Loved Avinash as Shlok. On personal front wouldn't agree with his thoughts about a woman, but Shlok stole my heart. He was too good as a male chauvinist.

I just watched the first episode. Avinash was really great as Shlok. I was ok with his clothes too. They are using dark clothes as a metaphor to reflect his negativity. A good contrast between him and Aaatha. She is wearing chirpy and light colors (yellow, white) to reflect her optimistic outlook while he wears darks to reflect his pessimism about everyone.

I liked both and in my opinion, the chemistry between the two was good even though I was somewhat skeptical about Shrenu's chemistry with Avinash.

Good start where the focus was on Shlok and there were hints of a dark past. His mother seemed a fishy character the way she had no pain on her face at Shlok's attitude or the way she was dismissive of the servant and then cleaned up the husband's shoes with her pallu.

Overall, a gripping first episode. I liked the way Avinash showed hatred/anger to pain in his eyes only. The precap was interesting too where he is amusedly dismissive of Aastha.

@Angie agree with u mostly
I lvoed the episode
But Shrenu, I mean she need to pick on her acting, and as far as chemistry was concerned, I was skeptical about the chemistry too... Because though shlok was fabulous, the show need both astha and shlok to survive not only shlok
any way I must say that, the first episode was interesting, and I am looking forward for the next, but i can't judge on show based on a single episode
But I will say, the show certainly deserved more than a 6 pm slot

I also felt Avinash has to tone down his anger expression it should be smoldering and simmering anger not loud but liked the last part with hurt also reflecting in his eyes and expression

story sounds interesting have to W&W

Just copy pasting what I wrote in Hari's thread

Based on today's episode, to me Shlok is all about ego and control. He does not like anybody being incharge of his destiny and he challenges anything...be it nature, destiny, an idea, a notion, a person who makes him think that he himself is not in control of his own life. That makes me think that what happened in the past that has made him fear the loss of control in his life? Did something happen regarding the girl/lady in the background that made him feel insecure and made him feel that his life is not under his control but under someone else's...which his fear combined with ego makes him lash out?

I liked the first introducing scene...Shlok running up the hill with the girls laughter in the background and then him reaching the top of the hill and throwing a sarcastic challenge to the sun (again a lady' voice in background and shriek) that Mr. Sun has lost again and Mr. Sun cannot bring sunlight into his life ...again hinting at something regarding lossing control (lady's voice in the background with shriek)...and his sarcastic challenge to Sun (nature/destiny) representing that only Shlok is responsible for what happens in his life and no one else.

Then in the college...Sholk does not like lies...but there is a difference between not liking lies and being nagry about it and not liking lies and being obsessive about it that he does not listen to reason. He was actually pretty ok in the beginning ...he was angry hearing that a girl is involved and made a sarcastc comment at the presence of the girl regarding leaking of papers...maybe indicating that when girls are involved people loose control. But he treated all four the same and gave them the same punishment...but again hen the girl challenged him he lost the plot and lashed out...Again indicating to loosing control and lashing out as a reaction.

Then in his encounter with Astha...when she returns to say sorry his sarcastic remark was that she came to apologise because he made him...again mixture of loosing control and ego. But when Astha refered to him as a rakshas...he lashed out and his expressions showed that he did not like a mirror being shoved on his face. The breaking of bangles brought him back and freed her hand

He does not like his mother and adores his father...but there was something strange with his mother...I mean her behaviour a bit strange...She knows that Shlok adores his father, then why did she call to remind him regarding retruning home on time otherwise his father will not break his fast? I mean shouldn't she know that he will be back?

Hari/Sonia, this is only the first episode. They used it to just establish the basic characteristics of two lead characters. Also they are showing a big contrast between the two.

They are trying to attract audience to this time slot that is not a prime slot. So they have to show a fast paced show. Also, it takes a while to establish characters and side characters. Here they are showing Aastha an open character and hence her family is revealed. Shlok is the closed one and there is mystery about the mother and the father.

@Misti: That was an interesting point about Shlok's mother. First of all, she did not seem to have any motherly feelings the way she was reacting to Shlok. Then you brought a good point that if she knows Shlok's respect for the father, why was there a need to remind him of that.
