I love you because all the loves in the world are like different rivers flowing into the same lake, where they meet and are transformed into a single love that becomes rain and blesses the earth.
I love you like a river which understands that it must learn to flow differently over waterfalls and to rest in the shallows.
I love you because we are all born in the same place, at the same source, which keeps us provided with a constant supply of water. And so, when we feel weak, all we have to do is wait a little. The spring returns, the winter snows melt and fill us with new energy.
I receive your love and I give you mine.
Not the love of a man for a woman, not the love of a father for a child, not the love of God for his creatures.
But a love with no name and no explanation
Like a river that cannot explain why it follows a particular course, but simply flows onwards.
A love that asks for nothing and gives nothing in return; it is simply there.
I love you
You know what really touched me in this whole episode? (apart from Khushi-Arnav's scene of course), what touched me was Arnav Singh Raizada and Arnav merged into one. I have never felt for him so deeply, aside from the terrace scene day, but today seeing him express himself with both personalities in equal measures, there was a smooth transitional ebbing and flowing of both personalities while he spoke to his family, that touched a chord within me.
I've always felt this distance between Arnav and his family. Even though they care and worry about each other, there is this peculiar 'gap' between them. The entire family today were awaiting their turns to talk to this man who has always been there for them. This man, who is now all alone, in some dingy place, under gun, under observance, under threat (?) - not sure, but I presume he has been threatened or else they wouldn't allow him to talk, plus he didn't send out any clear warning over the phone.
Arnav Singh Raizada, a person who learnt to stand up and deal with the world at very young age, who was robbed of the tender care and love that he still seeks till date, who took the massive weight of responsibility before enjoying youth, a person who skipped the fun-loving years and jumped straight into maturity, a just, genuine, selfless man who always corrects his mistakes when he knows he is in the wrong. He still retains those qualities, those characteristics that make him ASR.
Arnav Singh Raizada is not one to cower under pressure. He has been through extremely tough times, his mind has hardened over the years, his sharp thinking, practical processing of information and having a brilliant presence of mind is present even now when facing death.
He preserves the calm and control of ASR, and the love, and thoughtfulness of Arnav as he speaks to his family. A family who, until Anjali coming to know today that he hasn't reached London, didn't ponder over his silence for three whole days! It was only Khushi who was worried about him, though hers also included the worry about not presenting the truth of her and Shyam before him. Still, besides her, who else wondered about his continued absence of communication, until today?
A lifetime he spent with Anjali, Naani, Maami, Aakash... and 10 months with Khushi... and he delivers a big clue about his current state to her - the person he claims he hates, a person he says he doesn't believe, a person who he feels is a cheater, a person who according to him has low morals - she is the one he delivers his message of help to. Not his family members who he has lived with all these years, not them who have bowed down to his wishes, who have let him be ASR, who fail to dig deeper below the facade of ASR, who touch the surface of Arnav but not the expanse of Arnav hiding within.
Wasn't he patient with them today? When you know you are facing danger, you cherish those moments with loved ones, irrespective whether they ever understood you or not. A reassuring "I'm fine" to your ever-worrying-and-sobbing Di, a firm "Okay" to your Naani's admonishments, a slight smile-smirk while your Maami jabbers her perpetual nonsensical words, a to the point explanation of work status to your brother Aakash, and a hesitant, unsure, scared pause before talking to the girl you know has been waiting to talk to you after so many days, and who you want to talk to too, but are afraid to speak to, since she is the only one who you show your true self to, you are unable to hide yourself from her, she sees you for who you are and she accepts you as you are.
If there was a hint of impatience, then it was present as the phone kept changing hands but not to the person who you really wanted to talk to. You wished, you hoped not, you thought , but you did not want - wished, hoped, feared - they were all mixed as you waited for her presence over the phone, as the phone kept playing the musical chairs, as your heart kept pounding rapidly thinking that she would be the next...
And when you heard her soft breath over the phone, you realized that she didn't need to say anything... her silence was enough, her soft tears through the phone said it all, and just like always, you couldn't see her crying, you couldn't stand feeling her pain, you couldn't stand hearing her broken like that, you wanted to soothe her, to calm her down, to bring peace to her - and you tried your best, you tried the stern, firm ASR way too, but nothing stopped her tears for you - you knew it was for you, every single tear drop was shed in your name - and that drove the guilt within you to a deeper point, until you could take it no longer and you expressed at last what was caged in your heart - your love for her. She was 'home' to you - and that is why you placed a hint of your situation willingly and trustingly with her.
You were thoroughly saddened by the way you had to express your love for her to her. You never thought that it would happen this way. Who would be happy to confess their love for someone in order to hint about the trouble they are in? You meant it when you said it to her - you do love her, but this was also the one way you could alert her about you. Somewhere deep inside, you do trust her enough, you do have faith in her that she will pick up on this hint and will work on it.
The above is the scene where you can see both ASR and Arnav blend seamlessly and yet retain their individual characteristics in the process. ASR intelligently covers the hint of his deathly situation through Arnav's love for Khushi! Simply Amazing!!! 👏
ASR may be alone when he is with family, he may be aloof and distant when with them, they may treat him the way he wants to be treated, but it is not the same with Khushi. He is alone when Khushi is not there with him, he is aloof and distant from himself when Khushi is absent from his life, she treats him the way he 'needs' to be treated - he is a person, a human being when Khushi is by his side.
ASR or Arnav, Shaitan ya Rajkumar - Khushi has accepted his duality - only because she knows deep down, that the two personalities are one - they are bridged by Love. Love that makes him a Shaitan, Love that makes him a Rajkumar.
As long as Khushi is beside him, ASR/Arnav will never be alone. His heart knows this, and his heart understands this.
Love is after all - Home. Security, warmth, care, understanding, faith, trust, respect, stability - they are the building blocks of Love/Home, and they will be laid down, slowly, gradually. For now, Love is the unspoken words, it is in the unexpressed feelings, in the passion in the eyes, in the unconscious exchange of thoughts, and in the beads of nervous hope bridging their hearts.
============================================
I would have loved to write about Khushi, but ASR+Arnav today were depicted so well, needed to focus on him. The Arnav-Khushi scene was one amazingly captured scene... needless to say, my handkerchief was all wet with my tears.
Loved the strong Khushi keeping the distraught family together. Maami was excellent in connecting the dots so quickly, just like she did with Bubbly's case. Had a good laugh about HP's shaadi 😆
Us se zyaada - I so LOVED ASR's look in the pre-cap! He hasn't resigned himself to them yet, he is still holding up, thoda sa gussa bhi dikhaayi diya... waiting on tenterhooks for tomorrow's episode!
Sanaya and Barun! Kya kahe... You two together, even if not in the same frame - how do you guys burn up the screen, make us feel your pain, and make us cry with you???
But, I also applaud Sanaya for holding this show together during the time Barun has been absent. And oh Abhaas, Daljeet too!! 😊
P.S: The lines in the beginning are from Paulo Coelho's 'Aleph'
