I am sure this is one way that CVs idea for Arnav to know Khushi is not a gold digger as he thinks and to sort of change his opinion about her. Eventually he will know give or take 2 episodes.

He has to find out , or else how will be realise his own feelings for. He still thinks of her as a gold digger so by him finding out abt the bangles is the only way to help him khushi for the good , kind person she is , who doesn't put value to money but rather people. Her sacrifice wud work wonders on a man who gets nothing from anybody just to him happy expecting nothing in return.all indications are that he will find that it was not la who bought the plants therefore the basil plant drama with nani who is sure to make noise that would getting him thinking especially if she says something stupid which he witnesses , he will then realise she does have the knowledge of plants to be able to purchase those for him.
