Let me talk about our favorite character and favorite topic of discussion...Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada...We like him...We love Arhi...He feels and we feel with him...He throws anger fits ...we are there to defend him...He can't be bad...he is our hero...

But there are times when we are left puzzled...How he acts does not make sense...with all our explanations ...we still have the nagging feeling ...but why...? So we go back and try to look for things in his past...There has to be an explanation...

In some ways I think the directors have really made him and this story either knowingly or unknowingly very complicated...

Khuhsi's character is not that complicated...she is who she is in and out the same...consistent...following traditions...But our man ...he is quite traditional in some ways and completely not in other...

- He cares for his sister and vows to do anything for her... he is true to his word...Same in and out...He follows evey tradition and ritual...she wants to...He is playful with her..teases her...there is nothing untraditional about them... They are an ideal borther -sister combination...

- He has a girl friend...who he does not want to marry...not because he does not think she is not the right one...but he just does not want to marry...He has had a long term relationship with her... no doubt it has been physical too...He brings her home and makes her a part of the family...He even announces that he will marry her...

but then...nothing is what it seems on the surface... His feelings for La are some where between non-existent or complicated...But he does not let any of this out...he just is quiet ...never talk about it.

He feels attracted to Khushi...Can't help but think about her all the time...he is tender to her at times and extremely harsh at other times...He is trying to cut her out from hislife...but the question is what is teh real reason for that?

- It is highly unlikely that it has to do with him being in a relationship with la...but then you wonder shouldn't it be?

- He is not against having a partner ...being in a relationship...and now the latest development ...he has even accepted to be married...but even if he did...it can not be to Khushi in his sane mind... Why?

- Is it because Khushi does not come from the same status and background? But then I ask...why should that matter? He does not need to marry into money ...he has plenty of that...then why...does he really think she is inferior to him somewhow...because of the status? Then what is the difference between him and mami...who thinks the same way? Well this is such a repugnant thought that this can not be true...

The fact is that he is the biggest hero and antihero combination at the same time...and this story is anything but simple...We remain engaged to see how the plot unfolds...and tolerate the inconsistencies and silly plots like Shyamu in the interim...

Okay, So this is what makes lot of sense in my head.

"Status and Money" though still very important in Arnav's eyes, is not the reason he is running away from Khushi. It might have started out that way and by the reaction Khushi has to it,Arnav knows he has hit the nerve with her. So just to be away from her he is bringing status and class up nowadays.

"Arnav is a machine"

Yes, A perfectly oiled machine devoid of any emotions,running smoothly till Khushi came into the picture. He was perfectly in control of everything in his life,Nobody could change his course of action.Nobody dared to.Till Khushi cam along. He doesn't like the feeling of being vulnerable ,that feeling of weakness she invokes in him. He doesn't like that his perfectly programmed brain does an anomaly,just because of Khushi. He is losing his control over his life. So he just wants no part of it and maybe for the first time in life he is running away from a problem. Before this he could solve a problem by using his money,status and power but this "problem" is making him powerless. And ASR can't be powerless. He has worked to hard to shun any kind of emotion that can make him vulnerable. And he can't accept that love can do that to him.

So Arnav is back in ASR mode.

aww yeah fav topic 😆 sush in the weekened you did open at least three topic on the anti hero 😉 . no i am not compalining , i fully understand that the thought about IPK runs in your mind 24x7 you like it or not 😆

nicely summarized i agree also that CVs have made it complicated by not giving answers sometime and keep the open ended as open wound

the simple reasons for the complicated man

1. Arnav does not like to be in love with kushi is that he is scared of falling in love , he thinks if he loves her he may loose her, if you see the way dialogue goes , his anger shoots up whenever she says even i do not want to see you or be in your life 😭😭
may be cause he has stuck at the point he lost his mom 😭😭

2. after they became orphan i am sure he must have gone through the hell so to show the world he is strong and not to taken advantage of he became arrogant and stubborn and angry young man 😆 this kind of controlled situation is very easy to get used to, these kind of people do not like when they are not in control ( in power, power is more addictive than money , i have heard so 😉) so the man does not like when kushi makes him do which he did not do for long time, does not like when she takes the control of his thoughts 😆

All said and done , at core level he is a nice , compassionate human being who is very emotional
that contradicts his outer persona. and thats what i feel makes me defend him some time or will not make me angry with him for more than two epi 😆

he has forgotten to express his love for somebody or also to taken in when somebody loves him,
you may see he had anjali fussing him, but if you really see she does not go over the broad in showing her love for him, she just comforts him. if he gets out of control she emotionally blackmails him but never sits next to him and discuss with him for long time, even if she tries once in a while he always pushes her away 🤔

I think you are right...but he is making it a problem than it is...don't you think...KKG was actually letting him have control...😉 when he ran away from the problem!!!

Sorry to bring it up dear Sasalife! They will never show this explicitly because this has not been a central theme ...but I have no doubt that this is the case...

KKG was giving the controls of her life to him but also taking some control over his life...He just needs to realize she is no problem of his but solution to his life.😃

The day he realizes that Khushi is the solution to all his problems, it will be last day of IPKKND...So better he thinks she is the problem..😆...

Yes Arnav is a VERY complicated man!

As for a physical relationship with La, I am sure THAT was part of the score at the onset... BUT may not be the case anymore! I dont think they have shared any real intimacy anyway. Any physical intimacy that may have been went out the window after La moved to RM to learn the ways of the "Sanskari Bahu"...

But as for KKG... SHE makes him loose control! La does not! Whatever physical relationship he had with her was just the "deal" between two consenting adults in a relationship! It was not based on overt or uncontrollable passion, or sentimentality!

BUT with Kushi... well it is! Any physical closeness he has sought with Kushi (including the time he tried to kiss her) was done because he was unable to control his emmotions! He NEEDS to touch her! He needs to be close to her! (basically SHE has a dangerouse hold over his senses).

THIS is what he fears! He cannot let Khushi close, as once she IS... he will loose whatever control he has LEFT over this equation and give in FULLY to his feelings! He can't risk this... therefore all the machinations to stop her from coming too close. Including this "pseudo committment" to La to prevent his feelings! He is basically running away from falling in love, coz he dosen't think he can RISK this emmotion from entering his life and wrecking havoc over him!
