Friday was mad, mad, mad! Even after one & a half day, I am still stuck to the precap while the episode preceded was no less. After a long time, I watched an episode that demanded & occupied my emotional response for every minute the story was on screen. Despite a little few directorial issues, Friday night was out & out 10 out of 10 for me. I usually go by either talking about the characters or as per the storyline but today I am a bit confused on which route to take. So please bear with me while I jot down my views in more of a haywire manner today.
Let me summarize my emotional ride with the episode first. The episode opened with Khushi accumulating all her savings to pay the house rent. These are the little touches that made my love for IPK deeper ' money hidden in different corners of the household took me back to my long deceased Grandma who used to save her money here & there, an old household tradition. So the night, for me, started with a nice familial touch which then led to my sympathies for Khushi. Khushi realizes she does not have enough money & new tenants approaches to inspect the house. So out of desperation Khushi calls the two allies she can look up to for help. What made me sad was how the only two people she could turn to were not even distantly related to her ' a garage mechanic near her Buaji's household & a food vendor with whom she shared a business for a little while. And asking for money is never easy ' still for her family, even with the level of self-respect she has, she chose this as her last resort. Not being successful, finally she goes back to AR where Arnav is counting seconds for her to come back. This confrontation caused me a deja vu - it was light, fun-filled but significant in terms of reading the characters. Back to GH & it has to be the most hilarious segment I have seen in TV for a while ' I literally laughed rolling on my bed when the Biwi ya TV segment was on. And finally through an IPK magical swift in the script, my heart went tender as I sighed & experienced two people in love followed by dropping jaws at the unbelievable precap. Somewhere in the middle appeared Anjali leaving me with feelings of sorrow & a little more insight into her mind. I will be honest ' it took me a good ten minutes to finally sink in the happenings of the last half an hour and breathe normally.
There were two focal points of story that were made point blank.
Firstly, Arnav understands Khushi. His understanding of her wife was the essence of the episode from the very beginning till the end. He knew which two persons she could ask for help & he made sure she does not succeed in her attempt. Just notice how he adopted two different approaches to handle her ally ' while he threatens Shukla Ji with his bread & butter, he sought help from Happy Ji to bring them closer. Honestly, ASR exposing his marital problems with two almost strangers did not go down well with me on the first sight but I will ignore since he is on a mission to win back his wife! He says he has lots of time ' apparently, for him the clock is ticking too ' so time for extreme measures. He knows how big her ego is as well. He knows she would still never seek help. His understanding of Khushi was also well coined with a flavor of role-reversal. We saw Khushi counting 3-2-1 few months back at GH and now Arnav was counting. I loved how he finished her "Ha .. ha" with "Happy Singh" just as she did on her birthday. And who was the prankster now? The one who was always being played with pranks made sure that table turned and oh boy, how much he enjoyed playing pranks on his wife! His grins said it all. And to top it all, he did not use this opportunity to get her back to RM which he easily could have. He rather chose to buy some time from her in exchange ' the time he can use to win her back in true sense.
Arnav has realized he needs to be himself with Khushi. He, of course, has scope for improvements but he does not need to change for Khushi. Love does not need you to change ' a little adjustment here & there but the person who really loves you, loves you for who you are. We wanted ASR back because he is the guy we fell in love with ' eventually he is the guy with Khushi has fallen in love with too. No "sweet talk" or "gift" will work on Khushi the way ASR attitude will ' and so we will see ASR to win back her ladylove in his true persona.
Secondly, Arnav & Khushi are equals. We have been screaming this for long but finally we got it approved with a seal today as Arnav verbalizes their ego. Did Khushi deny? No. It reminded me of how Khushi derided him once for carrying the weight of his big fat ego. She got a befitting reply from her husband who now has started to understand her.
"Tumhe jante huye bhi aisi offer de raha hun to dimaag to mera obviously kharab hain" ' oh, how I loved this dialogue. The man who was so proud of his dimaag, is now doubting the functionality of his dimaag. And he is also declaring he knows her which has been further strengthened by his understanding of her. Only knowing is not enough. Should not this same dialogue apply to him for putting up an offer of contract marriage to her in the first place? Yes. His "dimaag" was "kharab" that day too and yes, yes, we all know you offered her the contract marriage because of your scorned heart that day. Just only you have to accept it, my dear.
I just love how comfortable Arnav is in expressing his love & longing for Khushi. When Garima made little fun of his intentions of being at GH, I just loved how he took it in good sport ' not at all being embarrassed or even trying to deny. He is a proud man in love. Go boy!
Why not TV since you don't want to become a Biwi - a hilarious comic segment with subtle subtexts. How he loves to watch her smile! And how much he misses her antics! Just as much as I enjoyed Khushi's channels, I also enjoyed the amusement in Arnav. Barun & Sanaya were brilliant in this episode all through but this little fun segment really stood out. On the subtext, it was another story in progress - like the dukh bhari kahani.
"Khushi, I'm sorry I hurt you" ' they both know it was nothing compared to what they have been through in the past. Arnav's sorry in the little matters are only his effort to make up for all the hurts he has ever caused her. And does Khushi understand that? Yes, she does. Don't get me wrong but I just could not ignore this ' was he holding her feet while saying sorry? 😲
"They are beautiful" ' again a dialogue that spoke volume about their love & the change in Arnav Singh Raizada. This Payal holds one of their sweetest memories ' a memory that we have seen both of them to remember & cherish over & over. For the first time, Arnav took the step to verbally praise something about or of Khushi and that is her mother's Payal. This is the man whom Khushi has only heard to say everything about her was cheap ' who hated the way she even dressed. The same man was praising her mother's Payal and no, she did not miss the love in that.
"Deal" ' how many times have we heard this word in the episode? The one word that actually meant the least to them was verbalized the most. They both knew the deal was just something they were using as a mechanism to satisfy both of their objectives ' Arnav using it to help her while Khushi using it to accept her. This is just how they are. Arnav said he would put the clause of speaking her heart out in another deal .. so I guess it is coming. 😉
I felt bad for Anjali as she kept fondling her US DVD. The one person with whom she wants to share this moment was not with her. The other person she wanted to turn to was also away. The loneliness in her life at such a delicate stage is really heart breaking. Pregnancy hormones generally heighten up your emotions ' so she must be feeling horrible right now. Apart from that, it was pretty obvious how she has cut off Khushi from her. She did not ask for once about Khushi or nor even Buaji's condition to Chottey. And after she cut the call, she went on to justify Chottey's action to herself. Arnav has no idea how many more steps he will have to take to mend things between the two most important women of his life. Just a random thought ' when Anjali said that Arnav will live for 100 years, it instantly gave me a feeling of upcoming turbulences for Arnav. His life is not going to get any easier soon, may be.
Before I conclude a bit about what could have made me like the episode even more. I belong to the "very liberal" part of the audience, who ignores bloopers, tries to understand & accept the limitations of the actors & the team and even chooses to ignore the hideous outfit of the leads. But even I felt cheated with the leads being in different frames, facing a very apparent body double during a pretty intense scene no matter how much hotness the profile of the leads were oozing. I just felt it would have been wonderful if at least one or two shots were there with them in the same frame. Yet, no complain!
Gul & Team .. you have done a great, great job this time. 😊
Progress Point: Khushi not backing off as Arnav approaches ' battle of the equals!
Dialouge of the Day: "Suna nehi TV?" ' the way Barun said it just cracked me up!
On a lighter note: Did Arnav try to say that he wants Khushi to call her "Arnav?" Even his name sounded sexy when he says it like that!
Hyperventilating Moment of the Day: Precap, of course! .. and he's gonna stay the night, OMG! The dialogue seemed hotter than anything else .. will wait till it really happens on monday 😊
An open question to all: What does a Pickle Jar refers to or symbolizes?
