How can just 800 ppl decide all the TRPs ?

I just don't get it ..

I am a huge TV buff.. i watch almost all the serials that are aired from 7pm to 10 pm across the channels - Star Plus, Sony, Colors, [V] .. (because my hubby reaches from work late, i reach home from work early and in addition as of now, no kids or parents-in-law to take care of ..) .. so i know wat am talking about !

I cant even stand 5 mins of some of the serials telecasted and currently on the top of the TRP chart... From my looong time in IF and other internet forums, i know that Teens and Mid-aged ppl also fall in the grp of the Serial-watching audience, so why is our TRP chart NOT reflecting this ??

SP talks about nayi soch and they promote serials in which the Daughter-in-law is scared to go to the loo without asking her mom-in-law.. the husband shits his pants before holding his wives' hand in front of his mother..

We love our show IPK .. we criticize it , cuz it's our baby.. but the stuff IPK has been delivering to us with and without Sobti definitely does not score 2.7 in my TRP chart !!!
The current no.1 show had a good theme, but they are nowhere near showing wat they promised till now.. It has all been about kitchen politics till now .. which makes me wonder.. where are those 800 TAM meters installed ???

I want to make a difference, i want the shows that reflect my sensibilities shine through the TRP chart.. How can i do that ??
More importantly - how can we do that ??


Try mailing Star Plus .. i had already mailed them for my earlier issue - "Star Plus Player not working outside India, and they have responded saying that they will resolve it at the earliest"

I believe in group effort -- this is my Andolan no: 3 ( the 2nd being of making Salman Khan come to IPK for Ek Tha Tiger Promotion) ..

So, this time my mission is this -- "Make my Television View Count"

P.S: This is not any bashing post.. am just sharing my view. I am also not biased or blinded by IPK.. I recognize the fact that at days IPK fails where other serials might have a plus day !

Why only 800ppl decide the trp is just out of my understanding! I men seriously they dont just decide the trp but the faith of the show, as we all know at the end of the day in this industri it is the trp thet counts! They Seriously needs to do something about it and that too PRONTO!!!!

i stay in India but i cant do any contribution because i know how the system works & i find it dumb

I agree... so that's why i believe we should keep mailing them to change their TRP measuring system.

I loved your post. I am so much with you. I also can't watch those shows for couple of minutes which are ruling TRP charts.As an example I want to mention Diya aur Bati, which has been ruling TRP chart since ages.I tried so hard to watch this show, but failed every time.The lead actress can not act at all and same ghissa pita old saas-bahu drama.I don't find any naya soch there.Plz don't bash me DABH viewers.

IPK is the best show in the Indian television histiry, but it's not ruling the TRP chart.I want to know what is the format of this TRP.IPK nas a huge number of international and on line viewers.But why SP is not considering that?

This Trp system sucks like anything.

I hope they find some other method to find out the popularity of the show.

U know my cousin told me the other day that in her hostel in the TV room almost 100-150 girls watch IPK together and scream everytime Arnav comes on screen. I guess i have not heard any such things about any other show.
