anjali,
lovely analysis, beautiful thoughts, and may someone say "hi" to you just like that and to me too.
"Today, he uses her payals to break their silence and become a point of conversation...connecting them to the one"hamesha"in that sweet orphan's life. The very payals he once rebuked in front of her, today become a reverential "beautiful" to him in his hands. What he failed to say that Diwali night when she questioned him, finally answered. His comment to her mother's most precious gift gracing her ankles is not lost on her. "
gorgeous words, i do so want them to break their silence. and those two words on the only thing that holds a sense of forever love, her mother's love for her, seemed to connect him to not just her but her very being, her roots; the words seemed to tenderly touch her mother's love and completed a circle of beautiful love around her. i ramble but you know what i am trying to say.
oh those kangans and letter, they will surely come soon.
So humbled by your words, Di...thanks! I feel really, really strongly about the mothers' connect w/the jewelry. Also, if we look at it from a "suhagaan's" point of view, payals and kangans are a mark of a bride. They are a "forever" blessing, if you will. And yes, the "circle" of each of their mother's love--that metaphor is just beautiful and magical in both cases!
Yes, those payals are really what define Khushi in so many ways...but this is the most special, and intimate connect, yet. And he has finally chosen to acknowledge it with such reverence.
Speaking of parents, I can't help but think back to the bridge convo, and the terrace convo where he talked of her parents and the lack of character in her...What will he say to bring that conversation full circle...this mind can't help but ponder.
