Yasna, I have commented about it in my first paragraph. And that should make it clear what I think of abusers. Twitter world is free for all - good and bad comes with it. It has been good because if not for the social media, many social issues would never be highlighted. For example, the kidnapping of those Nigerian girls. That issue was dead until it got highlighted in the twitter world and other social media and now it is a hot topic. Hopefully, there would be an happy ending for those unfortunate girls. This type of freedom (of social media) also comes with a price where you get abusers too.

Regarding IF, I see very less negativity in comparison. The moderators in this forum particularly have closed threads where unnecessary comparisons between shows have been done or where participants have commented on personal lives of actors/CVs or have abused them. So he does get a response on IF when he invokes IF and paints everyone with the same brush.

I really hope that he does come on the forum and read both the past and present threads. Probably then he would understand that constructive criticism and praise is not directed at anyone individually (actors, directors or writers) but at the product they produce or on their professional work. However, I hope that it is not a one way communication where he comes and says his piece and does not listen to others (detractors or fans). This interview is an example of one sided communication.

I did not want to respond you paragraph by paragraph...i already wrote all i had in another thread dedicated to bashing the director..and this post i made so ppl know that interview is authentic since many had doubts in its authenticity...no hidden intentions from myside

I agree with Angie. The is a stark difference between fan fanaticism and constructive criticism. Freedom of speech allows us to voice our criticism on this forum in line with the rules that abusive language not be used. I condone the twitter harassment wholeheartedly, as that is appalling but such social media has it's pros and cons. It's a double edged sword that the more these celebs interact with followers and share about their lives they increase in popularity, but also have to deal with the backlash when their personal lives come under public scrutiny. It is very unethical to bash them as they are as human as the rest of us. But unfortunately, if one takes the adulation and appreciation without complaint than also the anti-fans will need to be dealt with accordingly. Dignified silence helps. And of course blocking and or choosing to be less active on the social networking sites. Some celebs deliberately avoid utilising social media to further their popularity as they know the drawbacks. It's becomes too time consuming.

Either way, the negativity has been overwhelming for the cast and crew from the start as they face constant unfair comparisons but that doesn't negate the fact that there are flaws in their product that require improvement. As loyal viewers whether online or not, we are a sample of the audience and our feedback is not meaningless. Perhaps, Waseem Sir could have qualified that the twitter response is the real problem as the comments go unchecked. Here, on IF where it is regulated by moderators we have a more balanced range of reviews. Of course, there are snap reactions at times but if the CVs actually read and follow the posts regularly they would find the analysis and threads are usually well thought out. If he truly cares about his work like I feel he does than wouldn't he want his product to be remembered for good reasons. To say just watch and forget means that EBP is just a run-of-the-mill serial that will be on air as long as it generates trps and audience likes/dislikes be damned. Then why bother to give any feedback whatsoever? Let the CVs do as they please.

Moreover, I do really appreciate the hardwork of the cast and crew but I'm sure all shows churning out 6 episodes a week are working just as hard but they probably don't get the onslaught of negativity like the EBP team does. Hence, I somewhere empathise with them too but it's wrong to label all admirers of the show as 'hard to please' crazy fans. After all, fans can make a show. I don't think sequels of many shows would have seen the light of the day if not for popular demand by fans so learn to take it in one's stride.

Anyway, I am not involved in twitter. I wouldn't even call myself a fan of any show, celeb or otherwise. I have real role models to look up to. I don't need to waste my time in idol worship of those that are only going to present a certain 'image' of themselves. We don't know the real person behind these 'masks' they wear. Sorry, if I offended anyone but it's my POV.

One thing I agree with Waseem Sir on is that there are much more important issues going on in the world. I wonder if he ever stopped and thought that replying to petty fan bashing in the same petty manner was worth it.

After reading the interview I only thought that Waseem cant accept any kind of criticism..Whenever we praise him he never responds but mocks fans very easily whenever some criticism come through..
He wants to get paid for the hard work..Yeah..its true that they have to work long hours & it takes a lot of effort from their part to entertain us..but after all its their job & they are paid for it..
We have always praised his efforts & his vision..Fans who criticise at some point are the ones who most of the time give their positive feedback at the good work done by them..
Yes..he is true in saying that there are more important things in this world other than daily soaps..

There is a difference between constructive criticism and bashing. Most of the people in this forum offer constructive criticism and not bashing. So I cannot understand why is everyone being brushed by the same brush. Bashing of any form should and cannot be accepted.
Coming to constructive criticism...it is done to help and not to bring anyone down. All of us who are working have to face it and some of us do on a regular basis. If you think that something will help then you accept it , if it doesn't then you reject it and move on. Also it is not personal and it is aimed at the product.
People in the entertainment industry should know that there are two sides to a coin. If they get adulation then they should also be prepared for the other side of the coin. The other side of the coin is not bashing but it is when people find something missing in the product and they point it out so that the product is improved.I do empathise with the long working hours and I very well know that the cast and the crew have it in them to give us excellent work. They have done it for the first 6-7 months of this show, but that does not mean that people will go on complimenting them when the said standard has fallen.
I am not going to say anything more on this. Serviana you have already written that you just wanted to clear that the interview was authentic and since you are not Waseem, I don't see any need to go further into this. Anyway Angie has already written majority of what I wanted to say. Nevertheless Waseem Sabir is most welcome to write what he wants to say in this forum and provided he keeps an open mind, I will be happy to put forward my POV on constructive criticism.

@bold: this simply is not true and i am sure that there are many ppl who got response from him. He just can not respond all hundreds of tweets he gets every day. Same thing for criticism.

But there are some ppl who take all this too seriously...and they just dont differ real and reel... You know how many offending tweets Shrenu received for something Astha did or did not?
