The question is the women to whom it applies to then and now. How much has the percentage changed?
In my country it depends a lot on the social class of the particular person. Social class that is financially defined.
Behaviour from khushi's family was expected for me...if they could say you are not my blood to an orphan before, I knew they will say it again. Thinking it would be Garima not buaji. She is the one who forced her to get engaged to Shyam and never said sorry. Khushi never said you could do this to me cos you are not my blood...

Thanks for commenting showstruck.
I mentioned the same ...that poem did and does not apply to all women. But it does apply to most of the societies be it eastern or western. And I believe till date the number it applies to is quite big. It has not much to do with the financial bracket initially.
Ofcourse later financial freedom comes into play.

Take for e.g it applies to Anjali ( high social class) --she is pregnant, husband cheating...in the end will be left alone with tears and a baby to bring up. It applies to Khushi (middle class) Used by a male of high social class, will be left after 6 months, crying and no where to go, financially broke, baby or no baby to bring up..who knows...I mean its just an e.g. we see many such stories every other day. esp. in western world, every other home is a broken home. The lady is single mom, husband cheated or got bored or didn't find her compatible and left. (There is vice-versa too but that's another topic.)
Ofcourse now the lady in question is financially independent but the heartbreak, tears and kids were hers then and are hers now.

P.s we are talking generalized e.g. here, not specific.

And you are right...Khushi never said to buaji you did this to me...cuz im not ur blood. a very valid point.👍🏼

Mein Theek Hoon...Aapke waje se nahin...Aapke bawajoot bhi!!!
Thats Khushi...we just kept seeing her Vivacious goofy self everday and sort of overlooked the woman in her...
The CVs know what they are showing...Patience...tolerance...respect...sacrifice..These are not to be underestimated...They form the core nature of strong individulas,,be it women or Men...
WE could actually see the stronger one here...Khushi stood there...fighting..looking down at her feet but not letting her feet run away...staying there was her Biggest Victory yesterday!! ASR could not do it!! When he wrongs...he cannot own up!! Khushi could stand there because her heart is clear ..she knew she was not wrong but she was not given a choice...But she stayed👏
La cannot be compared here...she probabaly would never compromise...even for her own blood...Most of us wont...But there are few who do...and they shouldnt be deemed weak becoz they did it!! ASR too did wht he did for his sis...HE felt he didnt have a choice...KKG did what she did for her Sis...She too felt she didnt have a Choice...
Maybe we are underestimating them...The fact that they tried to do something which could cost them their love...their honor and yet went ahead...so that a life which is yet to come can be saved...tells U something about these two!!
Thanx for the lovely post👏Loved the Quote!!Ur floating thoughts make lots of Sense!!😊

Wow...what an awesome trail of thought...himabindu . Love your analyis of how strong Khushi is and how she stood there!! she knew she was not wrong but she was not given choice...but she stayed...gives me goosebumps! 👏
Now that you say, maybe we r undersetimating them...seems somewhat right...both sacrificed,
albeit, one wronged the other in the process. How will they revive the hurt emotions, lost respect and love between them...will be something to watch...and see how CVs have planned it.
I'm so heart broken with Khushi's plight...want CVs to handle it delicately and bring back her dignity and everything she lost here.
Again fabulous comments about La too.
