IPKKND3~ep 5~7.7.17 My Impressions.. The pointed finger..

Our body language or gestures often transmits nonverbal messages, when we are at a loss for words. Figuratively speaking, many popular sayings that enriches our verbal and non verbal communication , uses an interesting selection of visible body parts to convey meaning across. The specific body part alluded to, in this episode, in keeping with the exploratory tone and the set of events certain characters experience. The references to the finger would not be out of place. The first phrase as a figure of speech has to be that of the pointed finger! A pointed finger both practically and figuratively alludes to exposing something or someone. It can also be used as a mild form of aggressive behaviour towards others. A pointed finger to Advay means without a doubt that Chandni identified his mother as a witch and had her damned to her death. Sixteen years he pointed his finger at the vashist family and nothing makes him reverse his mind set. till now..

When one walks in the shoes of righteousness , ones gait is firm and purposeful. Advay clicks the picture of the letter, collects the evidence of exactly what takes these three sisters off course? With his angst held at bay, Advay gains fresh lead , that apart from Chandni , the vashists.. someone else may well be involved in the gruesome killings of his parents ,some sixteen a years ago. Which implies now that he has to uncover some unknowns as well. It's like after years he can come apart from fighting his loss, as he can now make considerable gains in sending his foes to what they deserve. It's an elevated sentiment that one senses when fingers point in some coherent direction.

To Advay's freshly gained optimism, on the contrary, stand those who are weighed down with their own guilt. The three sisters Indrani, Shakuntala , Kajol sense a finger pointing at their backs, exposing them as the perpetrators of what happened sixteen years ago. Oblivious they are, to a dreaded ghost from the past. Only moving curtains blowing in the breeze give them temporary respite. But for how long, for the guilt ridden conscience continues to point an accusing finger at them. For where can one hide from one's transgressions.

Advay's exploratory expedition would not be complete without the headlong collision between him and Chandni .It's like some divine finger moves and creates this totally off the cuff! meeting. One more time she loses her balances and yet again his wide arms protect her from falling. His bemused expression and her horrific shock prompts, you? from her, and his surly reminder, respect! from him. Her body recedes and his advances... raaba ve... with authority he interlocks his fingers with hers.. his bold wrist watch symbolises and confirms even time itself cannot wipe out what they once shared.. his fingers grips hers as his eyes relay the link ,the connection he needs to make with her... Chandni the weakest link of the vashists ,who will become for him ,his strongest link at combating what he has in mind.. and who knows in his heart. His crooked smile in her face, tells her the collision is to her displeasure , but to his complete pleasure. Her frayed nerves , and thumbs and finger clumsy gestures due to his imposing presence thrills him..prompts him to flirt with her.. all he wants to know how she recuperates? She confesses it was a bad experience.. he mocks , she had passed out.. how come she was aware it was bad? he insinuates , something totally bad might have befallen her...the truth is she wouldn't have known, as she was knocked out cold! bemused he turns and saunters off.. pleased he leaves her once again wrestling in her pretty little head that something terribly nasty did happen to her in the night garden! Chuckling he walks away , amused how he has her twisted around his little finger..

When the least significant become significant in peopl's lives. So it is with Shilpa and Harmonium the two menials of Chandni and Advay respectively. Shipla's role in this episode is that of , one who facilitates the next meeting between Advay and Chandni . Also she covers up for Chandni when she needs to leave the house for selling her kadas..Harmonium of the other hand , not only serves his master meal, acts as his carer but most importantly he supports Advay when he sounds off about important connections he made today. That apart from him, there is another, who black mails the vashists about their past. In fact Advay shares with his servant, he plans to use Chandni for all present purposes. Both Chandni and Advay chose to trust their servants rather their family. Its understandable with Advay , but Chandni perhaps choses Shilpa in this specific task because she knows she might come across family opposition..

The magnified image of the letter on Advay's laptop, is like a finger that points to Chandni's enlarged photograph on the wall in his room. For the minute he sees her as a negative image.. whose pointed finger took his mums life! However , if he looks for solutions ,its Chandni's collaboration he needs.. pity , at the moment, he sees her as the weakest link of her family.. he needs, her to crack this case. For who knows they might well end up as a team? Become a strong link in the chain of events?

There are grave financial problems behind the seemingly grandeur and facade of the vashist family. When their money lender turns Indrani down for the much needed cash for tomorrows great banquet.. she nearly swoons as she can see a thousand fingers being pointed at the respectability of their family name! tomorrows banquet not happening as planned is an immediate threat to hollow sham respectable image amongst the masses.. the appearances have to be kept up..and so eyes look and wait ,till the doors to the temple open.. and vashsits can commit theft! Steal from gods's house! Pilfer from the purses of true worshippers... and no one will ever know.

The divine finger points to only one daughter of the house.. who will hold high the honour of the family name.. Chandni gets access to the gold bangles ,kept for her by her mother. What good are they lying in the ornaments casket? Of no use.. she needs to make look good her family honour by selling them ,for the much needed cash. For the true embellishment for a daughter is the honour ,respect and life of her parents!.. that hug from her father, where he gets a short memory burst and recognises her as Chandni!. Refreshes her soul.. so filled with strength is Chandni that she even over comes her fear of crossing the threshold of her house! She is off to the market to retrieve her family honour before it crumbles down!

Advay's dark eyes watch the transaction done between the buyer and seller. There is no way in hell! he will not make use of the weakest link to his benefit! He accosts Chandni one more time.. this time publicly! snatches her handbag with the cash and thus begins his mocking and scoffing her! he didn't know her lot were so desperate for money? She should have asked him he would have loaded her with it! She resists! He persists! her yes or no bag!! ok... Advay fixes a date with her on the terrace of her house.. to discuss matters of mutual interest!.. she has to leave and he lets her! he turns and goes his way.. raaba ve.. can't wait .

And so the daughter of the house returns and by the looks of things to Indrani , all fingers point to one thing.. that the grand banquet will go ahead as planned with full pomp and ceremony befitting the vashist name. Chandni gets a second hug! This time from her mother... when Chandni repeats the message that Indrani has taught her all her life.. to this day... that all preciousness is worth nothing when it comes to upholding a mother's honour .. its priceless.. hamlet53 8.7.17

Has Chandni been brainwashed into allegiance to Indrani ? Indrani ,I feel knows that Chandni out of the three daughters is most dependable and loyal. Makes me wonder what will happen when Chandni comes to know about the source of income of this family?? It's strange that the sane of mind women of the house, have no conscience . the man of the house, who gives the impression that he may have a conscience ,is one with the failing memory.. that comes and goes.. Both Barun and Shivani were impressive.. the story is moving at a steady pace .we got to see more interaction between Chandni and Advay.. and more on the cards tomorrow. Amusing .. its about not laying a finger on her!!! HEY and Barun is dressed in a tartan plaid suit! Wonder where he picked up that from?? Mr.lover boy? Raaba vee.. listen you all have a super weekend... much love hammie

Unres!! I am the first one.. yipeee😆

As always, a wonderful write up on the episode which all of your readers must have enjoyed thoroughly.. What a good read!⭐️
How skillfully you have managed to give symbolism to the title "The pointed finger" with respect to the episode.👏

Wow wow this was great.. Advay's bold wrist watch reading out the time symbolizes that that Time may flow without stopping for anyone but cannot wipe out the the bonding which the couple once used to share.. without any hesitation Advay approached Chandni and interlocked his fingers with hers thus making sure to give her some hint that he will do anything to win her..
"Kyun Dard hai Itna? Tere hi ishq mein Rabba ve", Chandni's terrified face, hesitation and shock in her expressions reminded me the lyrics of the title track.
What is Advay planning to do? make her fall for him and leave her alone making her pin for his company.. the revenge thus taken.. for 16 years he was all alone and Chandni will also have to bear the pain of loneliness as he has been doing since a long period?
Or is he going to frighten her, dominate over her and win authority over the house and the property which rightfully belongs to the eldest son of the late Mahant?
Interesting to watch Advay's hidden motives..

and yes no one knows whether this girl who he considers to be a weak one and planning to use as a pawn in fulling his revenge motive, may team up with him in future in finding out the real culprits and exposing them.

The market scene of AdvNi was a treat to watch.. Barun's performance impressed me.. The way he threatened Chandni that his decision is final and she will have to do what he wants her to do else he will not let her wishes get fulfilled at any cost, indirectly hinting her that her fate will be in his hands..He will decide their story.

Pheww, their dresses..
I am sure after some days, Advay will be made to wear floral suits, something which will be very similar to kids' room curtains.. with tulips, roses stitched on them..
My eyes literally hurt seeing the costumes which Shivaay of IB gets to wear these days.. 😆😆
okay enough of ranting..😆
the story is progressing well.. loving the gripping story line of revenge drama..

A fantastic take hammie.. Kudos to your writing abilty. its always interesting to read whatever you write.. (remembering the poet in you)😳

you too have a great weekend my dear Bhau..
happy for you..

Wonderful analysis again
None of the three elder sisters have a guilty conscience
All they care for is the loss of the fake image of the Vashishts
Chandni is a dutiful daughter and may be the other sisters are also
Loved Advay Murli conversation and the rapport between them
Loved all the Advni scenes that goes without saying
Waiting for Monday now

Hello hammie!

I loved the whole thing about pointed fingers...u described it so wonderfully

Advay seems to be like open book for audiences ...his feelings are shown to us

Indrani seems like mystery

I know costume designer shirali is not good...guess we need to adjust to her...I am already kind of used to her costumes

A superb analogy of the episode as always, Hammie! 👏 A pointed finger could also proclaim an accusation. 😳 Initially, Chandni had accused Advay's mother of being a witch who possessed the ability of flight. That accusation lead to a downward spiral of events that ultimately destroyed Advay's family altogether. He won't ever forget that pointed finger until he vindicates the pain and misery he's endured in the past sixteen years. I see glimmers of the original ASR in this season, but in a more complex form. Barun has been powerful in his role since the first episode. He emotes his character effortlessly through his eyes. I've also been noticing the contrast between dark and light in his wardrobe. I think it signifies his inner turmoil of good vs evil. Even with Chandni, his urge to loath is often overshadowed by his reverence of her beauty. I think the lead characters have chemistry, Hammie. 😊 Advay's entry in to the Mahant's abode in the coming episodes will be through their eldest daughter in the form of an impulsive proposal. Advay's laying the groundwork for Chandni to be scorned into a contrived alliance with him to save her family's integrity in the eyes of the people. As we've already seen in the episodes of this week, Chandni prioritizes her family's respect before anything else and Advay has already assessed this weakness to his advantage.
