Hey Sree, Don't know about other places but in Bengali culture we have a red liquid thing called 'Aalta', we wear it on our feet, atleast a lot of married women do. Its very messy cause it comes off veru easily, but looks pretty I guess. usually they mix it with water for the bride, so she can deep her feet on the red water and leave her feet imprints on the floor (I had to do it when I got married). they say that the bride entering home is Lakshmi Devi entering home and that is Laksmi's feet imprints:)
