May be Varad knows his father abusive nature and try to stay away as much as possible. Or may be he was abused by his father when he was young or may be he doesn't want to go against his father because his father will be taking his anger on his mother by hitting.

When Naranjan was sitting on the table with his legs folded... He looked like a psycho, that one scene was creepy. He needs to be in a mental institution.
