Again another question ... characters have to evolve ... The ASR / Arnav we all like ( of the past) ... is a guy who is the king of his world ... ( the pre marriage days) ... Now look at the ASR u have ...

He is hiding the biggest truth of his life from his family ...
His sisters life is in jeopardy
The man he most respected is the one who is a lecher ...
His own life ( dreams & aspirations ) are in question ...
He has an unrequited love

Now shouldn't this reflect in how he performs ...

Throwing this open for discussion ...

I did not get the question Ruby! Could you please explain once!? 😊

See in any creative process a character has to evolve ... we fall in love with a character ... even small changes we then question ...

Now i asked Sree this .. i will ask u too ..

What was the basic character sketch of Arnav & Khushi ... from first serial that u understood???

above i tried to point out .. that riggers of life ...or rather realities of life do intrude in our day to day behavior ...

which is seen reflecting in ASR & Khushi today ...

But the basic character sketch has not changed from day 1 ...

No one's character sketch has been changed! But the growth in Khushi's character is still needed. The audience fails to connect with her most of the time because even after everything - the monolgues are rare and her realization of her mistake is still very less. Arnav could be dead for all she knows - but where is the fear - the pain and the hurt!? That is what is missing. Sree's points I understood - but even if the basic character sketch is kept intact the growth is possible. We have seen that growth in Arnav's character. The man could not say sorry - but he on realizing his mistake actually went and said sorry to Payal. That is character growth. The basic character can remain intact - but the situations should change the reactions accordingly. That is missing.
@Red : so agree with you there. But subtleness wont work here and atleast not for the TRP audience. They need to show us more of Khushi's feelings and inner turmoil and her reaction to everything that is happening in and around her. Her moping here and there does not help. I would not blame Khushi here - the writers need to make her in such a way that we can relate to.

@redwine

i agree with you.

both arnav and khushi have been thru a lot and it should reflect in their style, attitude and demeanor.

anjali is arnav's weakness his Achilles heel. so when he get a blow where it hurts the most. he cant be the robotic angry young man full of attitude. khushi is his strength and on that terrace he lost both in a sense. thus the breakdown in the middle of the road. and his "emotional defeat" i thikn is reflected in his change in attitude.

same goes for khushi. the girl has gotten one blow after another. how can she be the khushi from the earlier episodes. she used to turn to payal and bauji and whine to her abt her laad governor and also shared her hesitation with shyam. but know she doesnt have her sister nor her family they way she had them before. so we have the khushi we have now.

and i believe people have a tendency to look at the past with nostalgia and remember them as the good old days... even if they really werent. i remeber arnav being bashed for toying with la to get at khushi in the frarak pata track more than being praised for his asr attitude

I am with u Anna ... they need to grow her character ... but sometimes ( i don't know if this is the case here) ... the actor is not as matured to show the growth in her character ...

I'll explain ... did u follow Geet ... Look at Geet post falling in love with Maan ... see Geet before she fell in love ... there is a marked change in the way Drashti has performed ...

Now Look at Sanaya .. how many of us mentioned ... that we are sick of her "O" expressions ... i wrote earlier as welll .. its like she has a list of expressions which she uses ...

But c Barun ... he his subtle changes one can catch now ... see the way he has changed his anger expressions ... its very small ... but u can see the difference ... & as the serial progresses .. these remain in ur subconscious mind & u think the character has evolved ...

Look At Abhaas & c how he has evolved as an actor ... c the Shyam of the first few episodes .. see the Shyam of pre marriage episode & see the Shyam of post marriage episode ... he is bang on ... u don't have to think one second to know what he is trying to convey ... thats the brilliance of the actor .. not the creatives ...

U can't relate to Khushi today ... because u can't feel her pain ...

From the writers POV ... relatable to who ??? Khushi has been instinctive from day 1 ... will that change NO
Khushi leaps before thinking .. can that change or will that change NO
Khushi can go all out for her family .. sacrificing her herself ... can that or will that change NO
Khushi .. can smile when her life is falling all around her ... can that change or will that change NO
Khushi ... is highly immature ... she views the world thru rose tinted glasses ... can that or will that change NO
Khushi has a thinking mind ... has that changed or can that change NO ...

U may not like a particular track laid out by the CV's hence u don't like the way the leads are performing it ...

Agreed agaiN! But then sometimes situations demand such reactions where your whole personality changes and you still maintain that basic nature. Sometimes you change when the situation demands and this time it does actuallY! That is why I absolutely loved the way she opened up to NK. At this moment that was what was required.
@About the actors : Anyday I prefer Barun and Abhas over sanaya - but Sanaya has the potential to do well. I LOVED her in the diwali scene when she broke down! We need that!! That can be brought in if she is given a moment or two alone. But she is not given that. At this moment she needs to break down and we can have our Khushi's own Ambulance moment (like Arnav) - she can outshine here and let people connect with her. Frankly I am loving Khushi these days - I just need more emotions to feel her side of fear and pain and her side of guilt and regret - otherwise I think Sanaya is doing a fab job handling the show.
Well I watched Geet - and I could relate to her as well - because I would say she was still given the right dialogues and no doubt she acted superby well. However here - when it was time for everyone to connect to Khushi - they went into OTTness - that shifted the sympathies to Arnav and moreso lost the connect with the audience and hence the TRP fall.
