighting till she owns up to him and once again comes rushing back in his arms and accepts him truly with all her heart! He will keep testing the waters and finding a way to her heart and make her his own and he will do anything for it. He will pick her up tomorrow and make sure that this time she does not leave.

A brilliant brilliant brilliant episode!! 👏 👏 Loved it to the core!! It had the perfect blend of love - fight - romance and heartfelt emotions. I am not touching Anjali's scene because that had to happen when you are lied to. She was lied to again and she saw through it. True I did feel that she should have revisted the scene when Arnav came back - but as of now she wants no lies - but happiness and she is trying to hold on to it. Lies - will always create trouble - if not know - then later.

Barun Sobti : Take a bow man! Take a bow!! 👏 👏 Every single expression was bang on! Be it the frustration / the anger / the irritation / the desperation / the flirtness - everything was PERFECT ⭐️ You are my hero! You are the king of expressions! Kitni bhi tareef ki jaye kam hai 😳

Sanaya Irani : Loved you in the last scene. The lying bit was done superbly - and also the tears worked for me pretty well. Great job! 👏

Cannot wait to see now how this track will proceed. Man! I am sooo excited!! 10 days to go - lets see kya se kya hota hai 😉

A man who was caged within himself, has been set free by his lively wife and he will move heaven and earth to have her back in his life.

Khushi:

A woman who has always believed in sanctity of marriage, who saw it as a commitment blessed by her own Devi Maiya, who dreamt about a perfect husband, who believed marriages are for eternity, is trying her very best to break away from hers, her very best to let go of the promise made in front of DM, to shatter her own dreams of perfect husband.

A woman who gathered courage to defeat her fears because of this man, has to retreat to save herself from her biggest fear, her broken heart.

Things to ponder:

• There is no other way for him to get khushi Back. I totally get his need for this blackmail.Khushi is not one of those who will just listen to what is being told. Sometimes, actions are more louder than words and that is what he is doing.
  
  
• He challenges her, goads her ,teases her but then he also showers her with his eternal and pure love. The way he wipes the water from her neck, was the earth-stopping, heart-melting moment for me today. He clearly tells her the "reason" for his actions. Explicitly implies that he is doing this for love and only love.
  
  
• His change of expressions from fury at khushi easily lying to him about not being home, his dislike towards the fact that she has lied to him to impatience at her stubbornness to not go with him to immediate concern when he sees the plaster! Wao very nicely executed. Barun Sobti, Hats off!
  
  
• How easily he understand khushi now. The minute she refuses vehemently to go with him again, a doubt begins to form in his mind. I really liked the fact that he asked her to look at him while saying that. He knows by now that khushi cant lie looking straight in the eyes. Atleast, not to him anyways. (A same observation made by khushi the day she feigned buaji's illness and refused to talk to Arnav as buaji). the minute she averts her eyes , his doubt gets confirmed.
  
  
• He also knows that she will not let this pretense of getting injured go easily. There is no other way than doing what she does best.. Drama, nautanki, tamasha. He feigns his leg's injury and as he anticipated, she comes running to him. On any other day, this would have drawn a "rabba-ve" from him as she is visibly upset over his injury. but not today, at this time. He is more bothered about her insistence of not coming home than her fussing over him.
  
  
• He finally lets the cat out of the bag by telling her he knows the reason for her behavior. For him ,things need to clear from now on. No beating around the bush. So he clearly states he knows about the contract thing.
  
  
• His pain, his hurt is very visible. He still cannot fathom she will just let go of the marriage, that marriage vows meant nothing to her, that she will not fight for it, that it doesnt matter to her.
  His "Koi matlab nahi hai??" was heartwrenching...So reminded me of the Diwali episode...same people, same dialogue,same denial, same heartbreak, same pain...Only role reversal! I seriously loved it!
  
  
• For her, the web of lies is just getting thicker. The more she tries to get out of that, the more she is getting entangled.
  
  
• She knows she cant lie looking at him, and she knows he knows it too. So better not look and just say whats in the mind. Not heart, definitely.
