Leaves were being blown around the floor, you could hear the pitter patter of feet walking around, the hustle and bustle of the busy train station was taking over everything. In a corner on the brown wooden bench Khushi was sitting down, holding on to a photo of her beloved, tears streaming down her eyes, trying not to break down and think about what had happened a few hours ago. What was supposed to be the happiest day of her life had clearly turned out to be the worst. She couldn't even celebrate her own jiji's wedding with excitement but instead she was forced to take such steps that would not only cause her jiji and family pain but herself too.
FLASHBACK
She was watching her jiji get her dream wedding, the phera's were going on and her jiji had smile like a Cheshire cat on her face. This made her smile too, but soon her smile turned into a frown when she felt herself being dragged by someone to the poolside. She turned around to see who had dared to drag her from her own sisters wedding, to find him glaring at her with anger.
'Arnav ji?, aap?, why did you drag me here?' she asked him
He continued staring at her, thinking how long she could carry this innocent charade on.
'I know!' he gritted, while curling his fists by his sides.
Her forehead creased in confusion.
'What do you know?' she asked
'Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about!' he growled looking at her taking a step forward.
She took a step back 'But I don't know' she whispered.
'I know about you and my so called jija ji, I'..' he took a deep breath.'I saw you both hugging!' he finished off while looking at her.
She took a breath in, what must he be thinking she thought, I think I should tell him everything she said to herself.
'Who Arnavji it's not what you think, I can explain, I was looking for you but I couldn't find you' she tried to explain.
'Bas Khushi Kumari Gupta!' he shouted! He took another step towards her, with her taking a step back until she was against the wall.
'I don't know what you think you are doing, but I will not tolerate anyone messing with my di's life!' he growled at her.
'Woh Arnav ji! Let me explain! It's not my fault!.' She tried telling him but he would not listen to her instead he locked her in the cage of his arms.
She gulped not knowing what to do. She could tell he was angry but he couldn't just dismiss the fact and blame her for his perverted brother in law! No she wouldn't let herself feel like that! She had a right to explain herself and so she will!
'Khushi! I warned you, and to think I was actually changing my view about you, but stupid me!' he said in a low whisper.
That was the last straw. Khushi brought her hands out to his arms dragging them down, breaking the cage he had around her.
'ENOUGH ARNAV JI! Enough! You can't blame me for all this! I will not let myself take the blame for you brother in law! I didn't even do anything ! you are saying about the hug aren't you! Well here's a question for you, did you see me recuperate the hug? Did you hear me saying I love him? Did you see me happy while he was there? Did you see me like his presence? Did you see the uncomfortableness with him? Did you see the anger I had?' she asked him looking at him in the eyes.
He looked at her baffled at what to say next. 'No I didn't see that, but what I saw was more than enough!' he replied.
'Well that's not enough for me! I don't like him! He's the one who made his move on me! I don't love him, in fact I hate his presence, I thought you had wrote the note on the mirror and that is the only reason I came on the terrace! I thought you wanted to talk to me! I thought you wanted to be with me! I thought you called me! I thought you'd understand me! I thought you'd let me know what you think of me! Least of all did I expect him to be there! I tried to get away from him Arnav ji but I was tired! Tired from fighting from him! Tired of getting him to appreciate Anjali ji!' she said
'Appreciate Di?! More like you told him to leave her!' he shouted.
'No Arnav ji I told him to leave her because I know Anjali ji deserves someone way better than him! Do you know what pain he has caused me Arnav ji! He's the reason that that I had to go through so much pain. He's the reason I was crying on the sangeet night, remember when you saw me. He hurt me, he caused those bruises! He stayed in my house as a paying guest, saying he's a lawyer and doesn't have a house, he tried to marry me, but when I found out about his marriage I threw the ring on his face! Remember that day I bumped into you and I was crying that was the day I found out Arnav ji! I have had enough Arnav ji! He's psychotic! He needs to get help! I don't LOVE HIM ARNAV JI!' Khushi finished.
'Well Khushi you don't love anyone except money!' he stated.
'THAT'S NOT TRUE! I LOVE YOU!' she screamed, having enough of his insults!
'It's you! You that I love! Not him! Not NK! BUT YOU!!' she said while grabbing on to his shirt collars.
'OH STOP IT! YOU NEVER LOVED ME! YOU LOVED MY DAULAT, MY WEALTH, MY STATUS, MY MONEY, MY NAME!' he said while taking her hands of his collar.
Khushi moved back, hurt at his accusations and what he thought of her. No she couldn't stay back here knowing what he thought of her. She couldn't live here with him there all the time looking down at her.
'I want you to marry me' she heard him say. She looked up at him wide eyed.
'what? Why?' she asked gulping.
'Because I need to protect my di's marriage and I'm guessing you want your sisters to go ahead?' he said turning towards her.
'What are you trying to say?' she asked, hoping what she thought was wrong.
'I'm saying if you want your sisters marriage to go ahead, then you will marry me' he said matter of factly.
She gulped and ran away from there. She couldn't do it. She didn't want to do it. This wasn't what was supposed to happen.
