hello everyone !! 😊 !!! I just wanted to ask a question regarding the relationship between arnav and lavanya before they broke up. we all know arnav never believed in love or any other such emotion 😭 so why was he in a relationship with lavanya ????? and why did he want a live-in relationship with her ? was that to shut up nani 😆 about the marriage thing or was he attracted towards her in a sexual way 😲 ???? and if he would have been allowed to share his room with lavanya wud they have u know *ahem ahem * ???????

I have a whole theory and interpretation of Arnav and Lavanya's relationship

We see Arnav as a business tycoon, young, rich, the ultimate bachelor who doesn't hold very high regard for women because he considers them to be gold diggers after his money. He's afraid of getting hurt after all that has happened with his mother and family.

So when Lavanya comes along, a rich, educated, modern girl who seems the antithesis of his family, who seems obviously interested in him, he engages in a relationship with her because

1. It's convenient

2. It'll keep all the other girls at bay

3. She's pretty much perfect - a little ditzy, smart enough to get the office work done, doesn't question him, puts up with his temper, etc.

He doesn't get into a relationship with her because of Nani - Lavanya had her own apartment and Arnav has been there. Despite what people think, in the context of the show, they have had a sexual relationship - a casual one - with feelings from her part, but not real ones from his.

Arnav cared for Lavanya, but did not love her.

I think he finally began to respect her after she started changing for his family's approval and finally stood up to him for the first time when she broke up with him and demanded he confront his feelings for another woman and refused to take his crap anymore

But actually she did not break up with him right? He broke up with her. She really didnt want to hear it, and said that though she suspected it from some time, she still held on to the realtionship. To me it really did not look like not wanting to take his 'crap' anymore. He realized that he was way too much into Khushi, and broke up with Lavnya

Fantastic analysis! I agree with all the points made above. I think the Arnav / Lavanya relationship is a really fascinating one actually, and said alot about who ASR was when the show first began. It was definitely a sexual relationship to some extent. It must have been, right? At least before she moved into the house? It's a little ambiguous. But, all in all, I think you're totally right - she was convenient for him. He basically used her, which was in line with the ASR personality at that time. But, grew to respect her, which is why he ultimately let her go.

i disagree with you about the part where u say that they might have had a sexual relationship cuz :

1.u must have noticed that arnav was never the one for physical contact with lavanya . it was she who was always hugging him or pecking him , the only time he ever hugged her was when they they were at her apartment with khushi and as far as i think it was just to gauge khushi's reaction ! so arnav used lavanya just as an arm candy to keep all the girls away.

2: he always said that the only relationship he had was with his sister and he is intelligent enough to understand that having a physical relationship with anyone is a big thing and not just a play thing .

3: if he ever had had a physical thing with lavanya it wud have been brought to light in the show cuz the cvs never leave out a chance to show how ruthless arnav can be and so they wud have surely shown how he uses a girl without any actual feelings for her .

4: and just becuz he has been to her apartment does not mean that they were in a physical relationship . thats a weak point to say that they were in a sexual relationship .

5: if he wud have been in a sexual relationship with lavanya . he wud have surely told anjali or maybe she wud have had that figured that out herself and as a conservative woman she wud have wanted her brother to get married to lavanya . the only reason anjali agreed with arnav for his live-in relationship with lavanya was bcuz she knew nani won't allow that.

6: and if arnav was actually sexually attracted to lavanya y didnt he ever share an intimate moment with her when she was living at his place ??????

so the only reason arnav and lavanya were in a relationship was bcuz :

1: he wanted to keep away the other girls.

2: he didnt want to be continuously badgered by nani to get married .

3: and lyk u said she was smart enough to do the office work and used to put up with his temper .

i dont think so he ever engaged in a sexual relationship with her

(may be getting *job from her in her😳 process of seduction i think )..but not of intercourse type .

Because he not so old ..so that he could get frustrated and desperte to have woman

, above all he always mention about the dee and her lehaz or something like that ..like moral values that his dee taught him ..

so he will be a virgin

and relationship with lavanya will be for convenience , evntually he might be planning to have a live in , sexual with her ..if he ever feel that need and lavanya will be perfect ..because she cant be a gold digger as she is rich herself ..

above all a person like Lavanya ..will not be a sex slave for him ..

she got values modern , but i dont think she will let her use sexually and next moment bark at her ..no proud woman will allow to do that ...(if married or in love ok .)

she was blod enough to walk off from that relationship when she felt he insulted her when he proposed ..

so it was never sexual ...i guess
