I have read many thought provoking perspectives of Arnav and Khushi. Some analysis I thought were close to brilliant. But Tia after reading your synopsis of Arnav and Khushi, I can honestly say that I have never read a better one.

Precisely. That's exactly what I said. He is not understanding what is going to be the consequences of his action. But as per edited spoiler today, he will stop Khushi and her family from moving and may be even apologize. But the fact remains that someone needs to knock sense into this guy. And unfortunately other than Khushi there is no one who can do it. She needs to tell him what she'd like him to do to get her back instead of telling him what she doesn't want from him.

It seems stupid, but that's the reality of men. Some learn it easy and some are as obtuse as a dumb ox. Unfortunately Khushi got the later. But his intentions are not wrong. So given time and patience of a saint, it's possible to train him... Or so I hope... 😆

Tia, I am so glad you sharedyour analysis with us!! You went back to the starting point, the essence of the characters, in order to explain their current actions. Ever since Arnav brought up the contract, things started to becomevery disjointed for me in the show. Initially I could understand their respective actions and reactions. Arnav used the contract as afalse threatbecause he knew that was the only thing which would stop Khushi from leaving (apparently,it wasn't yet a good enoughtime for a heartfelt apology- nope, that would show vulnerability and we can't have that). Khushi took his words to heart and believed she was the root of all unrest, andas is her nature shereverts to herlighthearted behaviorto put up a front while she resolves to"fixeverything"by leaving (it's her job to bring khushi to others, she is not included in that number). Okay, I followed both of their thinkingso far. Then it became muddled, especially whenthe whole "role reversal" started happening with Arnav pulling Khushi-like tactics out of his hat. What??

Back to the contract threat night: ASR sees he has deeply hurt Khushi. He promises to win her back. Hmm...except I don't think he understands the meaning of the phrase quite the way we do. His interpretation seems to be more along the lines of: I'm going to force her to submit to my love; I will win her over. And here's where I failed to understand his thinking- he doesn't need to conquer her when she has already surrendered herself. Where did the man go who understood what Khushi needed and gave it to her without being asked? What was with all those silly attempts on her birthday(and beyond)to make her smile when he had easily accomplished the task in the past? He quietly gifted her the 2 silver coins on Diwali and she went ecstatic; he gifted her a set of bangles and easily elicited that same smile. Then why couldn't he meet her needs on/after her birthday? What changed? You gave me the answer: Khushi. Her happiness at those times was linked to something material which held sentimental value for her;to him, thoseobjectswere weighed inmonetary valueand heprovided them for the sake of her happiness. Ah, but now Khushi's happiness is not linked to anything material.Arnav tried buying things for her in order to please her but she shot down all his attempts with a very simple statement: It's a pity you were able to pay for all these pretty things, and yet you couldn't purchase my smile for all your money. She clearly tells him I don't want anything material from you, a sincere wish would have been more than enough. Once again, I couldn't understand why it was so hard for him to wish her a simple Happy Birthday, or why he chose to share his personal thoughts with her while she was clearly asleep. But you clued me in to that as well: Vulnerability. Arnav tried to please her the way he has always pleased his family members, the way he has pleased Khushi in the past: go out and buy them whatever they want. That's his way of showing his love. But Khushi has changed the rules of the game entirely- she doesn't need from him, she needs of him. It is not she who needs to submit to Arnav's love, but the other way around! And he's not ready to give her that yet.

So what does he do? He carries on challenging her ASR style in order for him to accept him as her husband and exercise her rights on him as his wife. Ah and now the whole thing starts to click into place with what you've pointed out. He needs to be needed- that is the way he perceives he is loved. And what does Khushi do? She carries on being stubborn in order to bring happiness to others- Arnav is number one on that list. So despite his crazy antics, she won't give in because she perceives his happiness to lie with his sister. Away from her. That is the way Khushi loves.

Missing pieces start tofall into place- thanks again for a wonderful post!!!

Bingo... You hit the nail on the head. That's precisely my point. His ways are wrong but the intentions are right. His problem is he is wooing Khushi like he woos a client. Remember his advice to Aakash when he was trying to woo Payal?

"Never seem to eager to make a deal that the client think that you are desperate to make it. Work in your terms."

Is it any wonder that it's not working? Because as Aakash replied,

"It's not client, it's Payal... It's not deal, it's my marriage..."

Now he needs to remember those words and change his strategy to win Khushi back...

I hope you have a few years handy... 😉

Tia hats off my dear...wonderfully written.

I don't believe anything more can b said...arnav has a long way to go. First he needs to realize as u said its his emotions he needs then he will have to face his fear of attachment and open up.

Hey Tia, beautiful post as usual. 👏 Arnav and Khushi are two opposites who need one thing - LOVE. Knowingly or unknowingly they need it... But their approach towards portraying it is different.. Your post justifies their characters really well.

Arnav has been ASR far too long was him to be able to change his tactics overnight. He knows nothing else but to be ASR. All this time ASR had been able to get Arnav everything he ever wanted. Not just for himself but for the ppl he loves too.
No one seems to have ever told him otherwise. Or dared voice their thought even when they felt what he was doing was not right. (La time in RM)
The only person who thought of showing him the right from wrong was Khushi. One who dares to challenge him. To forcefully make him look @ the flip side of the coin.
But all these situations were for ppl he loved. Never did once did Khushi open her mouth for when it come to herself.
His realization was always there when Khushi explained to him the scenerios and made him politely change his ways or words. ( La track/payaash wedding)
The problem is, Khushi is not here to show him the way this time. He is fending for himself. This time he will have to come to the realization himself, by ofcourse going back to all these moments and connecting all the dots to the many clues Khushi and all the ppl around him have left for him.
Questiosn is, Does ASR have enough brains to get what Arnav's heart so dearly pins for???
well lets c...the game of ASR's realization has just begun.

Agreed. And the only way he will understand when he sees that he can't win. Because people change a strategy when it fails... who changes a successful strategy?
