The episode was phenomenal! The best they had delivered to us and it was also like an answer to the thousand feverish prayers I sent above asking for fulfillment.
Dread filled me when they were questioned by the family. I dreaded his reaction, dreaded what he will say, what more havoc will he wreck and surprising me he remained silent. The mute companion beside him, his better half, his wife was then shaken up for answers, screamed at for answers. Yet she remained mute, protecting him, protecting both their families. And through protecting him she protects herself, herself from a fate worse than any other. And that is where Shyam comes in, by withholding this truth of a faade of a marriage she drapes herself in a shield, that shield is her husband, Arnav Singh Raizada.
For everyone's eyes they married because they couldn't be without each other, and that would be the conclusion they will eventually come up to. And hs family family meaning, Anjali and nani will eventually come to this conclusion that it was just him being him, why he hid it, they will never guess. As for her family after the initial shock and anger they will accept her, not because of any love for her (at least not from the woman who calls herself her mother) but because their other daughter is also married to the same family. And not accepting the alliance of the most powerful person in that family would be bad for their beloved Payaliya.
And now comes the defining moment of this entire exhilarating episode, the slap. Her mother questioned her, berated her and the moment words of acceptance left her lips she was slapped, slapped so hard that her petite form flung away. She flung away only to hit the strong chest of her husband, whose arms went around her in one protective instance and his eyes, filled with uncontrollable anger at the woman who had dared to touch his special angel raised. The eyes were filled with pure venom for daring to hurt her, and this moment proved that he would walk to the very gates of hell if it meant protecting her, saving her, sheltering her.
In his anger he might hurt her, but anyone else laying a hand on his princess? No way in hell! He will murder if he has to, but he will not allow her to get hurt by someone else.
But will he ever let her know? Nope he will not, and that is why the moment her tear filled eyes raised to look at him he averted his eyes, knowing his eyes were filled with nothing but tenderness, tenderness which surpassed even the murderous rage he was filled with the moment her mother had raised her hand on her. I thought this was one earth shattering moment, even higher in magnitude than the anger he had displayed earlier on behalf of her, and that was cz he proved that for him she will always be his salvation. Not even for his own di had his anger slipped away so soon, but for Khushi the moment his focus went to her fragile being held in his arms even he didn't realize how his anger ebbed away as if it had never been there, as overwhelming concern engulfed him. And this was an instinctual reaction, he never intended to, it just happened, as if it was as natural as breathing was.
And then comes his moment of guilt, when buaji took on from where Garima left off and Khushi shared one pain filled glance with him and she faced buaji alone, once again. Those downcast eyes, not being able to meet with anyone's eyes hurt him more than it hurt her to stand there and face all the anger. His helplessness to protect her from this moment, cz he was bound too, bound to protect this secret even from her.
There moments ASR was nowhere in sight, just Arnav was there, Arnav who loved this fragile girl in his arms more than his life. There is actually no need for Arnav to fight with ASR to come out, cz SHE brings him out, without even trying as if it is her birthright..
