well said...but if his character gets a bit more versatile(rather than just becoming a modern day akbar ruling delhi),barun will surely get to show his complete talent.but i cant compare him to other expirienced actors in the industry.sorry.

I agree. He does some scenes with excellent precision and others not so much. I don't know if the issue is consistency or if it's the type of scene. Like the terrace scene, his expression was almost blank, I guess it was supposed to be shock, but t wasn't very good. The following pain anguish. And crying scenes however were amazing.

He does seem to mumble a lot too.

Overall though his expressions are really good, especially how he communicates with his eyes..

I actually don't have much of a problem with his expression - for the most part, i think they're usually in the realm of decent to perfect - then again, i pay closer attention to the arguments and flirty scenes, and his scenes with Anjali, and they're usually pretty decent.

What i have noticed though is his dialogue delivery is sometimes off - in sporadic scenes here and there though, but yes, i do find myself saying "i think you could have emoted that better Barun"

What sucks for these guys though is that they get their script on the day of the shooting, not knowing what to expect next in the storyline and i feel like this kind of kills the continuity of the character. Some adapt better to it while others may falter.

I'm not a phangirl but i do appreciate the guy's acting - i don't think I can picture anyone else giving ASR the same mannerisms and feel as Barun has - there are flaws, but i can overlook them for the most part. But i agree, his angry scenes are quite a delight to watch - he excels in the stoic, angsty scenes - and his eyes are perfect for the flirting scenes. He seems to do really well in them.

At the same time, the character of ASR doesn't give him much scope so i'd have to blame it on both the actor and character sometimes. But i do see potential - i guess an actor grows though experience so hopefully he'll learn from this show.

However, i have noticed that Barun's portrayal of ASR was a bit more intact pre-kidnapping phase - i don't know if its because of the long hiatus or the fact that ASR is hardly wielding his office power anymore - actually he's been pretty good in the past few weeks minus a few instances but the first few weeks back from his film shoot, at times i felt like I was watching Barun rather than ASR. But it seems like we're getting sparks of him back.

Oh, and the fangirl in me absolutely adores the way his voice gets all husky - now THAT'S a trait I can safely say I see and enjoy in him over the majority of the other actors out there right now.

Dude, I get that you love barun.
And so do I, but I'm not like crazy/ drooly ove him.
That's coz, at the end of the day, he's a regular guy, just like you or me.
But when it comes to acting, and considering the fun loving, typical punjabi that he is,
For him to be p,along someone like ASR is WOW.
I mean, the suave attitude, his dialogue delivery, his micro expressions, et al, basically, he comes like a whole well decorated package.
Barun, though the exact opposite of barun, makes ASR sem so real!!
So what if he is junior to many out there?
Those senior and seasoned actors of the industry may be more experienced than him, but when it comes to portraying a role so magnificiemtly, I really laud him for that.
Personally, I think that both barun and sanaya are better than ALL of their male and female contemporaries in bollywood.
I'm sorry of no one agrees with that, but barun is vpbetter than ANY salmon khan or SRK, and sanaya is WAY WAY ahead in terms of acting and understanding a role if you compare her to kareena, or katrina or deepika.
If you don't agree, well, we can agree to disagree.

I think his acting complements Sanaya really well. Both seem to play off each other and that's what creates the magical chemistry.

However, you are bang on with what you say! His dialogue delivery can occasionally be a little off, and I have to rewind what he said to be able to properly understand.

I agree with the hug thing you say too. Although in the context of the scene I really enjoyed it, I didn't find it was executed in the best way. Dare I say, I found it slightly cringey 😕 (please don't bash me folks!)

Also recently, I feel his body-language as Arnav is a little off. He has begun to slouch and isn't maintaing that strong, slightly stiff body language he portrayed initially. Perhaps it's just me, idk.

Your post isn't bashing BTW. I'm a huge fan of Barun and his acting too, and believe he has managed to portray ASR/Arnav very well. But I've always felt this way aswell actually!

But dont forget he is not a trained actor. He was just a average guy who got into acting . I think TV stars just learn on the job and he does immensely expressive eyes. I think Sanaya is definitely more versatile actor. But when I look at other tV stars I cannot help but compare the passion with which. Barun does romantic scenes. AND THERE IS NO COMPARISON.
Interesting debate but hope u know you have unleashed the wrath of BS fans. LOL
