OMG!!!!!! Jaynie I sat down and watched every single episode without forwarding about that show and man its scary eh???
Makes you wonder do people really live in that kind of society???I am grateful I was not born in india with that primitive values and culture...it scared me honestly...no joke...I married someone who is totally different religion to mine and my parents were cool about it but from what I saw even different caste is taboo in india???really???I am going to have nightmares now...
Does it get better or is it the same???IPK is 10000 times better in that sense...I am honestly freaked out🤢🤢

Yikes... all in one go?! Must have used up your retinas!
Yup. Caste is as important if not more so than other religions.
I believe one of the episodes of Sutyuhmayve Juhyutay (5th one?) is on this topic of 'love-marriage' across castes and religions. It is very eye-opening.
Here is the link for the written update:

I guess, in that sense the channels are doing their best to promote social causes by producing shows that approach such social evils from the POV of someone from that society.
One has to keep in mind that we on the forum are mostly a city-bred/well-traveled lot.
Such evils exist in all nooks and crannies, and these channels are beamed everywhere. So hopefully, they are changing social outlook slowly.

I did and it was an eye opener...I am still in shock which hubby thinks is a good thing as it shut me up for a while...does that really happen though??what all in the name of honor???what kind of honor is that though that makes you kill your own blood???
Makes you wonder that we have people plannning to travel to venus and here we have that old age mentality where a female is doormat and man of the house dictates her life???
Am so not coming to that part of india ever...

Oh yeah saw this one... it was horrendous... Have you seen the Honour Killing aired by Panorama in UK? That was scary too...

I am glad that we are finally seeing some sensible programs on TV... I think society needs to be aware of such occurrences... Kudos to Aamir to have tackled such bold topics... the latest episode on the Medicare industry has rattled the nerves of some in the medical profession.. I mean all Aamir did was to expose the malpractices in the industry...
But now they are demanding an apology...
