Anjali had been watching her younger brother from the bedroom door. Chotu has not been himself lately, it seems that something or someone is pre occuping his mind.

She slowly walked ,pulling herself long, and then gently placed her hand on her younger brothers shoulder.
Arnav did not turn around , as he was too deep in his thoughts. Anji clapped her hands infront of Arnav , snapping him out of his thoughts.
Chotu what is it now ? What are you thinking? Anji said Is something bothering you?
Arnav turned to face his Di. No nothing is bothering me . Arnav lied. How could he tell his di , that Khushi bothered him so much ,because if he did , then Di. would not stop asking questions about her and to be honest , I really don't want to talk about someone who bugs me.
Anjali sensed that her brother was lying to her, but did not say anymore, as she knew chotu , would not tell her what was going on in his head , as he never shared his feelings with anyone.
Hmm ok , chotu . I've just come to tell you that dinner ,is ready , everyone is waiting for you. Anjali said , but before she turned , she said giving a small smile to Arnav Is it Lavanya thinking about her? or Is it someone else ? Arnav stuttered I.. I... was...
But before Arnav could say anything else . Anjali said , if it was Lavanya , then you wouldn't be stuttering , it is someone else.
Look Di , Arnav protested I was just...
It doesn't matter chotu, Anjali said as she squeezed Arnav shoulder. Because who has been troubling you lately must be very special to you. Anjali turned and walked out of the room.
What is Di thinking about Khushi special??more likely annoying . Yes she is troubling me , but she is not special. But he never thought about someone so much , but why khushi?
Even Lavanya , was never on his mind so much, but a girl like Khushi was. But Why?
The next day , Khushi woke up bright and early ,the sun blazing into her and jeeji's room. She got up from the bedroom, tip toeing ,across the room ,as Payal was still sleeping and did not want to disturb her.
Today Arnav will not get the better of me , I have got up extra early , so I will not be late to work. Khushi ,grabbed her bag and stepped out of the house and stretched her arms.
What a beautiful day , at least something's are beautiful,unlike some people. Khushi skipped along the path and towards the bus stop . When a motorbike came zooming past and splashed her . Covering her from head to toe in dirt.
Khushi screamed loudly , sending the birds back into the sky. Oh no look at me , I have to go back and change , this will add an extra 20 minutes. Annoyed Khushi ran back , zooming in and around , all the obstacles that stood in the path.
Her Bua , was awake , heating up the milk, when khushi was about to bash into her Bua
Woah Khushi , can't you see where you are going , slow down , what's the hurry?
Buaji , I can't stop ,I'm late for work. Khushi ran into her bedroom , and tripped over the stool , sending her flying and onto the bed.
Payal woke up with a jolt , rubbing her eyes , Khushi can't you see where you are going. Slow down. Khushi why are you so dirty ?
I can't explain jeeji , I am already late .Khushi said as she grabbed another outfit from her wardrobe. Khushi quickly got changed and ran back outside.
I can't believe this , looks like I will have to run or I will miss my bus. Khushi ran as fast as she could , a sharp pain went through her side. Come on Khushi only few more yards and you'll be there . The bus won't be here for another two minutes. I can do it.
However Khushi saw what looked like her bus. Yes it was.
No it can't be thats my bus . I am going to be late now. Oh no Sir has probably thought of some nasty challenge. Oh no! Oh no! What am I going to do.
Khushi turnned to see if there were any rickshaws near by . But there didn't seem to be any avliablie
Khushi decided to wait for the next bus . Looks like I will have to do that impossible task. Arnav can't fire me for being late. I have to complete 15 days and no way I will quit. I'll show him . Looking at the timetable , Khushi saw that the next bus , will come in 10 minutes.
Hoefully I will be able to make it and there won't be any more problems. Devi maai please let me get to the office on time.
Arnav was sitting in his office, it was 8.55 am , the rest of the staff had begun to arrive , but there was no sign of Khushi.
Standing in his office ,Arnav looked down at Khushi's desk. She still has not arrived , looks like she will be late, oh this will be fun . I will make her day so miserable that she will quit and I will win, then everything go back to the way it was before. he heard a knock . Lavanya walked in. Hey baby , hows your weekend been , she said , smiling towards Arnav. she came towards Arnav and wrapped her arms around his neck. You know I have missed you so much. She snuggled against Arnav.
Arnav , mummured , thats nice. To be honest, he wasn't really paying an attention to what Lavanya had to say to him ,as he was to busy watching the clock.
Lavanya let go of Arnav , annoyed , she said Baby ,what you thinking about. But before he could reply. A Loud bang came from downstairs . Khushi had knocked into Sim , which sent her flying across the room , knocking the paper and files that were in her hand across , the room.
Chamkali Sim screeched her face turning red. You idiot look what you have done. Pick these up now!!!
Sorry Sim maam . I didn't see you . I will just wait one minute , I need to tell Sir that I am here on time . She looked at the clock and saw it was 9am . Yes I am on time . Phew.
Just as about Khushi was about to climb the steps .She banged into something. Ouch , She said as she was rubbing her arm. Please look , I need to get upstairs. Khushi looked up and saw that Arnav stood in front of her . Realising that she had knocked into Arnav, Khushi took a step back. Looking at Arnav , she smiled . Look Sir I am on time .
Ignoring the rest of the workers ,Arnav took a step closer , Khushi stood there as she ,didn't know what to do. If I take I step back ,I'll probably fall , or knock something.Making him more angry
Khushi Kumari Gupta , I find you are 1 minute late . Arnav said.
What no I am on time , look it's 9. Look at my watch It says nine. Khushi pointed at her watch.
Arnav stared at it then smirked, but if you look at the clock on the wall it says 9.01 am .
But Sir Khushi protested That's not fair!
Arnav replied I do think it is fair . So therefore I will make your day hell , that you will surely quit. Arnav walked away from Khushi and started to climb the stairs back to his office.
Twiddling her fingers Khushi , started to pick up the papers. muttering under her breath, who does Sir think he is , it is only a minute ,he could have let me off. I have never met someone who can be so mean . I'll show him. I am not going to quit . Ill show him what Khushi Kumari Gupta is made out of.
