I think today's episode was for Khushi to get the answer for her question -

"How can he love his sis so much?"😭

Anjali fed him until he was regaled - I think he can see how unconditional Anjali's love is - so he opens up to her. He loves Khushi but the unconditionality is not conspicous to him - yet. 😳
