Mazedaar, masaledaar, dumdaar- is episode ko kya naam doon?
Episode starts off with Shyam and Khushi- he had signed the papers and now hands it over to her. Everything he had worked for, planned and plotted for, years of lies and deceit- all down the drain! Just because Shyam Manohar Jha fell for a pair of wide brown eyes brimming with innocence, a smile of infinite beauty and the childlike zest for life of a mere girl from Lucknow. I loved this, really, really loved this-

I didn't care that this was fast resembling a comic caper, didn't care that the story-line was getting quite illogical with glaring holes and loop holes. I just loved what they showed-

Being served a dose of your own medicine
Coming to the papers- what the devil! None of the papers shown so far are worth a penny.
1. The stupid will Shyam got on the sly- no use. It won't come into force because:-
a. ASR won't die, PERIOD.
b. If ASR dies of unnatural causes, property will go into trust
c. Even if Shyam somehow manages to circumvent all this, the will can be contested
d. Shyam knows that Khushi and Mami knows that ASR has been kidnapped
e. If ASR is shown to be missing according to Indian law, it takes 7 years before he can be declared dead
f. A high profile businessman as ASR, last known to be in Scotland by his family members- the authorities in Scotland are sure to be notified in case he is missing and it is only a matter of time before it is established that ASR never set foot in Scotland.
2. The counter will by Khushi- this one has the potential to be a Raizada scale blooper. First what the hell is it? Is it a transfer of assets by Shyam in Anjali's name? If so, then fine. Because Khushi and NK have obviously taken care of the scenario in which they are unable to save Arnav. If it is a will, then lord help them- what are they planning to do? Kill Shyam if Arnav dies? Yeah! Right!
3. The divorce papers are another matter though- they may come in handy
a. It might fall into Anjali's hands
i. Her blinders regarding her husband falls off and she gets to see his true face
ii. She misunderstands Khushi in earnest, leading to further twists and turns and Anjali-Arnav friction
iii. An ever grateful Arnav can use it later to save his sister from her no good husband. By the time Anjali too will be happy to kiss Khushi for her unintended foresight.
I have a feeling that the divorce papers are the ones that are going to come in handy as NK specifically said, they are of no use.
I am also hoping for Anjali to come across the rogue will in Shyam's name. Picture this- Anjali disturbed by Mami's talk, comes home. She is crying... of course she is crying... what else does Anjali Shyam Manohar Jha do best other than crying and lugging around chaandi ke pooja ki thaal. She sees the crib..., and cries..., and sit down by it..., and cries..., and caresses it..., and cries..., and finds something strange attached to the underside..., and cries..., and is puzzled..., and cries..., and pulls it out..., and cries..., and unwraps it..., and cries..., and reads it..., and cries...
In short there is a game going on- a merry-go-round... no... a game of musical chairs by a pack of legal documents signed by an assorted group of airheads who don't even read what they are signing ... especially when in both instances the papers are presented to them by an individual who they have valid reasons to mistrust... WHAT THE?
The papers are signed and handed over to Khushi. At this moment, Nani comes into the room and is surprised, and not pleasantly so, by Shyam's presence in Khushi's room. Once again Shyam displays his ability to think on his feet and smoothly smooths over the situation. An indication that he will wiggle out of the sticky situation he is soon going to find himself in.
Nani is placated for now, but she will recollect this incident soon enough.
Things are building up and they are not looking too pretty for Khushi. May Devi Maiyya and NK save her! Is this Khushi's redemption? Though she had only good intentions she has erred, and erred in a big way- keeping secrets, getting her husband's signature on the sly and thereby putting his life in danger. Thoughtless and impulsive, she has lead others into grave situations. And for this, even if she happens to be the favourite daughter of Devi Maiyya she has to pay. She has to answer to her in-laws and husband. I can only hope Arnav chooses to stand by her, but truth be told, I can't blame him if he doesn't.
Nani is on the verge of leaving, but notices the gift lying unopened on her grandson's favourite recliner. She instructs Khushi to open it. Does this indicate that once the dust from the fall-out has settled a bit, she will nudge Khushi towards Arnav? Will Nani be one of those people who will see the truth and understand Khushi and help Arnav and Khushi unite?
After Nani leaves Shyam too urges Khushi to open the gift box. So, what's new? Shyam has always brought Arnav and Khushi together. It's his sole purpose in life- it's just that the poor thing is unaware of it. He mentions Teej and Saree. I suppose the remarriage is still on the cards then.
Khushi disinterestedly drops the saree and that's when she notices the stray bit of paper stuck to the gift box. She picks it up and sees the restaurant bill and is about to throw it away when she notices something written on the backside. "Laad Governor." Two words. The whole world. A world of hope. And a cartload of memories, an ocean of love, tenderness, a small smile, relief, tears and a tinge of humour- "apne aap ko hi bula rahe hain"
CARELESSNESS
Shyam all this while is planning a romantic outing with Khushi on the morrow to celebrate the end of Arnav Singh Raizada's life. He senses Khushi is not listening and tries to gain her attention. Here once again emotions rule. If Shyam was careless earlier by being caught up in thoughts of Khushi, Khushi almost gave the game away here by being so carried away, so lost in her happiness of getting a note from her Laad Governor.
Next in line for the award for carelessness goes to NK. First he drops the pendant, then flounders in front of Shyam. (By the way- paav bhaari pad gaya- so apparently the babies are saved for the time being.)He limps in front of Shyam. Why, oh! Why! NK! Why couldn't you have faked the limp till you were out of his sight, but no! you had to actually almost dance upto Khushi's room and Shyam caught it. His suspicions were aroused and he followed up on it. Too bad!
Next bit of carelessness- both Khushi and NK were responsible for this when they gave two different stories to Nani for their outing and another one entirely for Shyam. And everything was heard by Shyam. Seriously, what do these two think they are doing? Playing at detectives? It is a man's life and the future of his entire family in line here? Do not they think that every step they take has to be pre-planned and fool-proof? Couldn't they have thought of a story before setting out on their errand and stuck to it? And when they know that they are on a mission of utmost secrecy, why scream out the exact destination they are bound for? I can forgive the recall on the phone as she couldn't have thought of that- there was no reason to think that deep, but the rest?
So now Shyam knows that Khushi is on Arnav's trail. He knows NK is in the know and is helping Khushi. He knows Khushi is not being entirely honest with him. A good thing for the viewers as things are getting exciting now! But yes, at the moment it is advantage Shyam Manohar jha!
DENIAL
Anjali Jha has always existed in a bubble. Her faith in her husband has been rock solid- or so she likes to think. He will never cheat her- or so she likes to think. Her marriage bond is unbreakable. So when her Mami tells her it is not so, that she is living in a world of illusions, that her husband is a liar and a cheat and is planning to leave her, Anjali refuses point-blank to believe her. She tries to convince her aunt of her husband's undying love, that her aunt was mistaken, she has misunderstood; anything but the ugly truth. Because for Anjali Shyam is the love of her life. How can Anjali bear it if Shyam leaves her? Kyunki agar aisa hua toh uski saansein hi ruk jaayenge! She will cease to be... Anjali will breathe no more. But Anjali is still breathing is she not? Doubts are creeping in; scenes hinting of doubt and the not so savoury are intruding into her consciousness; there is pain with every labored breath and with every heightened hearbeat; but Anjali Jha is still breathing. That is proof enough... is it not... that Shyam Manohar Jha was, is and always will be hers and hers alone. Shyam cannot leave her. Forget leaving... he cannot even think of doing so. She reprimands her aunt for saying such things and forbids her to continue on the subject. Anjali Shyam Manohar Jha has decided that Manorama Mami is mistaken. And when Anjali Shyam Manohar Jha has decided on something it stays that way, come what may. Poor Anjali! She is protected for now by her instinctive denial. A mechanism of the human mind to protect the self from sudden shock. No! this is not happening! This cannot happen!... at least for a while, till we get used to the truth and start accepting it. But the seeds of doubt have been planted (Tanthya's words, not mine) and interesting times ahead.
CARE
Manorama Raizada has a heart of gold. Yes she does. How do we know that? Because REDUX says so. REDUX has been singing her praises for the past one month. She is a mother. A mother to both the son of her blood and the two children of her heart- the orphaned children of her husband's sister. Fiercely protective of her family, she has always been shown to be extra protective of Anjali. She has sensed her gullibility, fragility and perhaps her instability. At present her aim is to prepare Anjali for the coming upheaval in her life. She has to convince Anjali of the truth. But Anjali is in no mind to heed her words. Manorama is at the end of her tether. On one hand her favourite neohew is kidnapped and in peril; on the other the same nephew's wife is plotting with her niece's husband to wreak havoc in the family. She cannot watch Anjali breaking down, but she cannot watch her being cheated either. She is making sure that her darling is prepared to face any eventuality when the time comes. But Anjali is refusing to accept the truth and Manorama is crying, crying tears of blood.
RUTHLESSNESS
Arnav Singh Raizada has always been a man of action. He writes his own destiny. He can be ruthless. He is ruthless. It was made abundantly clear this episode when he was shown to tackle two of his captors mercilessly and with hardly an expression of doubt or hesitancy on his face. Brilliant! Thrilling! "Seeti Maar"-worthy! Err... one kostin, pleejj... where the bloody hell were you these past few days?
SUSPICION
Shyam Manohar Jha is a creature of the dark, full of deceit and underhandedness. Is it possible that such a creature can ever trust another being even if she is the so called love of his life? WHAT CRAP! A whiff of foul play, a hint of inconsistency is enough to set this hound on the right trail. Watch out Khushi!
