OK read ur post & understand ur frustration. I am a Barun fan not an SI or SARUN fan. But at the same time I am not blind to his limitations after all we are all human & no1 is perfect.
To answer ur quest 1st a short History class. I think during the IPK1 fiasco many folks were angry with him since he kept changing his stmts & never came clean on his intention to quit. Of course he dint want to anger his producers, STAR & fans. I get that. At that time many fans sent petitions, kicked up a storm on social media refusing to accept any one else as ASR. Frankly I was fine with them ending the show since post Marriage 2 the show completely went down the drain & they butchered the character of ASR. So I was ok with both the option of Barun being replaced with Viraf or the show shutting down. I was ok with both. However considering that its a question of employment for many who were working on the show best option would ve been to bring in Viraf & if TRPs dont work anyway STAR would ve pulled the plug. But the fans forced STAR's hand who then unceremoniously shut the show. This angered many SI & SARUN fans who were invested in the show & wanted it to continue. Finally they lost their say & they felt betrayed. Of course logically & rationally none of this is Barun's fault since he was simply looking for greener pastures viz Bollywood. But he has this typical foot in the mouth syndrome. Hence all those stmts about Better to sell milk than act in TV. I am brain dead doing this show etc etc. He needs a PR PERIOD! That is where all the bad blood started. His nonchalant stmts only fueled the fire more. People have long memories.
That is why when he couldn't shine in BW & had to return to TV many of the fans felt vindicated. yeah it might sound petty but thats human nature. People note our mistakes & failures more than our good deeds & success. That's life. Its unfair.
However having said that I dont think most of SI or SARUN fans indulge in this murky social media slug fest. Its just a few jobless trolls. Social media trolls are a staple now in this connected world. Even celebrities like Modi, Big B, Priyanka are not spared. But not all fans are abusers. Yeah they might feel a secret pleasure in seeing Barun coming back to TV & to the very same show which he ditched. They feel its KARMA!
BUT & a BIG BUT what I am bt to say now is v important. Even these bashers actually secretly in their heart do accept the fact that Barun is talented & deserves better. If he had been a mediocre actor no one would cared a rat's ass if he had quit the show. They would ve said Good Riddance & moved on. All this anger & sense of betrayal is not because they loved the character ASR but they actually loved the way BARUN played the character ASR. If u see many of these sarcastic threads or bashers thread though they make jibes at Barun they are undeniably pulled to show because Barun is acting in that. Yes they make snarky remarks & call out his quitting drama & his BW fiasco. But at the heart of the matter is somewhere the frustration that this guy is not utilizing his talent well. Quit IPK at its peak for a mediocre C grade movie. Now again back to TV with a half baked product. They may not like him (too much bad blood there) but they cant deny his screen presence & charisma. That is why they watch & then criticize. I am not justifying what they are doing. Just saying things as they stand.
However not all fans fall under that category. For instance take me. I never watched IPK2 since it dint ve Barun. But watching IPK3 only coz it has Barun. I post LUs & other threads where I regularly criticize the show, acting, dialogue delivery etc. But that is not coz I am bashing but I genuinely like watching & criticizing movies/shows!
For all those who are abusing Shivani they are just trolls. Trolls' only job is to do that. Best is to either report them so that their Twitter/FB/IF accounts get locked or just ignore them.
