Okay, this is a totally fluffy little post for the weekend.

So we are all waxing on about Arnav and his love for Khushi, Khushi and her love for ASR, Payash and wet noodle love, and so on.

I wanted to ask a question about love, why is does La love ASR? Personally, *prepares to hide under cover* I have never felt that La actually loves ASR. I feel that she has loved the idea of being a tycoon's 'other'. The idea of marriage was only sold to her as a method to keep ASR when she was old and her looks and other assets went south.

I love this new La who is Khushi's bff, but what made this person fall in love with ASR. What did he show her? All of the soft moments that enamoured Khushi to ASR are secret between them. Even before moving into the house, not because ASR loved her but as a powerplay between ASR and Nani, she was shown as not the sharpest tool in the shed at work (she got rid of the assistant who showed her up) and has consistently been shown throwing herself at him . He has not ever shown her any feelings. Only once has he responded to her come on, when he needed to forget about Khushi. There is no reciprocation of any feelings, there is no discussion between them. Nada. Nothing. Zilch. How is she in love with this man who never once has told her he loves her, even when she has said it to him? How is she in love with ASR?

(I know love cannot be explained, only felt, but what has he ever done to make her feel special? I haven't seen anything yet.)

p.s. - I like La, I want her to have a classy exit from the story, and I thoroughly hate that she is collateral damage in the passive agressive relationship that is ArHi

Spot on post, Anu👍🏼You have listed all the questions that swirl in my mind, when I think about La. And I too like this new avatar of La, who is Khushi's bff and don't want to see her hurt...but under the circumstances, she will.
As for her love for ASR, it is a mystery to me too. Old La and ASR had an understanding...(non)-friends with benefits...she got to say that she was ASR's gf and could show off all the designer gifts and his needs were fulfilled from time to time. Beyond that, there was nothing, I feel.
It is slightly more complicated with the new Khushi-ized La...😕😕
Sorry, no answers😳

spot on- I agree; before we all go over soft on the new Khushied LA- we have to note that this same LA insulted Khushi at every moment and the name she has given is an insult though Khushi has graciously overlooked it. LA has always imagined love as something she gets in material terms and there are a number of girls like her- who only love themselves. Being soft over this new LA is also erroneous as it is only a surface change to fit in- no fault of LA- she is engineered that way.
LA's exit should be carefully crafted by Arnav without hurting her- maybe she could be made to realise that love is a different emotion not tied to material things- and this is clear in Khushi's approach to Arnav. it would be good if the fake marriage scenario between Arnav and Khushi is shown to leak out to the press and the drama that follows would force Arnav to commit to Khushi for fear of societal wrath and LA to move on graciously.

Hi Vistaa!!
I also understood the whole friends with benefits thing and I understood when she could be pacified with expensive handbags. This Khushilite avatar for a man (well actually for his Nani) who doesn't care and said so, confused.

I hope she is shown to leave on her own. She did once before and i personally loved the fact that she didnt harp on the separation. She had pride and was on her own terms. How she leaves now is up to the CVs. I hope she remains an ally of Khushi.

Anu, I think they might have shared a great physical chemistry - before the great move to RM. La may have associated love with it.

Whatever maybe the case, she will not come out of this relationship unscathed. Hopefully she will come out of it as a much better person.

to me the answer is simple: Lavanya doesnt love ASR. before, La and ASR had an agreement: to satisfy each other's needs. Then comes khushi, who bluntly, brainwashed lavanya into thinking; "boyfriend-girlfriend" relationship have to love eachother.. she pratically brainwashed La into thinking the Nani and Khushi way... La went along with it, she is in a state of trance... she hasnt had a chance to examine any of her feelings for ASR... it is obvious ASR and new LA share no chemistry, and key is that they dont love each other... La simply goes along with the family, as she is browbeaten into accepting their norms. To La its simple: behave like khushi, win everyone's acceptance.. her own feelings havent been examined or thought out at all... the day she wakes from this trance she'll realise ASR isnt the right man for her...

i have always imagined LA with someone more easy going, appreciated her fashion sense, her upperclass way of looking at things...her "easy going" attitude amongst other things...

Ooh, I'm so glad you brought this up. I was waiting for someone to see what to me, seems glaringly obvious. La doesnt NEED all this overflowing sympathy for the simple reason that she's not going to be devastated by the Arnav factor. She's not in love with him, or if she is, it is at a very shallow level.

She's in love with the picture. And I dont mean that she's totally mercenary cos it IS a pretty picture - rich, good-looking tycoon with whom she gets on tolerably well (she doesnt seem to WANT anything more) and she has grown to love his family (that is definitely genuine).

She has a deeper relationship with Khushi than she has with Arnav. I found it amusing and telling how her first instinct on getting engaged was to look for Khushi rather than wondering what had happened for Arnav to have changed his mind so drastically.

I also would like to believe that THIS is the reason Arnav picked her to be his girlfriend. He senses that her emotions are not deeply involved and that suits him perfectly. I dont think he is callous enough to be indifferent to a girl who he knows is in love with him. In fact, THAT is the reason he pushes Khushi away - apart from his own feelings!! He knows she would feel things very deeply and he cant deal with that either.

I also dont understand this sympathy for 'how much La has changed herself' for Arnav. So - she's a much nicer person now and has a better appreciation of relationships. How is that a bad thing? And what exactly has she sacrificed??

Having said that, I too hope her exit is dealt with well. It would take away from the ArHi happy ending if she wasnt happy as well.

@savitan - I also think that the physical thing was part of the whole intoxicating idea of being with a tycoon. She will be unscathed. I agree.

@tiya - so happy someone else thinks she isn't in love with him. I think she lost sight of why she was there and her mission became to be acceptable to Nani, not be in love with ASR.

@serendipity - I agree with everything you put. I think ASR made her his gf because she strokes his ego and is not very deep. Is easily mollified. He wants to marry her because of the LACK of feelings she arouses in him. And you are totally correct, that is thevery reason he runs from Khushi.
