It is funny that for an Indian Forum there are not many doctors weighing in! ASR is supposed to be 27 and if he has Diabetes it is from childhood and the guy is skinny so in general it is diagnosed as Type 1. Type 1 requires regular insulin -- Pancreas is not able to produce insulin and it never was capable because of the age at which this got effected by Diabetes (people who get Diabetes in their 30s and 40s are responsible for it themselves because of lack of exercise and the CARBOHYDRATE filled Indian Diet -- constant pushing of the pancreas with sugary stuff which includes high glycemic rice causes Diabetes after repeat offences committed on the body). So, the medicine story was wrong right from day 1. However, like you guys concluded -- Dimaag Kyon Laga Rahe Ho?? Agar dimaag lagane lag jaogi you will start asking questions like:

1. How did he get a MBA from Harvard and then manage to build the business that too in Real Estate/Textiles/design -- if anyone knows anything about business, it will be clear that any big real estate project to yield any money will take 3-5 years and textiles??? There are no Textile millionaires anymore -- Dirubhai was the last one with Vimal and that was before most of you were born and I only read it in books and watched it in Guru! -- there are only middlemen that deal in Textiles these days -- Fashion shows dont MAKE MONEY -- they lose money -- they are intended to show off the fact that someone is RICH and can afford to have some nice looking chics parade around the floor because they have the money to make them -- nice environment to get your partners/clients drunk to get deals signed!!! Again Dimaag Nahin Lagao Achcha NAHIN hain!!!

2. Why do they say he is the "TOP Businessman" in India but in the episode where he loses his voice and the police arrest those guys that came to cheat him that "these guys are scamming mid and small cap companies??" Mid cap company in a country like India will be under $50-100m. Remember there are only 5-6 big corporations in India that can be Fortune 500 size. Even if we say hypothetically he is now running a Fortune 500 company -- the story they give makes absolutely NO Sense.

But the whole show is meant for the LOVE AFFAIR not LOGIC. Enjoy ASR girls -- if you start asking questions and decide he is not "PLAUSIBLE" you may not like what you see from that point forward -- not really good for the show or your entertainment!

Let us just keep it to G or PG level if we graduate to the real Adult discussions with R ratings about business and logic the whole thing falls apart -- Rima has a post on EQ (emotional Quotient) and IQ -- pertinent post for this!

You guys with your analysis are so damn entertaining -- if you start doing this kind of analysis I will feel like I am back at my office!!! This is my fun stuff -- keep it going -- you guys are awesome at the fun discussions.

he he he.. am a doctor myself.. and always had wondered the same thing.. but as u said, u feel u r back with patients clearing misconceptions abt disease... so i always ask my brain to go on vacation while watching IPK..

the MBA part I rationalise by thinking that he is a child Prodigy...😆

😆 ASR's diabetes is one of a kind. I'm surprised they even sell medicines for that! 😆

But, I don't allow my brain to work when I watch TV serials.

true that,,,tho that this was given much thought by the writers is a question...
@ the original poster...diabetes is not a lifestyle disease...it is a slow killer...and your meds are priscribed according to your illness and your body and other meds...and depends on what type of diabetes one has...(arnav's unknown)
so for once this part of the meds being available only in certain stores...is plausable...besides not every one buys into the generic brands and Arnies charactor is such that he would not...
the kidnappers...want to kee this guy alive...

Not to belabor the point after requesting that we do exactly what you suggested "send our brains on vacation and watch it with our hearts" a quick point about the MBA. Actually child prodigy works for everything else but Business degrees. MBA from Harvard is more about being in a social circle than learning anything really. The economic theory they teach or the business cases they talk about dont make sense till you see them in real life and that is the reason they require students that qualify to have about 3-4 years of experience (average work experience before getting an MBA from any Ivy League school) -- they usually mix the class with a diversity so people learn from each other and every year there are 3-4 students that are fresh grads -- only because some crazy guys spend the 4 years of schooling working at their father's business or if they are sons/daughters of powerful people. The prodigies do great in fields like engineering etc. If the guys had said he is a tech genius that invented something, I would have said he is one of the tech elites of India -- Narayana Muthy (founder of Infosys) is too old and so is Azeem Premji (founder of Whipro one of the largest employers in the world) -- so making him a tech genius that created something vague would have been easier to get away with!!!

In any case -- back to reality and to the EQ show -- This is an addictive heart show -- let us enjoy it.

Cheers.

Oh please. He's A.S.R ! He doesn't need medicines that are oh-so-common.
He's special so he needs special kind of meds too. As simple as that.
No bull crap AT ALL.
