OK folks...here is a post for the weekend... The topic is...Arhi marriage...which was long awaited as a sweet candy ...but was delivered like a punch on the face...
Lets look at what is a marriage...
Marriage (or wedlock) is a social union or legal contract between people that creates kinship. The definition of marriage varies according to different cultures, but is usually an institution in which interpersonal relationships, usually intimate and sexual, are acknowledged. Such a union, is often formalized via a wedding ceremony.
Rights and obligations
A marriage bestows rights and obligations on the married parties, and sometimes on relatives as well, being the sole mechanism for the creation of affinal ties (in-laws). These may include:
  1. Giving a husband/wife or his/her family control over a spouse's sexual services, labor, and property.
  2. Giving a husband/wife responsibility for a spouse's debts.
  3. Giving a husband/wife visitation rights when his/her spouse is incarcerated or hospitalized.
  4. Giving a husband/wife control over his/her spouse's affairs when the spouse is incapacitated.
  5. Establishing the second legal guardian of a parent's child.
  6. Establishing a joint fund of property for the benefit of children.
  7. Establishing a relationship between the families of the spouses.

These rights and obligations may vary between societies, and between groups within society.

So, how many of these aspects did Arnie think about when he proposed a marriage to KKG...right there and then...?😃
My guess...? 1/3rd of #1 only😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Obviously #7...which is like #2 or even #1 in the Indian culture also did not occur to him...
Of course the above deals with the "legal" meaning of a marriage...there are "religious" and "social" meanings of marriage as well...From a religious point of view...traditionally, the main purpose of a "marriage" is to procreate...and from a soial point of view...it is a recognition between a long term committment between a man and a woman...
Also something that Arnie has not thought about...😃
So is he thinking anything at all...or just went through a knee jerk reaction...
Shyamu wants my girl...and wants to leave my sis...
Let me just marry her and it wil solve all problems...But wait...let me do it for only 6 months as the world will change in 6 months because...
  1. In 6 months...Shyamu will not want her anymore?
  2. In 6 months my sis will not be so desperate to save her own marriage?
  3. In 6 months...I will have a new interest and won't care about KKG?
  4. In 6 months...the world will be totally different than what it is now...so all the problems will take care of themselves...

Seriously Arnie...Are you thinking at all?

That is what baffles me.. The Arshi poolside conversation has been analyzed to death and it is now a known fact that the 6 months was added later.. Just a marriage with clauses regarding adultery would have made so much more sense, why they added the 6 months later, I am not able to comprehend.. However, someone had mentioned in another post that he wants to break the truth to Anjali after her delivery and let Khushi and Shyam go their own way.. This is the only explanation that seemed rational to me..

Sush - Do you think any man knows his rights before he gets into a marriage?🤣

Hmm...I would say, I think not or should I say --NA--- on all except #1?😆😆😆

Maybe to proudly announce "I am the man of the house" when the woman does everything around the house and then some...🤣

Arnie's reasons for the 6 month timeline

  1. In 6 months time...Anjie realizes she doesn't need a sperm donor. Me, my dost & chote! Perfect family...😆 Kahi tumhe jalan tho nahi horahi hai... Dumbest dialogue to date when she sees him teary...Sush - Please don't get me started on Anjie...😆😆😆 Do you now realize why Shyam is so psychotic? She drove him over the edge...🤣
  2. In 6 months time...after several missed attempts...a desperate Shyamu thinks the easiest think to do, to take his own life...🤣 He is in control there😆
  3. In 6 months time...Shyamu realizes why am I trying all these women who don't care for me and declares he is indeed gay, a never before seen moment on Indian TV...🤣
  4. In 6 months time...The big dhamaka...CV's realize contract marriage didn't raise the TRP's so lets try the time- tested fake pregnancy track & call it "AS SEEN ON TV" moment...🤣

Act in haste (mixed with a good dollop of anger), repent at leisure...that's been his MO all along...and that's the lesson he's going to learn from this...calm down and THINK before you act!!

Nice post. 👏

That all being said, I don't think my husband even thought about #2 - #7!!! And as you say...probably about a third of #1 !!! So really...they're all the same...fictitious or not! 😆

Sush, certainly good questions for the writers - the retrofitted 6 months clause is baffling.

preetijaiswal19, lovekkg: unsatisfying but the best explanation I can think of too. Given the nazuk haalat of his newly pregnant Di he buys time to spill the beans on her unworthy husband - figures 6 months gives him adequate time to find the right moment. Second, it is about vengeance on the cheating pair --- that they can't get together until he says so and he gets first dibs on marrying Khushi. All of this still holds even without a 6 months proviso, so that is still very puzzling to me. If anything Khushi can be trapped in a loveless marriage for life, and Arnav holds all he cards and can get rid of her whenever he sees fit.

I can only imagine that the 6 months proviso is a specific contrivance for a plot point down the road. Perhaps Khushi holds Arnav to his contract of releasing her in 6 months. He is loath to let her go, but she exerts her rights per contract and leaves anyway. Arnav discovers the truth and is tortured, guilty and crazed until he gets her back.

Sari: 😆😆😆 at your post!

He only thought about his sister and to protect her for the time being or till he figures out hoe to deal with Shyam.
This also should make it even harder for Khushi to forgive him...she is nowhere in his thought process. For her this the most important relationship someone can have and he showed no respect at all.
But, in time he will make up for it all. Saw thier new photos for Star Parivaar Award. They look so cute as a couple. I decided to stay stiff and go through this painful phase.

Ha ha...no offence @lovekkg...but Arnie planning Shyamu and KKG to have their way is farthest from any logic I can imagine Arnie or ( I in Arnies position) will have...However, breaking the news after delivery makes sense only thing tha does not is the 6 month period...unless the gestational period for snakes is less than humans.. 😆

Sari...good ones dear...!!

May be Arnie is planning to make his life so miserable that Shyamu will have no choice to kill himslef by then...
