Wonderful description of Khushi tanthya. Hats off to you for bringing out such a beautiful character analysis from a what the???? episode.
I think the comic moments for this week are drawing to a close with Arnav's fainting spell unless he is trying to beat Khushi at her own game. Whatever the case, the gloom factor of MU marriage will overtake the comedy soon. Some intense scenes to rub in the hurt with rabba ve thrown in will create a somber mood by friday. We will await with bated breath to see how it will play out on Monday.

I am getting used to the weekly cycle of episodes-
a)2 days of comedy
b)2days of emotional drama.
c)1 day for the transitions from a to b or vice versa.
Noteworthy weekly additions- shirtless barun doses(tue or wed).😍

Tanthya I admire your ability to keep a positive outlook over all of this...as far as I am concerned my gun is still loaded and I'm very tempted to use it...
While yesterday's epi was bad (the throwing away his wardrobe replacing it by hawaian shirts was a totally cheap act *still shivering*) I found myself smiling here and there and that only thanks to Arnav's reaction!!
But today was absolutely cringeworthy. Not even the tikka scene did it for me...it was a few seconds long and it only portrayed Arnav's emotional turmoil...once again nothing came out from Khushi, that story is looking more one sided day by day...*sigh*
Seriously WTH was that barging into conference room scene 🤢 Without a thought for the Raizadas' reputation and complete disrespect for their work/source of income, hop she goes to fulfill her ludicrous fancy...one would think that considering the mess she found herself entangled in she would put all her time and energy in more urgent matters like let's say find a way to keep that lecherous pervert at bay at any cost..but nope not Khushi she's too busy being a 6 years old 😡🤢 And to add insult to injury it seems she has no qualms into purposely putting a person's health in danger as long as her goal is achieved..arey wah CVs wah what an idea...*shakes head in dismay*
Coming to ASR, for someone with a legendary temper I find him to be awfully subdued nowadays 😕
Didn't like that whole Ms.B thing too...Is she a relative? Where the hell did they meet and when did they get close?! I'm puzzled on how that could have happened...Anyway Aakash was way too much excited at the prospect of spending time with her...looked really weird to say the least 😕
All in all I find it increasingly easy to give IPK epis a miss ... very sad

@Doods, amazing! what an interpretation of the episode!!👏
This is my crib sheet - Most of the IF users look at the Redux thread for all the expert opinions and hidden messages, but for the main viewer who is watching the episode (TRP factoring viewer), it is not apparent and hence they are frustrated.
As you and @Tants pointed out, better treatment is required.

Wow! Doods awesome, awesome analysis. 👏 *Bows to you*

Thanks for explaining this whole raisin thingy. I knew there had to be a reason for bringing up a raisin into an episode like this. You are just fantastic, but can you imagine them dragging this whole Khushi realization track till the end of IPL?? If they are going to do it and using "pathetic" treatment like you pointed out, I'll be very, very upset with this show.

@ Tanths, lovely analysis yet again. 👏

@ Pam uh-mazing analysis 👏 especially on the clothes part, now that you mention it, I do remember that promo!! "Mat bulo, hamare kapade humein banate hain"

Wow! awesome as always, still waiting to read your complete analysis.

Sathu,doods and Pam...hello hi...hug do bhai...🤗

Sathu what a wonderful description of Khushi's plight, her state of mind before and after...brilliant as usual.👏..if from tomorrow onwards you just see a smiley face and no comments in my post...please understand it means that I am trying not to sound like a broken record and have run out of adjectives to describe your post...but mujhe chain kahan aaye ga beghair likhe...kuch to likh hi doon gi...so pls bear with my repitition😃

Doods...Kishmish???? How the hell did you pick that up??? I am awed...that was the only thing I did not pay attention to and was irritated on its mention a couple of times...goodness me...👏...what an amazing eye you have...it takes a really creative and intelligent mind to read between the lines and decipher what you can...are you sure you have never worked in this line before??...I mean the creative side of TV😳

Pam...Just read what you have updated so far...amazing...what a great explanation of the clothes part and striping of dignity and honor in there own homes...({khushi-GH and RM} and {Arnav-RM and AR office})...Also I can totally relate to what you said about her getting a jolt...I think she will get one tomorrow as per the pre-cap...or maybe another bigger one will be required..😕...looking forward to read more...😃

All in all I liked the episode and actually am enjoying and accepting them as they are coming...yes I agree on the whole it seems that the plot is static but your posts confirm the fact that character and emotional progression is there...a path is being prepared for the final dhishum to happen...how long is the path only the CVs know...!!

Before I get into serious analysis I'll need to talk to Gul Khan. I hope you are doing ok Gul. Let me show you some picture. When the first time I watched the episode, I watched it as any normal viewer would watch. You know what I felt??? I felt what is this CRAP??? Is this the way a Corporate works and is this the way you portray the corporate culture to the world in our country where the Boss's wife can just barge into a conference room and destroy the image of a family and interrupt her own upbringing??? Who is she kidding here??? Sabotaging Arnav's image or irritating Arnav at the cost of his and his family's image or herself??? For the sake of a normal viewer, let me ask you something??? Was there not any way to portray this track??? Did your creative team really fell short of ideas??? As I mentioned yesterday in my analysis, running a show is not an easy task and you need to take into consideration all the likes of all the demographics who loyally watches this show, IPKKND. You have to God damn it. 99% of the viewers don't really understand why you are showing Khushi like this and why Khushi and Arnav behave the way they behave. You got to show the current track in a very intelligent manner where you can satisfy all kinda demographics. The message that you put across in your episodes and why you emphasize on certain words or use similes or use metaphors or use the tracks to show the various layers of all the characters all goes unnoticed because the presentation or rather the "Treatment" is Pathetic. Khushi's goal of irritating ASR is not a bad track at all and it is much needed but while portraying that you have to be intelligent and informative also. People will always judge you in what you show and by the looks of it they will judge you as a production house whose logical cap has gone for a moonwalk. Show the same track with CONVICTION and with utter IMPORTANCE.No, this track is needed and it will lead to a MAJOR EXPLOSION of Khushi"s thought process but tell me frankly who understands this or rather I'll put it this way - Ask your audience what they think you are doing??? I'll tell you they will say - you are passing IPL fever just so that the intensity can be brought back and nothing else. Did you get this now??? The entire work of all your writers went down the drain just because the "Treatment" of the track is Nonsense. Audiences DO NOT have the time and interest to decode the hidden meanings in the episodes and you need to understand that. My only advice to you is don't lose your essence in storytelling but at the same time also portray keeping in mind the regular viewers.

Now, I'll tell my perspective. Today purposefully I watched the episode from 2 different eyes because whenever I watch it my eyes only look at the screen but my brain watches it. I analyze this serial just because your Aesthetic way of portraying; just because I love to read the layers of every character and the thought process of the writers; just because it is not a typical Ekta Kapoor's serial where the simple message is delivered with "Good wins over the Evil"; just because the story telling is so metaphoric and aesthetic; just because you deliver the message with finesse and your writers do work on the characters and their attributes. The first time I watched it as a normal viewer like I described above but second time I watched it with my regular eyes - you know what I figured the message of the episode??? I figured it long back though but today one word gave me the confirmation on my thought process and that word is - "Kishmish" yeah - "RAISIN". That single word took me straight to the writer's mind which I received yesterday with Anjali's one statement to Arnav - "Khushiji khush rahene ki koshish kar rahi hain". Did anyone realize why a 9 yr old is brought here??? No, it's not because "Bacche man ke sacche" but because of the conversation that she had with Khushi, her maturity, her lost childish tantrums, her sudden mental development. The only thing that irritated me is the Child Actor, who thoroughly disappointed me in the first episode of her's. Forget about the child and let's concentrate - yeah with that one word "Kishmish" I realized "WHY" this track is all about Khushi and Khushi only. With that one word I realized that the writers have visualized Khushi with the poem - "Harlem" by Langston Hughes.

Harlem by Langston Hughes

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up

like a raisin in the sun?

Or fester like a sore -

And then run?

Does it stink like rotten meat?

Or crust and sugar over -

like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags

like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

Dream. What is a dream??? We all have a dream and these dreams are precious for all of us. Right??? What happens when these dreams are deffered??? What happens when we dream and at the end we figure out that they are getting postponed and left unanswered??? What happens when we try and try and try to come closer to the dream but then are left untouched??? What happens when the minute and slightest chance of fulfilling this dream seems lost??? What do we do??? How do we feel??? Have you ever realized this??? Well I'll explain why this track is of Khushi and Khushi only and why "Kishmish" was purposefully included today. Allow me.

Let's come to the character named "Khushi Kumari Gupta". A girl who was not born an "Orphan" but was destined to be at the age of 8. The age when most girls play with their barbies, dress them up, throws party for them, arranges wedding for them amongst peers. All these generic dreams of a 8 yr old was never meant for Khushi. She could have never imagined a prince for her Barbie may be with a free mind; a girl of that age never realized what death is; what a disaster looks like. That girl was adopted by a family, a family which is her refuge, a family that brought her up with the best of values and traditions but at the same time the simple fact was never hidden from her that she is an "Orphan". A family that never blocked her of dreaming for her "Rajkumar" and she dreamt of a "Rajkumar".

Let me take you to the first episode where we saw Khushi on the road waiting in the traffic signal and one boy asked her, where is your "Rajkumar"??? At that moment her destiny was up in the sky in the chopper flying and passed her by. That was her Rajkumar and she didn't recognize. That moment she was a bubbly, fun-loving, healthy, cheerful, an optimist who always sees the glass as half full no matter how hard the time may be. She as exactly like a "Grape", moist, tout, loved by everyone. Religiously, grapes were brought out of the Promised Land represented the promise of a new life God made to the Israelites. But, that was a religious definition by an article, where here in this context, grapes are one fruit which have variety of uses, be it oil, wine, jam, jelly, grape seed extracts, vinegar or raisins. Here Khushi and her works are not compared with Grapes and it's various uses but it is her "DREAMS" and it's comparison with "RAISIN" is the MOST IMPORTANT fact here.

Let us go back to the "first heart break" that she experienced and my favourite episode Diwali. The Rajkumar finally came to her life and it was that auspicious night when the prince surprised her with her Mom's lost anklet. She was perplexed at his behavior, she couldn't figure out any single reason behind his actions but one thing she realized that there is some attraction and some appeal visible in his eyes which was crying out loud to her to understand him; for understanding his actions. She stood there by the pool stupefied but then he came closer to her and she decided to give herself to him that very moment, as she realized this is the man of her dreams; yes, her heart had spoken and she was waiting for him to make the first move and he did but wait, did he complete it??? No. the trance was over and he backed off; she didn't realize what happened but she knew there, something, that is missing the connection and wanted an answer; for sometimes it's not the expression of action that matters but "Verbal Declaration" is "Very very Important".Upon questioning he backed off and his wedding declaration to the world, thrashed her heart and "Dreams" of her Rajkumar forever; yes, he shattered her dreams and she experienced her FIRST HEART BREAK and broke down in her comfort zone. He came to her but only to show her the reality that her dreams are deferred.

Did her dream dry up like a raisin??? No, not yet, but it started to fester like a soar. She started running from him but fate had other plans and there he is again infront of him. What will she do now??? The soar didn't have a chance to dry up and it never healed and she ran from it and this is why she got engaged with Shyaam; just to run away from her Dream; from her Rajkumar.

Now, cometh her "second heart break". Her Rajkumar came into her life a-gain. By this time she realized she is destined to be in Raizada Mansion as her sister is getting married. But the issue is did her dream die when she experienced her first heart break??? No. It didn't die for love never dies. It just catches dust in time. She found a hope for her precious "Dream" and removed the dust and started feeling the "Dhak Dhak" for the same "Rajkumar" who broke her heart earlier. Again, she started weaving a dream and this time her prince was a bit extra expressive with her; this gave her hope for her dreams to be fulfilled; the dreams that she thought were deferred. But fate had other plans again for her as she was destined for her second heartbreak.

She went to the terrace with a desire that she had started to weave within, a home with her rajkumar; a place in the world where they both will build up their own world; a desire to live in the most coveted place in the world - Arnav's heart; with ears just to listen the 3 most beautiful words every human being long to hear; the embrace that she was longing to experience; the heartbeat that she wanted to count; the endearment that was meant only for her; each and every small dreams of her's were weaved that day but she fell into the embrace of the devil instead. She was flabbergasted with Shyaam's presence and forgot everything about her sister's wedding and realized that her Rajkumar needs to know about Shyaam; she determined to break the crudest truth to him. But could she??? No. Destiny played with her "Dreams" once again. The day which could have been the happiest day of her life has turned out to be the most cursed day of her life.

A girl who dreamt of a wedding with her Rajkumar, who waited for 18 years, survived one heartbreak, finally finds herself to be offered to be a "DOWRY" by the same "Rajkumar" in order to save her sister's marriage. WOW. Whatta destiny??? Is dreaming a CURSE??? Or dreaming is a SIN??? Above all she is not even told the reason behind her being a dowry and how in the hell her Rajkumar expect her to behave like a normal person in front of his family and her family??? The "Rajkumar" who she had given her heart has ripped her heart into two bled to death of her "innocence". For heaven's sake verbal explanation is needed and everything in this world cannot be understood only by actions. She needs to hear from his mouth. Can anyone tell me how can a girl fight with the circumstances when the reason for the same is not known??? No. She can't. Period. This was her second heartbreak by the same "Rajkumar".

For the second time her dreams are deferred a-gain and it looks like her deepest desires are stinking like a rotten meat. Isn't it??? Or crust and sugar over like a syrupy sweet??? Is she cursing herself now??? You bet she is for being a fool in loving the same man that she felt deserved her love; deserved her precious heart. The man humiliated her only single "Dream" of getting married in a respectable manner. Do you still want her to be mentally stable??? I won't expect at all at least for a girl aged 18.

Then comes her "third heart break". Due to Naani's insistence Khushi and Arnav had to enact a scene from Heer-Ranjha, the eternal lovers. Can anyone imagine how Khushi must have felt there??? Pathetic would be the word for a girl who longed for love from her "Rajkumar" but always in vain who had been asked to enact the scene of Heer 'Ranjha with the same man who broke her heart twice. I must say God never give any girl a destiny like her's. Have a look at the second stanza of the poem ' at this juncture her dream that was left unfulfilled may-be just sags trying to carry this heavy load, the burden of all the questions till date unanswered; frustrated she was when she said after Arnav asked "batana mujhe kab aana hain" that ' "phir aapke zindagi ki sabse aachi ghadhi aayegi' Hum mar jayenge". She finally realized and accepted that this dream will never be fulfilled and that this dream of her's has DIED forever.

But then destiny played the crude part a-gain for the third time when her "Rajkumar" the mighty Arnav Singh Raizada finally "VERBALIZED" his heart to her. That moment when he said ' "Tumhare bina Ranjha kuch nehin hain Heer", tears rolled out of her eyes; yes she cried for this is the first time she heard him say those words which she longed to hear; for this is the first time her deepest desire seems to be coming to fruition; what if he has said under the mask of Ranjha; what if she has said while he was acting??? She knew that he had spoken from his heart for her heart felt that moment; her heart felt those words were golden; for she felt she was never wrong in reading him and her heart was never wrong in understanding him. She was happy when she went to the green room as her "Rajkumar" had finally verbalized his emotions to her. Happily she requested him to complete the sentence but she was thrashed A-GAIN for the third time by the same "Rajkumar". Can anyone imagine her "State of mind"???

The bubbly girl once who was sportive today has become erratic. Can you blame her??? No. You CANNOT. For heaven's sake how many times can you converse with a "ROCK"??? What happens when you talk to a "Rock"??? Answer me??? Yes, it reflects back to you like an "ECHO". That was happening with Khushi then and this is happening with her now. Time and again this girl is HURT at the same place all the time. When is her "Heart" getting the time to heel??? The moment she seems to come back to life, this "Rajkumar" comes back to her to hurt her again and again. Can any person be sane at this juncture??? No. I am Sorry, but No one can maintain "Sanity". Absolutely No One. She is irritated today and look she is not irritated at Shyaam, is she?? No. She is irritated with the one person who rules her heart; the one person who she has given the "Authority" to be her King; the one person who never is vocal about his emotions and always expresses behind a mask ' be it fake romance, be it challenge, be it an act, be it in trance, be it anything but never in "Reality". I support her on her irritation with Arnav but the only thing I don't support is the "Treatment" of the track. She is irritated with the people who has all the answers but have decided to remain silent; yes that man is none other than Arnav Singh Raizada, her Rajkumar.

Wait for the day she gets one "HINT" from her prince and how she forgets everything A-GAIN and starts loving him like never before; how she encloses him in her heart for not to lose this moment again.

Today's episode talked about how her "Dreams" dreams dried up like a raisin in the sun. The only question that today's episode asked - "Did Khushi's Dream dry up / Like a raisin in the sun?". Here the emphasis was not given on the appearance or the sweetness of the raisin, so the description isn't as significant as an image as it is as a simile, basically "a figure of speech". Why many authors compared a dream deferred to a raisin? Here we can see the raisin, which used to be a moist, taut, healthy-looking grape, has shriveled up to become a raisin just like once Khushi's "Dream" was bubbly, cheerful, colorful like a grape but now it has become like a raisin, a dream deferred shrivels up and turns dark because the sun has baked it. How truthful is it, isn't it??? Yes, time and again her dream was shattered and thrashed and crushed by Arnav Singh Raizada and like the sun bakes the grapes into a raisin, Khushi's dream have become like a raisin with time. Like the raisin, her dream has been on hold for a long time-consequently and she has been transformed into something, which we cannot relate to now; yes, we don't relate to this Khushi, you know why??? Because she is transformed now into something that she never was before. Unemotional. Can anyone blame her??? No. No one. Like people wouldn't believe that "Raisins" and "Grapes" are the same as their appearance are so different same way, the Khushi we knew 10 months back and the Khushi we know now have hell and heaven of a difference and time and situation is to be blamed and no one.

This is where the small girl fits in. She came to resemble Khushi, that's why her name is "Babli" as in to represent our "Bubbly Khushi"; she loves "Kishmish" only to realize Khushi that her dreams are not withered and they can be achieved and there is still chance; she came to prove how Khushi is matured than her age; Hope like the last paragraph of the poem ' which is a metaphor that when your emotions are bottled up and your dreams are shattered then your heart might explode or can this small girl bring back the real Khushi here and save her from exploding??? Well only time will tell and I guess that is why she is here.

After a long time, I have seen an "Episode" where the message is delivered with so much thinking. Kudos to the writers who emphasized that Khushi's "Dreams" dried up like a "Raisin" with time.

P.S. I am still proof reading but the matter is ready. So, Happy Reading 😃

Fabulous Doods
... Kishmish and Khushi ... no words to applaud your tremendous insight ... you have hit the nail on the head .
