We are still in the misunderstanding phase. During a big fight between Arnav and Khushi, Khushi suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed to the floor.
We are now in hospital and the doctor is talking to the family. Khushi is still unconscious and Arnav is feeling very guilty.
Dr: Who is the husband of the patient?
A: Its me. What has happened to her? When will she regain consciousness? Its only stress you know. Its because of me, we were fighti...
Dr: Mr Raizada, I understand your fear but I need to explain something. Its not only stress. We are trying to figure out what is she suffering from. Her BP is falling drastically and her heart beats are very slow.
The doctor took a pause and tried to talk as calmly as possible as he scanned every face of the Raizada and Gupta family. This was never easy."The husband is going to completely break down" he thought.
He continued: "She is drifting away Mr Raizada and we are not being able to do anything to stop it".
There was a stunned silence in the hospital corridor. Everybody was trying to assess this last part of information. And then suddenly, a painful cry left Garima's throat. Buaji, Payal,Anjali and Nani ji immediately went by her side but they could not control their tears either.
Arnav Singh Raizada, felt a sudden urge of pure rage. He looked at her through the door glass and murmured "You are not doing this to me Khushi Kumari Gupta... Singh Raizada. You CANNOT do this to me. I am not letting you go...are you hearing me?"..he finished in a whisper feeling his knees weakening as he fell to the floor.
The doctor advised that only one person could stay. This was going to be very bad. The loss of a young girl, specially newly married, was very difficult to handle.
Arnav looked at Garima and Babuji. "Please let me stay", he pleaded. He promised to call if there was anything.
As everybody was leaving, he entered the room and his gaze remained fixed on her face . He hated her. He hated her for doing this to him. He could not even control his tears. He fell in the sofa next to the bed. He held her hand to his heart. "one dhadkan, remember Khushi? come back to me khushi, come back to me".
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up and saw Shyam looking at Khushi. He was about to order him to get out when Shyam interrupted him.
"It was never her fault Arnav. I lied. I cannot let her go like this. I stayed as a PG in Buaji's house for 2 months and got engaged to her. When she got to know who I am, she broke the engagement. What you saw on the terrace was only part of the truth. I was forcefully grabbing her. ..I am a vile person but I have a heart Arnav. ..Ask anybody of the Gupta family for the truth. They will tell you. I am sorry".
With that he left the room and Arnav lost the little bit of self control he had on his emotions. He let out a loud scream of pain and lifted Khushi from the bed. He hugged her while his tears drenched her face.
Khushi Kumari Gupta was feeling very light suddenly. She did not feel any pain..she actually did not feel anything. She was walking on a road and she was smiling very softly. She looked ahead of her and saw that there was gate. On the other side, there was green pasture with rose flowers everywhere..red roses, the one she loved. Her smile broadened as she noticed silhouettes walking on the grass.. Two of them were waving at her, they were smiling..Khushi looked at them carefully and recognised them instantly. "Amma, babuji?"..
" We are losing her, bring the defibrillation machine..come on, one two three" the doctor counted as he spread a jolt of electricity in Khushi's body. Arnav was frantic. He was panicking, he did not know what was going on. He wanted to run to her but somebody was holding him. He was in a nightmare . This could not be happening. He was screaming now.."KHUSHI,PLEASE...don't leave, please"...
Dr: "Ok, she's back, very weak heartbeats, but she is here. Do you want a nurse to stay with you Mr Raizada?". "No", he replied determined. "I will keep my hand on her heart till she wakes up".The Dr did not know what to reply. He just nodded and left.
Arnav unbuttoned her hospital gown and put his hand directly on the flesh, feeling her heart beat. She was here, she was still with him. He looked through the window and stared at the stars. He knew how much she believed in them.."Ma, I know you are hearing me... I have tried to handle myself and Di after you ..I won't be able to do this again. You know what she means to me..don't do that, I'm begging you...please.."
Khushi was walking towards the gate and there was a force pulling her towards her parents when she heard a voice calling her backwards. She turned and saw her..
Sunlight spread into the hospital room as The Gupta family entered. Arnav's eyes had not left khushi once and his hand was still on her heart. He did not hear anybody. He was just looking at her. He was scared that if he tore his gaze from her, she was going to leave him.
The Dr and nurses came. They ordered everybody to leave. Shyam and Akash had to literally drag Arnav out of the room...but his eyes never left her, never.
The Doctor came out a few moments later and came to stand directly in front of Arnav Singh Raizada.
Doctor: "Mr Raizada, your wife has survived the night and I am very happy to tell you that her heart beats are becoming more and more regular. I don't know what you did but she listened!..She is coming back. She may regain consciousness any moment now. We will then assess her mental state."
Khushi wanted to open her eyes but she could not. Her eye lids were too heavy.. She tried again. Nothing. She tried to think why she wanted to open her eyes..why? "he needs you"..the lady had said."yes, he needs me, I cannot leave him." And with that, she tried one last time with all her strength as her eyes flickered open.
Ten pairs of eyes were staring at her as she opened hers..but there there was only one which was piercing her soul..she looked at him, she felt him..and then, Arnav Singh raizada raised up from his sofa, leaned on the bed and gave his wife a very long and sweet kiss on the lips in front family..Naniji gasped but smiled. She did not have the strength to stop her grandson and deep down, she did not want to.
As Arnav broke the kiss, Khushi said : "You look awful, Arnav ji".
And with that, everybody shared a laugh of relief. Their sanka devi was back.
Three hours later, everybody was surrounding her as Khushi related how she had seen her parents. Arnav was staring at her at the back of the room and could not hide his broad smile. She had not stop talking since the last three hours. He has been listening to every word of how she had met her parents and a strange lady and thought that his wife was totally crazy, but that's what he loved most about her..he could not help a laugh.
She was going on and on, when something she said caught his attention.
K :"And yes, now I remember,Anjali di, the lady told me to ask you. Did somebody leave a letter for me with the bangles?"..
And with that, for the next 5 seconds, Arnav Singn Raizada's heart ceased beating.
