Khushi had showered and changed into one of Anjali ji's sarees (she hated wearing sarees, but it was her only option at the moment). *btw, it is a dark purple saree J * She then washed up and cleaned what she could of her own clothes in Anjali Ji's room. She had finished and was just scurrying out, when she ran into none other than her very own Laad Governor himself.
Khushi didn't make eye contact and began walking past him, when she felt herself being pulled back.
"Where do you think you're going? Mujhe tumse baat karni hain." God damn. Why is she wearing a saree? Doesn't she know what this does to me? She looks simply ----bas Arnav! Don't focus on her, focus on what you have to say.
"Hume jaana hain. Naani bulaa rahi hain." Khushi spoke up as she tries to free her hand.
Arnav starts getting frustrated. This is already difficult to him, the saree isn't making it easier, and now she keeps trying to run away.
"Tum do minute ke liye ek jagah chup chaap nahi khadi reh sakti ho kya?"
"Hume chodiye. It's hurting."
"Toh, stop moving😡!"
Khushi finally gives in and freezes like a statue, placing a finger over her lip (very cutely – Hum dil de chuke sanam types). Fine. Let the Laad Governor say what he wants. Hum bhi dekhe kya baat hain jo itni zaroori hain.
Arnav melts. But realizes he has to gather his thoughts and say something as Khushi is waiting.
"Uh… woh… main… tum… matlab… tumse… main… um."
Khushi unfreezes. "Arnavji, aapke do minute khatam ho gaye hain. Ab hum jaaye?"
"ek se do,
do se chaar,
akdu singh # 1 hai yaar.
Maafi ho ya ho pyaar,
Kabhi na nikle zubaan se bahaar." 😆Khushi mumbled to herself as she went to walk past Arnav.
"Kya?! What did you say Khushi?"
"Uh… nothing. I'm going to go find Di now… bye!" And she ran off. Leaving Arnie and his thoughts all alone:
Bas. Had hogayi. Yeh ladki bhi na. fine. Itne nakhre! Well, I'm no less. You wait and watch, Khushi Kumari Gupta. You want to play this game, then fine. We'll play. But I will definitely beat you at it. 😉

"Ab yeh kaunsa gamla chahiye Anjali ji ko? Kahaan dhoonde hum…?" Anjali ji had sent Khushi to the poolside looking for a specific vase. Khushi was confused, as usual, and couldn't seem to find it…
"woh raha! Finally! Shukar hai mil gaya."
She went over to pick it up, and just as she picked it up and turned towards the house…..
THE LIGHTS WENT OFF. 😲😕
Hey devi maiyya! Itna andhera. Aur kuch bhi nahi dikh raha hai. Hum… hum andar kaise jaaye?
Khushi started trying to find her way, stumbling here and there… just as she thought she had made progress, she felt her leg hit something (a table most likely), and before she knew it she was falling.
Khushi closed her eyes and scrunched her face up, bracing herself for the fall. But the impact never came. She felt two arms close around her waist, steadying her😳. And she knew. It was him.
Just then the lights came on, and she found herself staring into the eyes of Arnav Singh Raizada. She had become used to the feel of his embrace, with the number of times she's fallen into his arms. In fact, she was even beginning to become comfortab----
Chup Khushi! Kuch bhi soch thi rehti ho. Who Rakshas hain, Rakshas! Remember?
Khushi came to her senses first. She saw the tenderness in Arnav's eyes fade as she pulled herself away. And there it was – back – his khadoos "Angry Young Man" face.
Ugh. Sacchi mein, I think iski shakal hi aise ho gayi hain. Dekh dekh ke, humara mood aur hi kharaab hoga. Chal, nikal Khushi.
She turned and began walking towards the house. She had just reached the door when something made her stop. She heard it very softly at first, and then gradually it got louder…
There was no mistaking it. Khushi knew this tune like the back of her hand. She had seen this movie atleast 50 times. There, in the middle of the poolside, she could hear the beginning (the tan tana naaa) of one of her favorite songs: Didi Tera Devar Dewaana (from Hum Aapke Hain kaun)
Yeh gaana? Yahaan?
Khushi turned to see what was going on, but there was nothing. She was thouroughly confused.
And then, she looked down. And there before her, was Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada, her Laad Governor kneeling down on one knee, holding out a stick for her to take. (EXACTLY SALMAAN KHAN types)
Sazaa jo bhi dogi…

Khushi's mouth dropped open. She literally couldn't believe what she was seeing.
Lagta hai hum margaye aur yeh swarg hain. Hai na devi maiyya?
Khushi was still trying to comprehend the situation when Arnav (still on his knee – bechara acchi practice ho rahi hain 😆) began to talk.
"Khushi. Maine tumhare saath bahut galat kiya. Jo kuch kahaa, nahi kehna chahiye tha. I honestly didn't know… ki tum bhi… ki tum sach mein samaj sakti ho." He looked down, and then back up at her, straight into her eyes, and softly said…… "I'm sorry."
Khushi's heart melted at the genuineness in his voice, the true guilt and remorse in his eyes. She knew this was the most heartfelt apology she had ever gotten. She was speechless (and still in shock and disbelief!
Arnav held out the stick again, pushing it towards her.
She quietly took it, and he braced himself, closing his eyes and turning away. But she of course, didn't dare use it.
In fact, by now Khushi was really starting to get worried/ confused/ even more shocked (if that was possible). Where was ASR, aur yeh Rakshas-turned-insaan kahaan se aagaya tha?
Devi maiyya. Kya ho raha hain? Ek hi din mein, itna change! Kahin yeh nashe mein toh nahi hain? Ya phir tabiyat kharaab hain kya iski? Kya hum sapna toh nahi dekh rahe hain?!
Not feeling any beatings, Arnav opened his eyes…. To see Khushi Kumari Gupta pinching herself! And lightly slapping herself across the cheeks. 😆
"Tum!!! Yeh kya kar rahi ho? Paagal ho gayi ho?"
"Paagal hum nahi… aap ho gaye ho! Hum toh bas yeh confirm kar rahe hain, ki kahin yeh sapna toh nahin hain?"
Arnav looked at her, with utmost certaintly in her eyes. His gaze reassured her that this was actually happening. As if that wasn't enough, he reiterated…
"Khushi. Apni nautanki bandh karo. Yeh sapna nahi hain. Maine… woh, maine tumhe bahut chot pahunchaayi hain. Itni chot ki shaayad even a lifetime of sorry's won't be enough. Maine kya kuch nahi kiya tumhe – Lucknow mein beizatti, dropping you from the second floor, the guesthouse incident, throwing you out of the house and then out of my car…. Par kal, kal maine kaafi limits cross kardi. Bina jaane, mujhe woh nahi kehna chahiye tha. Galti hogayi Khushi. Mujhe maaf kardo.
Koi koi galti itni badi hoti hain, ki unke baad maafi maangne ka haq bhi nahi hota hain. Main jaanta hoon – main yeh haq kab ka kho chuka hoon. still, phir bhi, kisi tarah shayaad mujhe koi apna dost hi samaj kar, maaf kardo. Please?"
He stared up at her, a childish sheepishness and innocence in his eyes. As if he was the little boy who had just fought with someone he loved dearly and had realized his mistake. They were pleading with her, showing all the guilt, hurt, and remorse he felt.
Khushi was stunned speechless. Itni pyaari baatein, itna saaf dil – yeh Khushi ka Laad Governor hi tha na? Khushi soaked in the moment, her eyes tearing up at the sheer purity of what she had just witnessed. She gazed into his eyes and was lost in them. She couldn't look away. She wanted to capture that look forever, to capture this moment forever.
"uh… khushi?"
Khushi snapped out of her daze. "Ji?"
"woh, thoda jaldi nahi kar sakti ho… kitni derr tak aise baitna padega 😆?" Arnav said, the beginnings of a small smile playing across his face. "I mean, main jaanta hoon. Mushkil faisla hain, par have some mercy on my knees."
Khushi couldn't stop herself, and a huge smile stretched across her face. Wah. Isko toh mazaak bhi aata hai! 😃She motioned for him to stand up.
Arnav gazed at her, still uncertain as he stood up. She had smiled, which was good. But would she forgive him so easily. He desperately wanted her to, but he knew it was unfair of him to expect anything. He solemnly looked back at her, like a little child awaiting his sazaa.
Khushi saw his uncertaintly, and maybe just a tiny glint of fear. All of a sudden she became very serious.
Kya hogaya? Lagta hain yeh nahi maanegi. Waise bhi, kyun maanegi ASR? After all you've done to her… she has no reason to forgive you. As much as he tried, Arnav couldn't shut up the voices in his head.
Finally, Khushi spoke.
"Hum aisa nahi kar sakte hain. Hum aapko dost samaj ke maaf nahi kar sakte hain."
ASR felt his heart start to shatter. But then again, what had he expected? After what he had done, no one in her place would forgive him.
"Main samaj tha hoon Khushi. Koi baat nahi. Main toh bas, main tumse yeh kehna chaatha tha. That's all."
"Ruko. Humari baat khatam nahi hui hain. Hum aapko dost samaj ke maaf nahi kar sakte hain… kyunki…. Kyunki, dosti mein: no sorry, no thank you! 🤗" With that Khushi smiled. She smiled so big that her entire face lit up and her eyes were twinkling.
"dekhiye, ab aapko decide karna hai." She continued. "Dost ban na hai na? Toh phir yeh Sorry – vorry nahi chalega." She looked at him and said reassuringly, "jo hogaya, usko jaane do. its okay. Lets start fresh. " She held out her hand, "Hi, I'm Khushi."
He breathed out a sigh of relief. Wow this girl was really something. She could give him a heart attack and then make his heart skip a beat all in the span of a minute. He finally smiled like he hadn't smiled in years – from every part of his being – as he took her hand. "Hi, I'm Arnav."
