I think the original explanation of what happened 16 years ago was more complicated and they have simplified it to close the show quickly, hence the inconsistencies.

Chandni's kidnapping motive I think also was changed, I felt initially it was being used by Indrani as a controlling mechanism and then they made out as a murder attempt on her - then why would you kidnap her for 3 days, wouldn't you just kill her? Also what the kidnapper said to Chandni, that when she returns home no one will believe her that he didn't touch her - she will be badnaam.

Passports - maybe in ipk3.1 we will get the answer...

I dont think we will get adequate explanation of why indrani got chandni kidanpped... earlier when they had revealed about the kidnapping, Indrani had said that she wanted to get rid of chandni but she (Chandni) turned out to be too strong. I thought that Indrani wanting to keep Chandni under control was a good reason for kidnapping but the earlier explanation at the time of kidnapping reveal is not consistent with this explanation.

Indrani is a master manipulator .remember how she changed the gold jewelry that was supposed to be given to the kids ( and Kajal Mausi gave her gold rings by mistake ) and Indrani with her sleight of hands changed it ? The kid thought he got what he deserved and Kajal Mausi got her ring back ...it was brilliant ( even though our renowned forum critics were busy discussing how stupid the special effect looked , anyways...) ... That made me think ..Indrani is super smart and maybe wanted Chandni to suffer from PTSD so that she stays home till temple doors open.

Also in the second episode Chandni has such a deep and meaningful conversation with Shankar Bhagwan, which showed real faith and devotion, and then we never saw anything further of that either... which I really understand why, surely even TRP aunties like God believing FLs?

I think Advay's dad told the mantra because it was his duty to pass it to next one.but he did made him feel guilty about his actions and the guilt built up over time and he became sick.

About chandhini, she kept asking about dev and his family. This worried indrani that if she went out and freely mingled with people in city then she will know the truth and as chandhini was one of the witnesses of dev's mom black magic and now she was the eldest daughter of mahant, it could raise uncomfortable questions for Indrani. So she had her kidnapped but chandhini ran away. Chandhini jumped in water to escape and kidnapper thought she died and Indrani was relieved but chandhini survived. and that's what indrani said to neeru mama that she didn't even survive that.

That's what I have understood watching the episodes.
