Guys, can I just vent out here how forum is high on Shivani's acting in today's episode. Its so unfair to call her as lacking skills. To me she did just fine and found nothing wrong the way she is playing Chandini.
Quoting some of the notes that I posted on another thread...
Shivani is doing just perfect playing Chandini. If her characterization is confusing the audience and if her scenes are lacking the substance, then I feel she has already proved herself. Anybody who sit at home for an over year behind the shadow of her mother, without any exposure to outside world, do lose a little bit of sanity. They no longer will be in a position to take control of things, they will be timid and low on confidence. They will be highly incapable of making any decisions, let alone react to situations. Her mind is not blank, it is just so crowded. For example, in the today's episode, She didn't know if she should worry about her mother's feelings, prove Advay wrong, or stop him from doing what he was doing. She stood clueless, unsure how to react. She is weak (for now)!
And that is what CVs are trying to show her as, a confused, indecisive girl. And she will be like that until Advay completely take over her life which will happen only after Marriage. It is very important for CV to show her the way they are showing her now so that post marriage track can bring out the gradual growth in her characterization and how strongly Chandini can rise above her fears.
Her first fight has to be against Advay! She is still incapable to take him down but the marriage track should bring her aggressive side out. Only when she gains confidence that she can go against such a man and stand up for herself, would she be able to believe the true intentions of Indrani.
Until then, she will be as lost as she was in this episode.

I'm studiously ignoring those posts because well, the same people complaining about her acting have in the past, not uttered a word of appreciation for her, not even her efforts. I mean that TM even applauded the actor who plays PP baba for his efforts and very conveniently left out Shivani's name. So I see the agenda and I steer clear. đ
As for Chandni's reactions today - idk maybe it's just me but they made sense, to me. Like someone else mentioned, she just seemed numb until the desperation seeped through when she went to open the doors.
Some part of me hopes the reason she was so pliant when Advay was putting a ring on her finger is because she has an inherent awareness that he's much better than that sleazeball fiance of hers lol.
