I rarely write FF, i only read for others and comment on them. But i actually thought about this scene and decided to write something!I hope that you will like it. I apologize in advance for the errors in grammar and verbs!
Arnav was driving and realised that something was wrong with the car but decides not to say anything to Anjali. When arriving near GH, he sees Khushi suddenly crossing in front of him with baskets of flowers in her hands and she does not notice the white SUV approaching. Arnav tries to apply the brakes but unsuccessfully. Khushi now sees the car coming on her and is so fear stricken that she cannot move. At the last minute, Arnav strives the car on the right in order to avoid Khushi and crashes badly against a tree.
Khushi and Anjali couldn't believe what was happening. Khushi ran to the car and sees that Anjali is shocked but safe and as she turns her eyes towards Arnav, a sob of pain escaped her as she noticed his blood stricken face."Arnav ji, are you alright?" asked Khushi trembling. No response. She gently tries to remove his seat belt and he falls on her completely ,unconscious.
At the Hospital
The whole Raizada and Gupta family awaited near Arnav's room for the doctor to come out and give them an update. Everybody is tensed and Anjali cannot stop crying. Khushi had preferred to stay alone and had gone to the temple in the hospital. She was pleading her DM to spare Arnav ji's life. She had never felt as helpless as she was feeling now. She was feeling so empty inside that she could not even cry. She stared at the Murti in front of her and said softly "DM , I swear in front of you not to eat a morsel of food until i hear the news that Arnav ji is out of danger". She could not even think of life without him. "It's all because of me. I wasn't even watching where i was going. It's all my fault" was all that she could think of. She looked at her wrists where she was still wearing the bangles that he had gifted her. She was not believing what was happening. "I should have told him, I should have told him that I...mujhe fark partha hai kyunki mein uske bina nahi ji sakti."..Self realisation hit her like a cold shower. She could not live without him. She just could not.
At the same time, the Dr came out of the room."We have cleaned all his wounds and we have stopped the internal bleeding. However, for the damage done to his brains, we will have to wait until he wakes up". Anjali let out a cry of pain and everybody is in shocked. Nani ji states that she will not remain like this. She decides to organise a prayer for Arnav's well being and seeks help from the Gupta family. Buaji states that since everybody cannot leave, Khushi will stay with Anjali and Shyam in the hospital. Everybody else leave to organise the prayer.
During the night, Anjali starts to throw up due to stress and anxiety and the Dr advises her to get some rest as she is still under the shock of the accident. She is very relunctant to go but Shyam manages to convince her and she assures Khushi that she will call her very hour to ask for Chote's health and she will come early in the morning.
Since Khushi is now all alone, the doctor grants her permission to stay in Arnav's room. She enters the room but cannot look at him. "Talk to him. He is hearing you" advises the doctor. Taken aback Khushi doesnt't know what to say. She takes his hands and finally looks at him for a few minutes and realises that she has so much to say to him. She starts to talk about their first meeting, how their relationship has changed, how her feelings towards him has changed. She even tells him about her dhak dhak when she thinks of him. She was going on and on and she askshim how he finds her hair as she always let it down now because of him.
She suddenly hears him saying her name "Khushi"..was she dreaming?she waits for a few minutes and he calls for her again. Khushi immediately calls for the doctor and after a few moments, Arnav is fully conscious and the doctor concludes that he is out of danger.
Khushi leaves the room and runs to the washroom. She could not stop the tears..the tears of relief that are rolling down her cheeks. She could stop them. She just sat on the floor, hugged her knees and let all the grief out.
The Dr to Arnav "I'll send a platter of food Mr Raizada. If all your tests are good, you will be able to leave tomorrow. Also, i will send an extra plate for your wife. One of my nurse has heard talking in the hospital's temple .She has sworn not to eat anything till you are out of danger. Please tell her to stop this since she can fall ill and i'll have have to admit her too!".
"This is so Khushi" he thought."Dont worry Dr, she will eat with me", not bothering to correct the Dr for calling Khushi his wife. Khushi came back into the room while he was eating and she was just staring down at the floor. She did not want him to know that she had cried.
A: "Come and have something to eat Khushi"
K :"Euh.. No, I'm fine. I have already eaten. thank you"
A:"I know that you are keeping some stupid vrat. Come here or i will come to fetch you."
K:"I told you im fine and im not keeping any vrat".
Arnav was starting to get angry and decided to to get off the bed. Khushi immediately ran to him. "What are you doing? Are you going crazy?"she screamed. He held her wrist very firmly and said "if you do not eat this, I will not take any medicine, do u hear me?".Khushi stared at him for very long minutes and finally decided to eat some fruits in his platter. He was staring at her in a strange way. "She has been crying"he thought.
The nurse then came with a bowl of several pills. "So many pills?" said Arnav. Khushi took the bowl and a glass of milk.
K: "first one for your nani ji, who is praying for your well being".
Arnav smirked a little. She was treating him like a child but he didn't mind at all. He swallowed the pill.She continued like with the rest of his family. He kept looking at her with a smile until the last smallest pill remains.
K, voice trembling :"And this last one, sab se chota pill, iss Khushi ke naam".
He took her hands just then and their eyes were locked for the longest minutes. Her eyes filled with tears and he saw her crash down in front of him.
A:"Khushi"
And she threw herself against him. She couldn't bear it any longer. She cried her heart out. "Its all because of me, its all because of me" she kept repeating on and on."Shhh..No , its not because of you, it was an accident".Even his voice was quivering. What if he had hit her. He hugged her even harder against him. Time stood still. The world did not exist anymore. It was just him and his Khushi.
Arnav stopped hearing her sobs after some time.
A:"Khushi??"
He looked at her face and realised that she has fallen asleep against him. He couldn't describe the feeling of her sleeping like this, practically on him. She trusted him that much. He smiled and stroked her hair and within a few minutes, he also fell into a the most peaceful sleep he had since a very long time,still having his arms wrapped around her.
Next morning
Anjali had heard the news that her Chotey was now out of danger. She came running to the hospital and the whole family was following her. Without thinking, she opens the door and could have screamed at what she saw. Khushiji had fallen asleep on Chotey. She couldn't resist a smile but panicked at the sight of the family approaching.
An :still holding the doorknob "Chotey, Chotey, wake up".
Arnav heard his sister calling him and reluctantly opened his eyes to look at her.
A:" Di, kya hua?".He didn't even seem to notice Khushi still sleeping on him, as if it was the most natural thing happening.
An"The whole family is coming, Khushiji ko uthao"
"Damn" he thought. He looked at the baby faced girl sleeping and he did not want to wake her. She was looking so peaceful and content. But he knew that he had no choice.
A, softly "Khushi,Khushi wake up".
Khushi softly opened her eyes .She smiled at him half unconsciously and then realising where she was and on whom she has slept, stood up with a start. Arnav was staring at her with a funny smile on his face.
The whole family entered the room and started asking about his health. Anjali looked at him and rolled her eyes. Khushi's earring was stuck on his shirt and her hair was all over him. She discreetly removed the earing and gave it to him. "This is a hospital chotey, you could have behaved". she said only for him and Khushi to hear. Arnav looked at Khushi who blushed fiercely.
The Gupta family was about to leave and Arnav pulled Khushi near him one last time.
A:"They are nice"
K: "what?"
A,:"You asked me last night how was your hair. They are nice Khushi Kumari Gupta, very nice."
