Like MaryBarton said, pearls symbolize purity, and in young, unmarried girls, purity is a virtue. She was dressed as a bride, many brides wear pearls on their wedding day, and so on... So, when he um brutally broke the string of pearls it symbolized the taking of that purity (think wedding night). BUT, keep in mind that the exact same thing was duplicated at Diwali during the ankle sprain scene, only this time he was considerate and gentle. Just like most of the symbolism in the show everything begins one way, then progresses to another level. Both scenes for many of us highlighted the extremity of ASR's character in the show. Hope that helps.

Hey hey!!
Could that possibly link to him forcing her? A lot of us speculated if the marriage goes on the basis of hate or misunderstandings, his anger would take over him and he would do something like that...

Nah he wouldn't do that. He loves her at this point. And it is not right to romanticize what is a crime, married or not, you can't force a girl. Kekta got a lot of flak for showing that in one of her serials, KDMH. So the cvs don't do that anymore.

Yeah this Pearl breaking scene is symbolic of the "future relation" that these two will share! Which is that ASR will be the man to take Khushi's innocence! (In other words the 1st man to make love to her)
The "Ankle sprain" scene at Diwali carried this message forward! It shows how fast forward some months, and things have CHANGED in a BIG way between them! Arnav is tender and caring with her! (which indicates that when he does make love to her, it will be as a "lover" NOT an "aggressor").
Also... the MAJOR change is Khushi! SHE is willing now! She responds to him! At their first meeting, he was agressive, and forced his will on her!She too was unwilling and did not like him getting close to her!
In the Diwali interaction, he takes her feelings into account, and she too wants his touch! A MAJOR change and a symbol of what is to come, and how far THEY have come with each other!
In their first meeting Khushi didn't trust him! Now she trusts him completley!

Well said 👏 The first and hopefully the last man. As in, no other marriages for our dear KKG as she is not a Kekta heroine.

I think pearls which symbolizes purity and innocence were broken that day which means that innocent Khusi's virginity is going to be end with Arnav I think.
Like many people symbolises the churi's[bangle] counting before the first night after wedding...
I hope you get my point...
