Mrityu
Ek astitva ka anth ya hai swapna ka?
Kya yeh anth hai un smritiyon ka?
Jo hume jeevant hain banate.
Kya auchitya hai reh jata humare karyon ka...
Yadi antatah hum mrityu ko hain pate...
Par aisa jaan hum jeena to nahin bhool jaate!

Kabhi yadi bhoole se hi sahi...
Yeh prasn humare sammukh hain aate...
Kisi apne ka humein smaran karate,
Itna sab dekh bhi kya hum yeh soch pate?
Apna samay aane ki prateeksha to nahin karte...
Aur yadi aisa ho to bhi ...
Kya sandesha hum chod jaate?

Yadi humein iska tanik bhi ho jaye anumaan,
Kya shesh jeevan nahi ban jayega anushthaan...
Kya hum poori nahin karenge apni samast ichccha...
Swarthi nahin honge hum... kya yeh hai kabhi socha?
Apni ichccha taj jo bas doosaron ki soche...
Aise mein bhi yadi koi bas dene ki hi soche...
Kya yeh sambhav hai mera man baar baar mujhse poochata...
In prashno ke uttar to nahin hain mujhe gyaat,
Bas punah punah aati hai yehi baat...
Kitna vimal hai uska man...
Soch netra ho jaatein hain sajal.
Nishpap, nishpaksha, nirmal ho mera man...
Jab aaye woh antim pal!!!!

[Mrityu = Death, Astitva = Existence, Anth = End, Smriti = Memory, Jeevant = Lively, Auchitya = Rationale, Yadi = If, Antatah = In the end, Prashn = Question, Sammukh = In front, Smaran = Remind, Prateeksha = Wait, Sandesh = Message, Anumaan = Idea,
Anushthaan = Ceremony, Samast = All, Ichccha = Desires, Swarthi = Selfish, Sambhav = Possible, Uttar = Answers, Gyaat = Aware, Punah = Again, Vimal = Pure, Netra = Eyes, Sajal = Filled with water/Tears, Nishpap = Without Sin, Nishpaksha = Unbiased, Nirmal = Pure, Antim = Last, Pal = Moment]
Please see this post is not to justify what Khushi is trying to do it is just a reflection of what if due to cruelty of fate one has to face Death...

My point exactly - that time it should have been told - if Arnav had NOT believed her then - then it would have been his fault completely but since she did not tell him - she bears the mistake of it equally! And moreover she did get this to herself. Saving one life at that moment - has caught her to jeopardise her, payal, anjali, the baby when she / he comes and arnav's life - all in danger. That is why I say she started it - she has to pay back to end it.
Good point - she did not even feel the need to put it in the will about Shyam!?? I mean "WHAT THE" 😲 😲 What I feel lack in her characterization is that she does not anytime feel the guilt of what she has hidden from the Raizada's. She sees how Anjali dotes on her and she also knows shyam is still after her - but where is the guilt!??
The writers need to realize that Khushi is 23 not 6 or 7. And why concentrate on only Arnav? - Khushi's characters needs to be thought of more since this was supposed to be HER track!

Dear Anna,
Thank you for your comments :
Same here Anna, I am a slow writer, my thinking process and writing process really takes time. Still, I am pursuing it as it gives me some form of contentment. Call it escapism - it helps me a lot. This serial took everyone time for sure - I always felt that you think in my angle and since your comments come first - I enjoy it and so I restructure myself. This helped me a lot - Frankly speaking.
The khushi that caught my attention was "Resigning scene" the entire dialogues is in my memory. I really forgot the count I would have viewed the scene. that is called as substance - where has she reduced to.
- Many mentioned that - I resented her when she gate crashed his party, many many instances, but hiding a vital truth is not justified at all. You girls are young college students with dreams in eyes but I am a working lady - witnessing the reality of life - where I dream to get a good night sleep. Betrayal is unjustified. It is about people's life and death. The man engaged you when he is already having a wife.
Indian penal code does not permit polygamy - so there is a civil offence against him in first place - the criminal offence comes in the later stage of his attempted murder.
The entire family of Gupta Betrayed Arnav Singh Raizada - I sympathise the boy.
You know something "Anna" I read the interview of "Ved" the writer - he said that they created the character of Khushi "weird'. After reading that interview - I never bothered a character that is designed weird - what to do?

Guys...if we remember Zee News's earlier spoiler...it said that Khushi tells him the truth and he will initially not believe her...then mishti's latest says that khushi will tell him everything herself...

SO i think once she finds out that Arnav knows...she will not keep mum...she will speak up...because the onlt reason she shut up the first time was to prevent him the hurt...the second time on wedding day she wanted to tell but tab tak sab garbar hochuka tha...

so lets wait and watch kiya hota hai...

Dear sea nymph :
i was waiting for your analysis and read it also so far - it is not about critizising- it is about understandng. For me age or gender has got nothing to do with the person's thinking. Experience is a vital tool. My only question is - accepted Arnav Singh Raizada is not a right person - he is man with grey areas - still he did his job with integrity.
Where is your integrity? You are going and fighting for Lavaya's rights for chance in engagement date, fighting for the sangeeth with your "mouna Firath", gate crashing a party where you were not invited -
Why she did not fight for Anjali? The apex structure of your will pyramid featured "anjali and her child" - it is not your duty to inform Anjali about her husband. it is a moral responsibility.
For me that character lacked substance - Today you are on the stage of commiting suicide - no one lead you there - it is the path you choose for yourself.
I did not mean to hurt anyone - it is just thought sharing.
always loved your views

ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EDGE (PART I)

Today's post may not be written very coherently, and that's because there are so many thoughts in my head, that I'm not sure which to pen down and which to leave out. Yesterday's episode may have seemed OTT to many, but there was a lot of unsaid themes that brought a scary picture to me.

Repression --> Delusional ---> Neurotic:
This is what has become of Khushi. A girl who lived and laughed for others all this while, has now planned to give up her life as it is the only sensible way out for her right now. Over the months, she has tried to repress her feelings of hurt, pain, betrayal and mockery - you always wondered why she never showed any feelings, right? Well, this is the reason. How can you express your feelings after they have been thwarted and after you've bound them to an iron block and sunk them in a deep ocean?
Those innocent feelings in Khushi's heart faced a premature death, and they were replaced by lack of trust, denial, lack of belief and general loss of rationalization.

Khushi has always been a simple girl, straightforward with her ideas, morals and values. She is the girl who has never failed to bring a smile to other's faces no matter how broken she was inside (remember her nautanki at Holi to manofy Naniji?). We always wondered, how a person could go through such serious circumstances in the most comic way possible. From Khushi's perspective, she could do two things - wallow in despair or live life like before. So, being the drama queen that she is, Khushi chose the latter and went about with her bollywood antics.

The above was her Ego defence mechanism at work. Khushi being a gentle soul and having a sensitive heart, wouldn't really have been able to bear the brunt of accepting the pain. So her mind decides to push all those unwanted harsh memories somewhere safe, out of harm's way.

But alas, repressing memories and emotions is not exactly healthy. It builds up the burden as time goes by. Add a constant stressor (Arnav) into the picture and you can see why Khushi went so rapidly downhill and right into major anxiety.

According to psychological findings, anxiety disorder can lead to suicidal tendencies
. All it needs is a recurrent and intense stressor (a major life event). This stressor can cause the victim to undergo a range of disturbing emotions: sadness, nervousness, insomnia, worry, desperation and suicidal thoughts, among others.

To further add to Khushi's highly disturbed state of mind was the idea that Arnav was planning to kill her in order to marry Lavanya. This is where her 'Delusions' began.

To quote: "
Delusional disorder refers to a condition associated with one or more non-bizarre delusions of thinking-such as expressing beliefs that occur in real life such as being poisoned, being stalked, being loved or deceived, or having an illness, provided no other symptoms of schizophrenia are exhibited."

Remember, her mind is at it's weakest point right now, it is already filled with confusing, irrational thoughts. Arnav's behaviour has been extremely inconsistent with her all this time. She has no base on which to believe or trust him. Her coping abilites are no longer strong enough to deal with this additional trauma, and the main point - she is unable to confide all these pent up anguish to anyone! Human nature, or the human soul is unable to continue for long when secrets and deep seated conflicts are harbored in the heart. It eats away at the soul and mind.

You remember in yesterday's post I talked about the cracks and fissures developing in Khushi? Well, you can see that materializing now - the fact that Khushi has planned to give in to Laad Governor's idea of killing her by committing suicide, you can see that her mind, heart and soul cannot take it anymore.

This is her Neurosis. Repression of pain led to the birth of Delusions which further lead to the point of Neurotic tendency - neurosis is a display of Khushi's invisible injuries.

Seeing Arnav with various 'murderous tools' in his hands all morning, she is convinced that he IS truly after her life. Her delusions cause her to take death into her own hands, and to die by her own hands rather than by anyone else's.

What does this tell you? Hmmm..? It tells that Khushi isn't that far gone... yet. She still maintains enough love for herself and others that she takes the time to make a will, leave her precious items for the others, and is willing to confront death on her own terms.

=================================================================

Now I want to move on to the other thoughts that struck me: The Terrace and The Impact of Suicide on Arnav.

THE TERRACE

The Terrace was where the blooming love story between Arnav and Khushi was cut short by a nasty thorn called Shyam. Arnav was just getting out of ASR's skin, and Khushi was realizing that she felt something for this man. A sweet confession between two people in love was however not destined for that day.

The Terrace was where Arnav had his infant love broken - a love he had been careful to let out. A love that he carried only for his sister till then. For the first time, that love was daring to come out of it's shell, but to what consequence? It reaffirmed ASR's belief that to love is to be weak. Power and money alone is what the world understands. There is no place for love.

The Terrace was the undoing of Khushi's steps toward love. In one moment her innocent, picture-perfect world collapsed in shambles as she saw the greed of a monster who wanted more than his share in life. This was soon followed by a further death of her values and morals when in order to save her sister's marriage she chose to marry the man she thought was her Rajkumar, but who know had taken the disguise of a Shaitan.

Once again now, the Terrace is going to be the scene of a Confrontation. The last time, it left two lovers disillusioned with the world. Will it close the gaps by widening the gaps between these two? There are gaps in understanding between them right now - a confession of the truth, a vocalization of the reasons may help close the gaps currently existing in the understanding, but it may also lead to the distancing between them too.

Remember the 'friction' and the widening of the cracks I said yesterday? Yeah.. that'll probably be it.

THE IMPACT OF SUICIDE/DEATH ON ARNAV

If there's one thing that touches the raw nerve of Arnav like no other, it is - DEATH of a person he loves. He has seen the death of his mother as a child. He has been left scarred with that incident. He hasn't allowed anything to cover that hole, that wound in his heart. He is still traumatized by it and he is still unable to cope with the idea of Death.

He is on extreme tenterhooks when Anjali talks about Death.
Remember the scene where she mentions to Khushi, that may her years be given to Khushi... and Arnav immediately forbids her from talking like that. he is highly disturbed on hearing anything to do with his loved ones dying.

So, will it be any different with Khushi's suicide attempt? I don't think so! He had already lost his nerve and heart when he though Khushi had faced an accident. He was so frightened at the time that he didn't realize how roughly he was shaking her while demanding to know why she had to leave like that, and what he would have done without her.

He has already softened his stance with her after hearing Garima's wishes that they live happily together. He can't see her face death, he can't see her die, and that is why he will go up there, in a highly disturbed state he will let his emotions take control over his mind. His heart will make him speak with Khushi's extreme action.

======================================================================

I admit that they could have handled the current suicide track in a better way. When I thought about it, i felt that if they had given a serious tone to it, it would have damged Khushi's character even more, but since it's been put in a slightly comic way - people can still put this down to Khushi's draamebaazi and child-like silliness. Anyway, Khushi would not have committed suicide even if Arnav had not gone there. I BELIEVE IN MY KHUSHI, she wouldn't have done it!

Wanted to write about the significance of her Will.. I'll carry it out in PART TWO tomorrow... 😊

Nia

Brilliant Nia...👏...I am glad somebody sides with khushi apart from me...and I love the part you have explained that by giving a comic touch to the suicide has actually stopped her character from damage...she is imagining herself to be a sacrificing queen who prefers to die with her own hands rather than the enemies...😃

Edit:

I'm not happy about how the episode was build up. On surface it did look like senseless comedy so I watched it again to get the hints that the CVs are so good at throwing at us. I dare to say the episode didn't really hit the spot. I think I'm going to sit with Thkumar Jhuli sometime to find the stories that Doods mentioned and re read them again. The episode reminded me of Aesop's Fables though. The messages always seemed cryptic to me when I read the stories.

What is with is haste of solving the misunderstanding within a week? They took over a month to build up to the revelation of the misunderstanding and now they are planning to solve it within 5-6 days of each other? Doesn't bode well.
