I think the problem with Indian television is that they try to reach audiences by creating a story and apparently what better story than to show a young, innocent girl like khushi's story. I couldn't agree more that the level of aggression and passion ( I call it this, you call it domestic violence) is a bit much and every time I see something like him dragging khushi or him hurting khushi, I cringe endlessly. If a man did this to me, ever, I'd be sure to rip the guy apart and not take it, no matter what.

It isnt this show alone- theres a slew of shows out there that thrive on saas-bahu dramas, some form of aggression that leave a long lasting mark on iimpressionable minds and think its okay to behave in a particular way. Society will then start accepting things like this as part of life.

Trust me, I'm a huge huge fan of ipkknd but I'd like to see Arnav mature a bit- yes, he's an angry young man- well, get therapy and get some anger management lessons and channel the anger appropriately. I am hoping this level of passion and aggression doesn't increase because it will make it difficult for me to justify watching the serial.

I know that when Arnav finds out the truth, he will be devastated and so guilt trodden but this is no way to behave with a woman, no matter what. I understand that it is a figment of fiction and just a serial but sometimes, it's too ingrained in our lives and becomes part of our life.

I'm hoping this misunderstanding phase ends fast.

What also bothers me is that a sizeable number of women on this forum are not even women yet (in their teens!!). Most are unmarried and have little experience with "MEN". They are drooling on a character like ASR! Think of what expectations they are setting for themselves when they enter into a relationship with a man. 😕

I had read a post a while back from a girl in UK that proudly proclaimed that she was 17 and her fiance' was very much like ASR (28 yr. old; not showing her concern overtly and being possessive ... can't recall all of it, but I was shocked that this girl thought she was blessed!). 😲If you are reading this, girl, I am sorry. I don't mean any offense; it's just my view.

ipkknd_2011 - I think i remember reading something like that too. Sad, sad, sad. I am only 24 and met my husband who is 26 right now around my 21st birthday. If he had treated me the way ASR treats Kushi, I would have told him to shove it and walked away then and there.. Honestly, he reminds me more of NK. Makes me laugh and calls me beautiful.

ASR is a great fictional character that I drool over. But a wee bit too much for real life!

Congratulations! Always happy to see women that speak up and stand up for themselves and each other (don't get me wrong, I am no feminist by a long shot, but I do believe in dignity and respect for every person).

I said it then and I repeat now, this has got to stop. But this show is not the worst of it. There are other shows on Indian Television that does much worse. I have many bones to pick with these other shows as well. IPK comes off as amateurish when compared to these other shows who have raised abuse and violence to an art.

Phew!! I know this is not how things should be done. I am seriously thinking of exercising my TV remote right to switch!!

Folks, the same stuff in an M&B feels dangerous - the predatory male, staking his claim, blah!

Just realize it's fiction and fantasy and no self respecting woman would take abuse of any sort - emotional or physical.

Take a chill pill folks!! 😉
