I was late posting on the last IP Redux- but Anna and Doods, I absolutely loved your take on the last episode!
Kudos for your analysis on this episode as well! It's really making me look forward to watching it - not long left now!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow, just caught the episode, and I must say, I really liked what I saw! I don't think it beat yesterday's episode though, and part of that is down to some of the dialogue, which felt kind of forced. Especially during the confrontation scene, when he started disbelieving her and went back to ASR mode - it wasn't so much that he didn't believe her that was the problem, but I felt his reaction was a bit too sudden; But the fleeting expressions during that scene were SUPERB, from both Sanaya and Arnav. You could see that he so badly wanted to believe her, and she so badly wanted for him to believe her! But I guess the track is gearing towards pushing the boundaries with regards to their trust for one another, and this I'm fine with, as trust has been a major barrier between their relationship from day dot, but more so from Arnav's end!
But It was pretty evident that they want to prolong the misunderstanding, which is why I couldn't quite appreciate nor understand Khushi's decision to go to Shyam! In fact I was hoping they would increase the bonding between Khushi and Payal, but it seems Khushi is adamant to go it alone! Ah well, let's see where her decision takes her. But one thing I did like about the scene was her fighting spirit and the way in which she confronted Shyam. That made a real difference. I'm just a bit weary about where they are going to take it after today's episode. But again, we'll have to see.
I said the following about yesterday's episode:
And how captivating was the rooftop scene!? It completely erased all my memories of the previous scenes when Khushi was hell bent on jumping off the building. Not only was it beautifully shot, but Sanaya did full justice to her role as Khushi, the tears she shed in isolation were heartbreaking ' it felt as if she was sharing all her pain with the audience, and only the audience. And I think Doods said it really well, the fact that her show of happiness is a way of closing herself off from Arnav. That fact that she's chosen to shut down any emotions of pain, especially in front of Arnav, speaks volumes about her current relationship with Arnav. And it is this barrier which will piss Arnav off, lol and how I enjoy watching an aggravated Arnav. It's clear that her silence frustrates him, as does her constant chatter!
It was great how she brought this to Garima's attention, because not only does it highlight his growing frustrations, but also the fact that he's losing control of the very relationship he once held reign of. The fact that she refuses to open up her innermost feelings to him means the ball is in her court, and ultimately his 6th month marriage with Khushi is not only a farce but also devoid of the real Khushi. His frustrations stem from his inability to understand Khushi, and a part of him knows this, which is why he questions "Kis mitti ki bani hein yein".
Much kudos to the CVs/writers for giving such intense filled dialogues; each and every one of them was significant, and laden with emotions. And of course, it was the delivery of dialogue which created most impact, and how I loved it! The current tandem between Arnav and Khushi is phenomenal. Dialogues which one normally hopes to hear from our distraught heroines were actually voiced out loud by Khushi and with full effect! Her "ghatiya soch" line really hit home where it hurt, and rightfully so! And the guilt/pain/confusion/trepidation which was made visible for a split second in Arnav's eyes made it even more epic. In his case, the truth is going to hurt, especially when it comes back to bite him in the a**!
And I think this episode confirmed for me just how much of a climb Arnav still has left with regards to trusting Khushi. Frankly, I wasn't surprised with the way he reacted to Khushi's unveiling of the truth (in fact I was quite glad to see that side of him return!), because even though what he said was quite harsh and pretty much below the belt, it is a side of Arnav that we expect, and have come to accept, albeit begrudgingly. After all, change is inevitable, and when he does change his attitude, that in itself will be another highlight to the show! What's worth mentioning though is Khushi's reaction to his hostile attitude, because it felt as if a part of her wasn't too surprised either! Upset, yes, of course, but surprised, no. And why would she be, she's been battling with this side of Arnav since day one. Sure, she may not understand him completely, but I reckon she knows him a lot more than he knows himself! And that's also where part of the problem lies. I was a bit put off by some of the posts on this forum with regards to Khushi's character, and how she's wholly to blame this time if he doesn't believe her, etc etc.
But I'd like to think otherwise. In fact, this is the wisest, and bravest I've seen Khushi for quite some time! Her revelation of the truth was perfect; in fact, I felt it left no room for any doubt, that's how honest and heartfelt it came across. It's the kind of confession you actually hope to hear from main leads stuck in misunderstanding - that's how good I felt it was!
But it is the flashing image in HIS mind that prevents him from seeing/accepting the truth for what it is. During the scene Khushi clearly owns up to the fact that she has no idea what is going through his head, as she's unable to understand the impact her being with Shyam had on him that day. However, I think that's down to her inability to see the extent of his love for her, which he too refuses to acknowledge! But it's Khushi's final line of the confrontation that really stood out for me, the fact that no matter what she tells him, he will only believe what he wants to believe. The problem isn't with Khushi, it's with his own lack of faith. For reasons unknown, he's both afraid and in denial of the actual truth. He will only see what he wants to see, hear what he wants to hear, and do what he wants to do. Yes, as a character, he's flawed, but that's why we love him! It maybe disheartening for Khushi, but this is clearly something she understands about his character. Even whilst telling him this truth about his own character, he turns his back on her, which just proves he will believe only what he wants to believe. And what's great about this is that Khushi has accepted this, which is why she will now do what she needs to do in order for the truth to reach him - it's this fighting spirit in Khushi that I am most looking forward to! Let the games begin!
Finally, I look forward to everybody's input, Tanthya, Doods, Sea.Nymph (aka Nia.D?), and all the other regulars at IP Redux who always nail each and every point with their keen analysis and eye for detail; kudos to you all!
