PART 12
Shlok picked up his Aayi's call..S :(angrily) Hello..
A :(very tensed) Hello Shlok..Shlok..Your Baba is in the hospital..His condition is really critical..(sobs hysterically)
S: What..?!!
A: Yes beta..Heart failure..(sobs)
S : (frantically) Aayii..What are you saying..?
A: Please come soon beta..I am alone over here..(weeps bitterly)
S: Please don't cry Aayi..I will reach there soon..Don't worry haan..
A: Ok beta..(weeping)
Shlok disconnected the call and his breathing became heavier with each passing second.
He dialed Aastha's number and waited for her to pick up..But Aastha was still awake..She was surprised to see Shlok calling her and she picked up the call instantly..
A: Hello Shlok..Is everything alright..?
S: (nervously)Aastha..My Baba is in the hospital...Aayi was saying that he had a heart attack..His condition is really critical Aastha..I don't know what to do..
A: Don't you want to see your Baba now..?This is not the time to have any hard feelings towards him, Shlok..
S: But Aastha..
A: (slowly)Shlok..Listen to me.. We are going to your place right now..I will also come with you..Now no more arguments...I know that you also feel like seeing your Baba right now..
S: Ok Aastha..I will come and pick you up in a few minutes..Be ready..

It was about 3 am in the night..Shlok and Aastha were rushing along the hospital corridor. They reached near the ICCU and found his Mother Anjali who was sitting slumped on the ground, as if she was unconscious.
Shlok ran to her and picked up in his arms..
S:Aayii..Open your eyes..(shakes her)
He made her sit on a bench..
A: (vaguely)Sh-look..
Aastha took a bottle from her bag and took some water and splashed it on Anjali's face..She opened her eyes and saw Shlok and then her eyes fell upon Aastha..
S: Aayi..You drink some water..Aastha, give me the bottle..
Shlok took the bottle and made Anjali drink from it..She became alright in a few minutes..She got up and hugged Shlok with all her love and cried bitterly burying her face on his chest..Shlok patted her head and her back and tears filled his eyes too..
S: Aayi..Relax..Nothing with happen to Baba..I am sure..don't worry..
Aastha felt really happy in her heart that everything became alright between Shlok and his Aayi..
Just then the Doctor came out of the ICCU..
S: Doctor..How is my Baba feeling now..?
D: We can't say anything right now..His condition is really critical..It was very good that his wife took him here immediately..Otherwise he would have died..Let us all pray to God that he regains his consciousness soon..
S: Ok doctor..Can I just go inside and see him..
D:Ok..But don't make any noise..Please don't disturb the patient..
S: Ok Doctor..
Shlok went inside the room and he saw his Baba lying on the bed unconscious. Many sorts of tubes and wires where connected to his body and an oxygen mask was fitted over his nose..Shlok's heart shattered into many pieces as he witnessed his Baba's condition..All his hatred and bitter feelings were just washed away from his heart just by that single sight..A sob struck in his throat..He went and touched his father's feet with both hands and held them gently..
S: I am sorry Baba..I am really very sorry..
He started to weep silently and his tears fell upon his Baba's feet..
Niranjan Agnihotri moved his feet slightly..Shlok stopped crying and looked at his Baba's feet uncertainly. He looked at his Baba's face..It was also moving slightly..
N: (vaguely) Sh-lok..
S: Nurse..Baba is trying to say something..
The one of the duty nurses ran towards the bed and started doing something..Another nurse ran outside to call the doctor immediately..

Shlok, Anjali and Aastha were sitting outside the room and were waiting for the doctor to come out..After some time the doctor emerged out of the ICCU. Shlok stood up and went towards him..Anjali and Aastha looked at him expectantly..
S: How is he Doctor..?
D: He is out of danger and is now fully conscious. But..
S: (frowns)But what, Doctor?
D: His one side of the body is fully paralyzed.
S:What..?!!
D: You may go and see him..
Shlok went inside the room again. Tears were falling down from his eyes. Niranjan smiled happily when he saw his beloved son.
N:Beta..
S:Baba..
N: God has punished me beta..For my terrible sins..Please forgive me at least now beta..(tears falling down his eyes)
Shlok touched his father's face and smiled bitterly..He just couldn't say anything..
