Akshay's omelettes are a super hit
Akshay Dogra, who plays Akash Singh Raizada in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, was a writer-producer before he decided to become an actor. And now, he just can't seem to get over his newfound passion. "I have been bitten by the acting bug. I want to write and direct eventually but I will keep coming back to acting," gushed the actor who entered the showbiz with director Dipak Tijori's film.
Though he has done shows like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and 12/24 Karol Bagh, it's the Star Plus soap, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, that has made him a household name. And after the recent turn of events in the serial, the focus is on him and his on-screen wife Payal. "Our relationship has gone beyond 'I love you' and sweet nothings. It's maturing," he said, adding that in the coming days, there will be more twists and turns.
While shooting takes up most of his time, he ensures he watches Junior Master Chef. "These kids are unbelievable. When I was their age, I was playing in the mud and struggling with my cycle," said the actor. So, has the Australian show inspired him to enter kitchen? "I can cook omelettes. I can cook it consistently well. My wife is a vegetarian but she loves the omelettes that I make. It's quite an achievement," he said.
